My daughter attended Calabasas Klubhouse Preschool two yearsOne of the most significant concerns during my daughter's time at CK was the issue of bullying. I noticed a change in my daughter's behavior within the first few months of being at the school, and she often spoke about feeling excluded by a specific student who in turn encouraged the other girls not to play with her. When I asked one of the directors about it, she acknowledged that my daughter was often playing alone and said it was because the girls in the class all knew each other since they were very young and were "cliquey". The director also said that this student's parents were aware of her behavior and they were "working on it." I asked why I wasn't informed about these issues (and had to hear it from my 4-year-old) and didn't get a response. Because of COVID restrictions, my daughter wasn't able to play with kids from other classes and the boys in her class played too rough for her, so she was very isolated. I was told that this student would be leaving in 3 months, at which time things would get better for my daughter. That wasn't really a solution so we emailed the admin and teachers. We asked for support and made suggestions about books they could read in the classroom about bullying. We also make it clear that we didn't expect every child to be friends with every other child in the classroom and also asked for feedback on how we could coach our daughter on being a better playmate. We did not get very much communication regarding the matter. I was disappointed by the lack of a structured process to address bullying and felt unsupported by the staff. Even after raising concerns and seeking feedback, little changed in terms of my daughter's exclusion. She was even called "fat" by this student and when she told the teacher what the other girl said, the teacher said "You need to work it out yourselves". Asking a preschooler to do that is not developmentally appropriate. It's crucial for educators to address such behavior promptly and effectively. The fact that my daughter endured hurtful comments without adequate intervention is concerning and worth noting. In cases when my daughter said she was done with her lunch, a teacher or aide would make her eat X number (usually as many bites as her age) more bites than she wanted, employing a method of coercion that I fundamentally disagree with.Academically, the preschool relied heavily on worksheets. Art projects were infrequent and usually were a printout, and my daughter seemed modestly prepared for Kindergarten.During the summer months, the school introduced watching movies which significantly increased screen time. Unfortunately, this was not communicated to parents (I only learned about it through my daughter), leaving me unaware and unable to manage my daughter's screen time at home accordingly.Since being in elementary school, she recalls the teachers at Calabasas Klubhouse as stern. I guess she had nothing to compare to. She does not have fond memories of her year there and the tough experiences she had still come up for her often. We were recommended this school by two of our neighbors who have older children, so I think there was a time when it was different/ under different management. It is my sincere hope that sharing these specific aspects of our experience will provide valuable insight to parents seeking the right preschool environment for their children, and maybe encourage the school to take a look at their policies and principles.

My daughter attended Calabasas Klubhouse Preschool two years ago. I would rate our experience at Calabasas Klubhouse Preschool with 2.5 stars. This school left a lasting impression on my daughter. One of the most significant concerns during my daughter's time at CK was the issue of bullying. The fact that my daughter endured hurtful comments without adequate intervention is concerning and worth noting.Because of COVID, we had to purchase lunches from their 3rd party vendor which were an additional $8 a day. As a family who doesn't eat animal products, I was assured that vegan lunches could be accommodated before we even signed up for the school. A few times I picked up her lunch on days she was home sick so they wouldn't go to waste, and I found that most of the time her lunch consisted of a carb (like crackers or pretzels) and fruit/veggies. She was often not given any protein, despite my conversations with their lunch vendor. I asked the school about how often lunches like those happen, and they said on days when she doesn't seem to have enough, they give her extra granola bars. They never told me that she had insufficient food and wasn't being offered a balanced meal. I just happened to discover that myself. Again I was very disappointed that the school didn't communicate that at all.In cases when my daughter said she was done with her lunch, a teacher or aide would make her eat X number (usually as many bites as her age) more bites than she wanted, employing a method of coercion that I fundamentally disagree with. Klubhouse is a wonderful & welcoming preschool with a sense of community. Our daughter started attending at 18 months, and has come a long way now that she's turning 3. She has speech and developmental delays, and the teachers and staff all played a role in how far she's come. She's made a lot of little friends and has developed so much confidence! In addition, the location is beautiful and there are lots of outdoor play areas. We love Calabasas Klubhouse!

We absolutely love Klubhouse! Our daughter has been going to the school for a couple of years now and she's incredibly happy there. The teachers and staff are very caring and supportive. They plan so many fun activities for the kids. The school grounds are beautiful and the classrooms are decorated in really fun and engaging ways. My daughter comes home so excited to tell me everything she's done during school. Also, the communication from the school is wonderful, which was very helpful throughout the pandemic. We couldn't be happier and cannot thank the staff enough for all they do!

Wanted to love this school! The reviews here are just glowing! Unfortunately, after 2 months of hearing the things my daughter was coming home and saying about her class, we decided it wasn't for us. Nice to see its been great for so many people but looking back, we shouldn't have choosen a preschool based mostly on yelp reviews. If we had been able to tour/see a class we probably wouldn't have enrolled. Happy we have found a school that does allow prospective families to see what the school is really like and we love it, but more importantly our daughter loves it and comes home full of positive things to say about her day!

I can't recommend Calabasas Klubhouse enough! The teachers and staff are phenomenal. They work with the children so well on socialization, academics, and are always doing fun play experiences and creative arts & crafts. My son started preschool late due to Covid and the team at the Klubhouse got him up to speed in no time. I trusted them with our son and he always came home talking about his friends and the exciting things they did that day. I know the preschool hunt can be hard. I would absolutely consider them for your preschool. The team is wonderful and they care about the students and love what they do for work. It shows.

Wow....I toured so many preschools for my daughter Siena when she was 2 and nothing felt right, until I found Calabasas Klubhouse Preschool. Carly and Bridget are phenomenal leaders of the school and have made the program and environment incredible. My daughter Siena who is now 6 graduated and is at the top of her class In Kindergarten. My daughter Gemma is currently thriving as a 4 year old and my son Jack is starting in July. This is the best local school and they are constantly evolving. I love it so much. I highly recommend it 100%!

