Can't speak for the fruit, didn't see any of it there fresh. I can tell you the sandwich from the cafe was the most dry sandwich I've ever eaten, probably on par with my top 5 worst sandwiches I've had. It didn't taste fresh at all and the workers were kind of unfriendly. Both of us couldn't finish what we ordered. The store itself is kinda cool. Beef jerky, candy, souvenirs, lots of drinks and snacks. It was like a big gas station without the gas. Probably won't be back unless it's for a bag of licorice before we go to the mall.

I'd seen the store from the freeway for months and had always planned to come in for some fruit. It's a big store and kinda looks fancy. I went in expecting to find a large selection of fresh fruit. After all, the store has "fruit orchard" in the name. I found a lot of dried fruits and nuts. But when I went to look for fresh fruit, all I found was one shelf of less than mediocre fruit. Green bananas and weird looking avocado. Why put "fruit orchard" in your name when you have such a sorry selection of fruit??? This place is the biggest disappointment in the desert. You should call yourself Hadley's Sundries or something. This is NOT a place for hood fruit. It'a more like a convenience store with a lot of dried fruit. Oh, and the staff are the least helpful people ever. The woman at the juice bar hardly knew what she was selling. Forget this place. Unless you like nuts.

The name of this store is very deceiving. My family and I came here expecting delicious organic fresh fruit to purchase. We walked all over the store and found a very small section with fresh produce but it wasn't even labeled organic. Everything else in the store were dried fruits, popcorn, nuts and candy in plastic bags along with a very small section of dried grains like rice. We went to the date shake section and the lady working there was very nice but she didn't know if the dates used in the shakes were organic or not. Where are all the fresh organic fruit around here??? Wwaaaaahhhhh!!!

Did you know there are 600 types of dates in the world? I didn't know till I did a bit of research for this Yelp review of my Banana-Strawberry Date Shake I had from Hadley Fruit Orchards store. Check in to Hadley's on the Yelp app and receive a free mix-in. I chose to add strawberries -note it's syrup, not real strawberries. I was hoping for fresh strawberries. Large shake will cost around $5. Shake wasn't overly sweet. Date flavor was subtle. Banana and strawberry flavoring taste a bit artificial. Free large parking. Picked up a date shake on the way back to LA and there was already a bit of a line at around 11AM -although the line moved quickly. Service was direct no frills. I had to wait for a manager to override stuff on the computer for the free mix-in when checking in to Hadley's on Yelp. *Palm Springs grows the Medjools and Deglet Noor type of date, if you wondered too. Deglet Door means "date of light," in Arabic. Online sources say 90%-95% of dates grown in the USA come from the Coachella Valley.

I love this place. When driving from Arizona to California or vice versa, it is a great place to take a break. There is a lot to see, a restaurant and lots of goodies to go. I find it a very relaxing spot to stop. To me, Fruit and Nut stands along America's highways are as Americana as it gets! There is a nice (small) restaurant that serves up better fare than the fast food restaurants in the area, if you have the time. They always seem busy. Oh and those date shakes are something to try. The store itself has a few souvenirs and lots of nuts, fruits, candy and you name it! I like the variety selection of nuts and fruit. If you like dates, there is every kind you can imagine. I found a variety tray with cashews, walnuts, pecans and almonds coated with date sugar. Yum! I also found some Australian chocolates with a freeze dried honey center. Last, they have a counter where you can ship ll of these goodies to friends and family. Whats not to like. Hadley really does have something for everyone!

Very happy to have found an amazing local place to support amongst mostly big chain restaurants. The date shake is outstanding and a great price too at $5.50 for a large. I had never had a date shake before. We loved it, went back and got another one and put it on our "must visit list" for every time we're in the is stretch of hwy 10. I'd like to visit the Hadley Farm next.

You are rollin into Palm Springs from a long drive from the Bay area. You need food. You need... a Hadleys vegan date milkshake. I know a milkshake is a drink, but when you go here, they have sandwhiches, hotdogs, burgers, etc... when you need that drink, don't get a soda, splurge, get the date shake. I went vegan, no chocolate drizzle. Also, bathrooms are pretty clean and they have a plethora of snacks and bottled drinks for the road if you are heading out of town. But, if you read this far, fo sho get the date shake. It's the real deal!

Came here to just stretch our legs on the easy to Joshua Tree and w as pleasantly surprised! The store itself has a wide variety of options with a large selection of local dates. The date shake is definitely worth a try, as someone who doesn't eat dates often, it was amazing!

This was such a fun experience with the kids. Cool market attached to a cute sandwich shop. Obviously the date shake was incredible. Even the vegan one! Prices were so reasonable and the food came quick. Definitely recommend!

My first time here although have passed by many times. Surprised they moved from the original location to a "grocery-store" type building next to the original. The selection and variety of dates will shock you! Who knew there were "so many" types!! Had to get the famous date shake and it didn't disappoint. Tasted like date flavored ice cream, so I wouldn't be surprised to see vanilla ice cream in the ingredients!

We miss the old roadside store of decades ago but still the best date shakes anywhere! With the casino the dominant attraction we understand why they had to update and move. This store is perfect for getting that unique gift you forgot for the dog sitter while you were on vacation. Lots of stuff that is local and unique so set aside cash from your casino winnings, the stuff isn't exactly a bargain but you will get the desired smile from the dog sitter, or house sitter, or baby sitter after you hand them the gift. Cool stuff, but get the date shake before you shop, you won't regret it!

One of my favorite stores to go to out in the Morongo area near the Desert Hills Outlets. The dates are to die for as well as some of their other merchandise. The date shakes are the best!!

Disappointed, the burger looked to be a precooked steamed burger, a bit of an upgrade of a gas station burger, only because of the fresh lettuce and tomato. Hubby got a Ham & cheese panini and chili dog, which he didn't care for either. We tossed out more than half of the food purchased.
