Don't ask for help, even from the manager. Be ready for a lot of attitude. Never had this bad of an experience in a Safeway before. Avoid if you can or just get in and get out.

This review is for the Safeway on Howard ave Burlingame. According to all the signs on the shelves, on the weekly ads and the Safeway app, the Oroweat bread 'buy one get one free' . On the way out I checked my receipt and noticed I was charged for the two bread. A went to a different checker who tried to help, still did not show the buy one free. I decided to return the bread. The money was refunded to my account and it was all fine with me and was about to leave. While I was still there a different checker wanted to see why the discount on the bread not showing on the register, I wasn't saying anything to her, this female checker yelled at me "well! do you still want the bread or not". I did not reply to her, I got upset and left. This obnoxious lady (Diane) should not be working around customers. The male checker who first helped me was helpful and nice. The lady who showed up next (I did not ask for her help) she is too old to be working anywhere, tried to check on the prices was not.The San Mateo County government should look into the inaccurate pricing at this Safeway. In the past years I've been shopping here, I have been ripped off too many times, and it's getting worse. I think most people too busy with their lives to complain. I will bring this to the attention of the county's weights and measures department. This Safeway should take a closer look at the person in charge of pricing.

Bought a gift card here paid $100 dollars and when the gift card was used it came up zero. Do not buy gift cards here you will be ripped off and they will do nothing to help you. I had proof of payment and the did NOTHING

For the "general questions" department, they never pick up their phone; not sure if it's the same for the other departments (e.g., meat, deli, bakery).

You know, good ol Safeway. Burlingame's safe so this safeway feels quite safe too. Grocery's always pretty reliable here.BUT okay their cream puffs. I just had to write this review to SHOUTOUT TO THE BAKERY DEPARTMENT!Their creampuffs -- quite delicious. Filled to the max with whipped cream. These cream puffs, even at 3.99, they are massive. It feels like you're holding a bigmac. This is a great feeling.Shells aren't like super crispy, we're not expecting that here since it's prob been sitting in a plastic tub for a few hours. But like man, this is still better than other cream puffs like mustache papa or something. I've also gotten the same cream puffs at the Millbrae Safeway, but their cream was like lemony. No good. Burlingame Safeway is where it's at.

Your average Safeway. Not too unsafe, but also finding parking here is a disaster. The Starbucks here is always on break or out to lunch or rude. They always seem to be out of whatever is advertised, especially if there's a special on Yogurt.I find this Safeway a bit chaotic and even self service check out has a wait at all hours of the day.

Great Safeway well stocked up on everything. All the Manager's do an excellent job, shout out to Wendy one of the managers for handling a situation very professionally. I highly recommend this store

The store is conveniently located, and offers ample parking. You will pay a lot for groceries here, well anywhere, but especially here. For your money you will be rudely treated by nearly every employee that you encounter. This is the store where all the malcontents work.Suggestion, if you must shop Safeway, drive a little further on El Camino Real in either direction. The San Mateo and Millbrae stores are still pricey but their staff is professional.

Went in with my wife, It was a pleasant enough shopping experience until self checkout. the employee Fernando rudely implied we were not paying for everything. We proved otherwise.. Then as we were walking by him to leave he says a rude comment to my wife. Unbelievable lack of professionalism. Someone with that bad of an attitude and judgmental behavior should not be in customer service.

Went to deli counter, and asked for tenders. I distinctly asked for barbecue sauce as she suggested ranch. I told her 3 times bar barbecue sauce. I had other shopping to do so I was going to take the tenders and check them out with my other items before she said can you pay here? Sure I can. But customer service is lacking here especially when I speak English, and she assumed something different that reality. This little old lady needs to go back to class and learn appropriate customer service skills. The young man next to her was even shocked and he is probably 40 years younger. He was kind. Northern California is suffering from a racial sickness, or something. I come in there all the time and I work next door. I decide to get my tenders and end my shopping right then. Old people need new training.

This rating is only for Starbucks in this Safeway. Got a grande latte Monday morning on December 19th. The latte was near tasteless. In a sense, water tasted better. If I lived in Burlingame, I definitely would have brought it back. Just terrible. Will not be going back to this Safeway Starbucks. Will be going to the Starbucks store on Burlingame Avenue.

It looks like such a nice store from the outside. I came here out of convivence due to nothing around the area is cheap in anyway. So while waiting for my partner to finish what they were doing I decided to do what I liked, window shop for food. I know it is a strange habit, more of a fetish. Upon walking in the early after I see a rodent run across the meat display. That close to actual food, don't know how it looks on the other side of that wall.

It's safeway what more do you need we all have to shop for groceries I always find what I need at this Safeway easy to shop aisles are wide enough for shoppers to walk up and down the aisles. While some shoppers browse the aisles you can still pass by without having to say excuse me to get by. Parking is tight here because it is shared with other businesses and it seems the spaces are real close to each other it is a tight fit. The cashiers are always working hard to get the shoppers in and out but it does seem to take a bit longer here than other Safeway's maybe due to mostly everyone has a full cart here I still prefer this Safeway over the ones closer to my house