My daughter loves the Klubhouse! She absolutely loves her teachers and always comes home happy. They do a lot of art, sensory, and outdoor play and she comes home knowing Spanish words for her colors as well as how to use ASL for colors. I'm addition to all of this, the grounds are beautiful and classrooms are clean!

My heart is so full as I write this post. Before I begin with our story, I just want to say that I can't recommend this place enough. This is my daughter's 3rd preschool and it finally feels like she's home. She's been here for about 7 months and I kick myself for not placing her here in the first place. My daughter has developmental, intellectual, and speech delays and this is the first school that has welcomed her with unconditional love and understanding. The love her and take her as she is and because of the love she feels here, she has blossomed as a person. Her speech has improved, her behavior has improved, and her development is going in such a positive direction. Never once have I received a complaint about the things she's "not doing right" because they fully embrace, understand, and respect her situation. Instead, it's just pure love that she receives from her teachers, the directors, and even the teachers in the other classrooms. I can see on her face every morning when I drop her off that she feels safe, happy, and loved here. The other schools we went to either complained that she was too affectionate with the teachers or that she would fall asleep during class (she's on heavily sedating seizure meds so yeah, she's a little sleepy) and they would make me come get her. Within 15 minutes. The other school would come to me every day at pick up with a list of things we need to work on at home, all stemming from things she was doing "wrong" at school and despite the number of times I tried to explain that she has a genetic developmental disorder, they simply acted like I was doing something wrong at home.Klubhouse is nothing but love and acceptance; they've created an environment where ALL children can truly thrive, learn, grow, and develop into the best best versions of themselves. I am beyond grateful for this school and will be sending my twins here when they are old enough.

The Calabasas Klubhouse is such a beloved and highly regarded pre-school in our neighborhood. My daughter attended when from ages 2-5 (she's now 9), and my son currently age 3 attends the school. What makes this school exceptional is the loving, caring staff who become like family. Everyday my child is greeted with big smiles and hugs - when he walks through the classroom door in the morning he just smiles! It's a fun loving school that reminds me of the comforting feel I had when I went to pre-school as a child. The school has fun everts for the kids like animal shows, bubble and puppet shows and special visits from the mayor, local dentist, fire department, etc. The school turns into a "Camp" theme over the summer so it's a lot of fun for the kids to enjoy water play and other outdoor activities on the spacious land the school is on. I love that they also celebrate and embrace all holidays and events. My older daughter was very well prepared for Kindergarten. And attending the Klubhouse enabled her to make many friends who then moved on to the local Kindergarden classes together within Calabasas/LVUSD. I highly recommend this school and can't say enough wonderful things about it.

We LOVE the Klubhouse! Our children have been attending the school for the past 3+ years. My older child spent 3 years there and graduated this past summer and my younger one attends currently and will be attending for 2 more years. When we moved to Calabasas 3+ years ago, we did a lot of research on surrounding preschools before choosing the Klubhouse. The primary reasons why we chose the school and why we continue to love the school today are:Amazing teachers/staff:The Klubhouse has such an amazing group of dedicated and caring teachers/staff, many of whom have spent years at the school. Year after year, as our kids have gone through the different age levels, they have loved their teachers in each class. After my older child started kindergarten, she would ask me to take her back to Klubhouse so she can visit with her former teachers.Well-rounded curriculum:I love that the school curriculum is a great balance of academic, creative, and social learning. Each year the school plans out such as well thought-out curriculum with weekly themes and activities and learning objectives that they want to achieve in academic, creative, gross/fine motor, and social development. Additionally, there are plenty of additional enrichment activities such as soccer, dance, etc that parents can sign-up for during school hours. I'm always amazed at what my kids are learning in school and really happy with how well this school has prepared my child for kindergarten.Safe, natural environment:The school sits on several acres of natural park with lots of mature trees and a large green playing field and fully gated with secured entry. I love that it's tucked away in the hills, away from busy traffic. Another huge security perk, since the Klubhouse is run by the City of Calabasas, it has a well planned out emergency evacuation plan that utilizes the city's emergency resources. It really gives me a great peace of mind knowing that should any emergency (i.e. earthquake, etc) occurs, the school has the resources of the city to keep my kids safe & secure until we are able to reach them.Great hours/coverage for working parents:We're working parents and the daily hours and annual operation of the school has been so helpful. The Klubhouse is open 7:30AM-5:30PM. Classes start at 8:30AM or 9AM but you can drop your kids off as early as 7:30AM and pick-up as late as 5:30pm. During the summer months, the school runs a great summer camp so we can get the continuity of care without having to worry about finding alternative care for our kids.Healthy, hot meals:The school caters daily hot lunch for $4/day. A new meal calendar is provided monthly and you've the flexibility to order as many lunches as you want each month. I love that the lunch menu has great variety and is really healthy. Usually it's a main course with protein/carbs and always comes with fruit & water, NO sugary desserts. All in all, we couldn't be happier with the Klubhouse and would highly recommend this school to any family.

I love the klubhouse, my daughter started going there since she was 2 1/2, all the teachers were so great and took such a good care of her, I was amazed by all the activities they were doing and so much they learned. My daughter loved going there and now that she's 6 and in kindergarten, she even asks me to go back there to say hello to everyone. Love love this pre school and would recommend to everyone, Im planning on having more kids, so definitely they will be going there also...

Absolute best preschool in the area. The school is heavily subsidized by the city of Calabasas ~$15K per student so you basically end up with a private school experience for about $700 per month. I have two daughters who went here and they still rave about the program. This is the best kept secret in Calabasas.
