We had the absolute pleasure of seeing Star for my daughter Xoe’s curly cut, and she was amazing from start to finish. Star was incredibly patient, taking her time to make Xoe feel comfortable and confident. She not only gave Xoe a beautiful haircut that brought out her natural curls, but also shared super helpful product recommendations and care tips to keep her hair healthy and happy at home. Xoe left the studio beaming and her curls have never looked better! Thank you, Star, for your kindness, talent, and expertise. We’ll definitely be back!

My little boy has never had a haircut because of my hesitation with stylists not being familiar with curly hair. I was so glad when my SIL shared what Starr had done for curlies at local high schools. I knew right then this was THE stylist for my little man's first haircut! I reached out to her and worked to set up an appointment. Today was the big day! My son was nervous. I'll admit, I was too. But Starr was fantastic and put us both at ease. She was patient, gentle and kind with my son and listened to what I wanted for him. As a parent and fellow curly, I appreciated that so much. Thank you Starr

My teenage son and I had the most amazing experience at the Unique Hair Studio. We had no idea how to manage his curly hair and Starr provided a full consultation- educated us on how to manage the hair, detailed a treatment plan/routine, cut, washed, dry and cut again. It was worth every penny. My only wish is that she would consider styling my boring straight hair. The studio was also clean and welcoming.

If you have naturally curly hair, you must see Starr! I have been battling my curly hair for years, straightening it, blow drying it and not appreciating the curls I had. Starr did a dry cut on my hair/curls and her attention to detail for every single curl was amazing. She taught me how to treat my curls, how to wash, dry, sleep. It was such an educational experience and as you'll see from the before/after - my hair is SO happy now! The salon is gorgeous - so quirky and fun and Starr is wonderful - so welcoming, friendly, and a joy to be around. I highly recommend Starr and am so happy I found her!

i'm so impressed with everything about this studio. i went earlier today for a curly cut and starr is now my go to hairstylist! her attention to detail was fascinating to watch. every single curl got closely paid attention to and styled individually. starr was also SO warm and friendly and made me feel so comfortable, she knows how to create an uplifting vibe/soothing experience. thank you so much!!

First off, I'm so happy I treated myself to this salon and it's awesome stylist, Starr!She was so welcoming and knowledgeable about ways to trim and style my wavy hair and made me feel like I'd finally get a hair cut/style that I'd be happy with (have almost never found that hair stylists know how to cut curls).Well...I do, and she DID!!We chatted about how I can change my wash routine to get better results. She is a very good listener, and fun to be around as well. She did not try to push me to purchase products from her salon, but made a nice recommendation about a curl refresher, which I did buy at a local drugstore, and love so far!I did the curly cut and style treatment, which is well worth the $200 cost, which is listed on their website, because1) I love the results for my curl type and length - she does DRY CUT!!! iykyk.2) she worked me with alone for over 2 hours, working on each curl and checking the way they lay in different angles3) local, woman-owned small business, price is fair for the cute old town Camarillo location and clean, welcoming vibes.Overall I'm so grateful that I found Unique Hair Studio. If you have waves/curls, don't hesitate to try this salon and embrace your natural style.I'll be back for sure!

Not only do they know hair and are masters doing it, but from the moment I walked in the first time I felt like I had been going there forever. They were so friendly, so helpful, and the salon is charming and very inviting. I was told to text them if I had any problems or questions, this is not a connection I have had anywhere else. I felt so good when I left that I honestly can’t wait until I go back.

Starr is an artist! I first came to her studio in November of 2022 for my very first curly cut. She was so warm and welcoming and really took her time to answer my questions and help me learn how to better care for my curls. She also recently gave my daughter her first curly cut. My daughter was nervous and Starr made her feel comfortable so quickly - such a positive experience! Highly recommend to anyone looking for a curly hair stylist and an inviting studio. After following her on social media for months, I finally brought my curly hair to Starr for the whole treatment. She cut, washed, deep conditioned, styled - the whole gamut. was traumatized from previous cut at a regular family salon. came to curl specialist 6 years later . 110% recommend. I trust her with those scissors fr. I straightened my hair it looks so good! and the ends are really even which is really hard from a curly cut! GO TO UNIQUE HAIR STUDIO !! recommend all the way! Vibes are good too which helps calm the anxiety of getting hair cut!

Starr is fabulous and so is her calming and eclectic salon. I have been searching for years for a curly hair specialist with a few disastrous cuts. After seeing her Instagram, my sister and daughter led me to her. Starr takes her time to get to know you and your hair. She is kind, sincere, non-judgmental, attentive, beautiful, stylish, and very understanding about us Curly Girls. She treats your hair gently and with extreme care. She taught me so much about how to care for my hair on my own without pushing any pricey products. She also suggested products that were easily accessible and affordable outside of her salon.
