Being in the industry for as long as I have been, I get amazed at how confidently these guys give the wrong advice and waste peoples money.

Call a local family owned pool company. These guys are a joke do business with. After spending thousands of dollars with them the pool system continues to need multiple $180 “diagnostic” visits where they literally do not listen to a word you say about the issue(s) that need to be addressed and have added components not requested, have caused damage to equipment and left the job. Then they want to charge for another “diagnostic visit”. Today Garrett the store manager informed me that the $600 keypad on my heater that they replaced just a few weeks ago failed and I would need to buy another since there is no warranty on a part they supplied and installed because it’s a “he said, she said situation” WHAT??? Also today, Garrett couldn’t fulfill a simple request for piece of threaded plastic pipe that their technician broke today during his diagnostic visit stating he needed to know the type of filter and valve even after I gave him the exact dimensions, instead of trying to solve this basic request, he showed total lack of concern for the issue that his technician caused and justified his zero customer service on my unreasonableness and literally laughed at me inside and outside the store in front of another customer. I have spent my last dollar with Leslie’s Pools.UPDATE 9.19.23: Called the customer service line (outsourced overseas) the friendly agent sounded like she was on a $2 headset and pretty much every other word gets cut out. Impossible to communicate with. She could not connect me to a local /regional Service Manager. Last week when I did speak to a Service Manager (regarding one of my previous issues with Leslie's Pool) the call I received on my phone came from a BLOCKED NUMBER so you can't return the call. Who runs a business like this?? I just eft a message for my Technician. Stay tuned...

They have the chemicals you need but it's a rip off. HD was out of chlorine so rather than drive out of town I stopped here knowing it would cost more. They charge over $10 per gallon for liquid chlorine. That's double what it should cost. The salesperson told me I should buy powdered chlorine because I will get more use out of it. I told him know thank you. His comment didn't make any sense. I think he meant shock which is not the same as liquid chlorine. I get the feeling he doesn't know what he's talking about and hoped I didn't either. 2 stars for just being there and having chemicals when you need them. Their prices are ridiculous though. I have no idea how anyone can regularly shop there. HD is 5 minutes away and half price.

Have everything for pools, but on the expensive side. Good knowledgeable people, do water samples and recommend solutions. I think some additives are not necessary

AVOID!! #1 Their prices are almost twice the amount of other local pool supply places. #2 I bought a case of chlorine and acid (didn't even open the cardboard packaging let alone the containers themselves) and went to return them the same day and they wouldn't accept them. Some BS about CA law. Funny because I returned the exact items from Home Depot that day and Home Depot returned them without question. AVOID!!

With no other patrons in the store whatsoever, the employee at this location refused to test our water because we have already had one water test this month. When I asked if we could pay for the free test, he replied that we could not. He also went on to give us information that contradicted the recommendations given by their own software on our previous test! After spending hundreds of dollars, we couldn’t get one water test... even when he had no other customers to help. We will be taking our business elsewhere.

I will never go to this store again. We bought hundreds of dollars of chemicals from this store. But when we went to get our pool water tested after using said recommended chemicals to make sure the water was in normal range, the owner or employee refused to test our water, saying we had already gotten it tested. Well that was BEFORE we added their chemicals. I couldn't believe my ears, what horrendous customer service. I will take my money elsewhere and never step foot in this store again. The store had no other patrons, so it wasn't like they were too busy to test our water to make sure it was in normal range now. I can now understand why there were no other patrons in the store--I'm sure many others have gone elsewhere as well as I see other complaints for this issue. The previous 5 star rating "for visibility" was for someone else who says "Don't waste your time coming here: you'll just be lied to, knowingly oversold on supplies, and hurried out." Our sad experience as well, like we had wasted our time visiting the store, it was humiliating. We felt our concerns did not matter and they were disinterested in helping us.

5 stars for visibility, ZERO stars for this staff. I have never been turned away at any Leslie's Pool for testing my water more than once a month, except for this one location, on a couple different occasions. I was told I already "used up" my free test limit for this month and if I would like to have my water tested, I would have to pay? I asked where in the store the water testing policy was but alas there was none, I'm just suppose to take the managers word for it. I would understand if they were busy, but that hasn't been the case. Perhaps it's laziness. Don't waste your time coming here; you'll just be lied to, knowingly oversold on supplies, and hurried out.

Do your research before you go in. Find exactly what you are looking for and what you will need for your pool or spa. If you don't, you will talked into buying plenty of stuff that your pool guy probably wouldn't buy and then you'll get stuck with because most chemicals cannot be returned. The location in Oxnard has a much more friendly and patient staff.
