This is for AVIS in general, not a specific location.Bad customer service. Very condescending and arrogant. Not helpful at all. Had to call multiple times for the same issue. When it came to billing they are very deceiving. The worst experience I ever had in terms of rentals. NEVER AGAIN will I use AVIS. P.S. I'm not a person who writes reviews. This is my first but I felt super overwhelmed talking with them and not being heard so I decided to leave a review.

They were very friendly and professional in my dealings with them. They stayed when I was 1 minute late and had no way to get home. They were calm and helpful when I was frazzled after my own car was un drivable after an accident. I would rent from them again. The Malibu I got as a rental had some tech and had apple play and android so I was able to sync my phone and music. No complaints at all.

More skilled staff needed. The mid-age woman at counter wasn't really helpful. She was unwilling to check me in, just because she doesn't speak Spanish and could't read my licence. The law in most States let foreigners drive a car using their own countries licences, there is no need for an international as she was asking me. "It was my lucky day" (as she said) thanks to this charming girl who does speak Spanish and was willing to complete the reservation.

I booked last minute on Priceline under emergency circumstances. Last minute bookings on weekends are risky as cars may not be available. I originally had a 9 AM reservation at Thousand Oaks AVIS and they had no car when we checked in - said to wait an hour till 10, and then at 10 still no car...maybe 11, maybe not. I was dreading having to drive to the Burbank Airport to get a car. I called here and though they "officially had no cars" the woman encouraged me to come over and they would find something. They were friendly, efficient and made it happen! The woman who helped me was extremely nice, warm and humorous, my husband called her, "literally the greatest person on earth". The mid-size car was clean and exactly what I needed, and the employee (unfortunately I can't recall her name) genuinely wanting to help me was wonderful.

The Camarillo branch a guy is so rude and just slaps charges left and right without explanation charge me all kind of fees late fee when I returned the car on time never again will I use this rental place I'll give them more review later.

****Camarillo Avis never again**** They also rent budget. This time I returned my rental ensuring any trash was removed. Previous post where John complained that I left an empty soda bottle in the car. I was out in the desert for the week on travel for work. It was windy and dusty. I returned the car to the Camarillo Avis. John happened to be outside and told me I need to wash the car or a 125 dollar charge. It annoyed the hell out me. I have returned rental cars over the years through rain and snow no issue or charge to clean the exterior. This guy is just lazy. He reduced the charge to 75 dollars. I truly miss Alex who ran this establishment prior to John. Below is the picture of my rental as returned. I going to see what corporate Avis can do, 1st tier unsuccessful, 2nd tier tomorrow. Work will pick up the charge so it's not money out of my pocket; it is the principle.

I ordered the car on Costco travel and it turned out to be a great experience. At the service desk in palm springs, the ladies were talking about how they didn't have any keys and that they were slammed. I get it during the opening up from COVID. I was worried that I would be stuck at the airport but they came through. Very clean car with a full tank. Returning the vehicle took about 15 mins but that's because the person behind the desk was finishing up with another customer. I would definitely use them again.

I was mislead by this place and there call center, I'm so upset because there's a lot to type and the worst part of it all Was when I made my reservation through the phone and was told that a certain vehicle was located and available in Camarillo and I let them know if they were sure because "I'm coming all the way from Port Hueneme" and I let them know I was going to be upset if when I got there and the vehicle wasn't there. so I express that so much over the phone.... So my reservation time was 2:30 , I get there exactly at 2:30 I walk up to the door and the door is locked it says they close at 4:00 pm and there was a note with a return time on the door which said 3:20 at this point I'm upset because my reservation is at 2:30 I need to be somewhere at 2:30 and I get a hold of the manager Kevin. Well Kevin let me know that there should have been someone at the door "open" that they don't close until 4:00 PM he's not sure why they are closed so he has me wait on the line while he contacts the employee of the shift and he told me "she"was going to be there back in the store in 2 minutes. I called him at 2:54 and doesn't get there until 3:15. Come to think I was on the phone with Kevin for only six minutes and he told me she was going to be there in 2 minutes ... well she wasn't !! she was extremely rude, completely unprofessional disgusting attitude. And this girl with blue eyes blonde hair had the nerve to tell me that I got her in trouble with her manager and her manager said that she was out for an hour 45 minutes and I expressed to her I was waiting outside the door at 2:30 I have every right to be upset and the fact that you left knowing there was a reservation at 2:30 and then you guys close at 4:00. The fact that she would be back at 3:20 is completely unprofessional business, knowing your open until 4:00 pm !! She might as well have just closed at the time she left. I honestly believe she need to get written up for this or need to be let go.! I couldn't not stand her!!!

I have been renting vehicles on a regular basis from Avis. I have been very impressed with how easy the process is. The employees are always very helpful. I have been dealing with John most of the time and he is awesome!

Very Unethical, tried to steel money from customer. They have the most unethical staff here. I am so sorry to see a young girl that lied about the condition of the car return to charge a big amount, bigger than the cost to rent the car to make money out of their customer. DO NOT go to this car rental service. I booked online to pick-up at 10am, and real time of checking out is 10:45am. the next day I bring the car in at 11:05, she charge me $65 dollar for an hr late and $85 for cleaning fee, while there is nothing wrong with the van, we only put all the seats down to transfer some small furniture. and bc the day i rent, it is raining outside so the car may get dirt with the rain and heavy sands or things from outside. So I prepaid the car for $81, got charge for non-sence things,which add up to $81+168= $249 for a jerky minivan for 1 day! Be careful with this store has no ethical in term of business service!!!!!

Horrible experience. Booked online and prepaid with my wife's credit card. In the past they have been able to use my card for incidentals when I pick up. They refused today and switched the agreement to her name causing a "young renter fee" because she is 24. They did not allow me to switch the payment to my card only. Very frustrating because I've done this many times at this SAME location with the SAME employee. Save yourself a headache and go to enterprise.
