We were part of a group that stayed Monday-Wed. Part of the reason we chose this hotel over other hotels was the on site restaurant. The majority of our group arrived on a chartered bus from 3 hours away and we had mobility challenged people in our group. We were told upon arrival the restaurant was closed for the duration of our stay. The closest restaurant was too far for some folks to walk. The people at the front desk were a little stand offish. We arrived at 2:30. Rooms weren't ready til 4pm. Upon check out my husband and I wanted to get an early start home. We traveled by car and it took 5 hours to get there. At first they tried to say I couldn't pay and check out until 11am with the rest of the group who were waiting for the bus. They gave in and I was able to check out at 10am. Not overly friendly staff that greeted us, and checked us out. The lady who gave us the keys the room at 4pm was sweet. The room was clean, and nice. The bed and pillows were comfortable. I wish I'd known "all" the rooms allowed dogs when we booked the room. I would have upgraded to a larger room. The walls were paper thin. I could hear every word my friends next door were saying. The water pressure in the shower wasn't very strong, and there was no shower massage option to adjust it. With long hair it's tough to get shampoo out with low water pressure. I wore a hat my whole stay. No soap dish. Used a cup to prevent the countertop from getting slimy with the bar hand soap.Water is tough to come by in Cambria. $5 for bottled water, The tap smells like sulfur, I couldn't drink it and worried about giving it to our two small elderly dogs.
The 2nd day I came down with a UTI which I know is from not drinking enough water the first day. Fortunately there was a grocery store in town and we loaded up on drinking water. Bring bottled water if you travel here! At 8am each day the maintenance staff was making loud noise outside all the rooms. Leaf blowers, loud talking... It woke everyone up.The gas fire pits were fun. Our group had a good time sitting around them, and roasting marshmallows. The place was completely booked we were told when we arrived and tried to upgrade. Don't understand with a hotel completely booked why the restaurant would be closed? They should have disclosed that ahead of time. Thank goodness my husband and I had a car and could chauffeur people to restaurants to eat, and to the grocery store. The beach was beautiful. Cambria is a cute town, nice shops and restaurants. All in all we had a good stay. I might try a different hotel next. There were quite a few nice hotels across from Moonstone Beach.

OceanPoint Ranch was one of our stops on our road trip along the Coast and it is very close to Hearst Castle and Sensorio Fields, Great location. Cozy and Cute stay..home away from home. The only thing I would point out is a musty damp smell in the room. Other then than that ..Great place to stay!

Such a great place to stay, perfect location and friendly professional staff members.
The fire pits are amazing to just hangout at and enjoy the afternoon evenings
Rooms: Comfy and clean
Nearby activities: Hearst Castle was only 15 minutes away, worth the trip to see it.
Walkability: Walked to the boardwalk and had a beautiful adventure on the beach and the tide pools
Food and drinks: Restaurant on site was yummy, simple food but tastey

We were looking forward to a nice quiet place by the sea so we booked a weekend stay in a “cabin” here. What we got was a motel room located less than 100 feet away from an outdoor wedding reception.
The restaurant was closed all weekend due to the wedding. The front desk staff downplayed our concerns and said they could not move us to another room.
We booked our stay a week before so they obviously knew the reception would be happening. We were not informed of the proximity of the reception to our room and the hotel staff did not seem to consider it a problem. Did I mention that we were not invited to the wedding?
We did get an email 2 days before our stay asking us if we wanted to upgrade. Glad we didn’t cause the nicer rooms were even closer to the party.
They might as well have had the dance floor in our room it was so loud. Not surprising as it was a wedding reception.
We were beyond disappointed.

No glasses in my room of any kind (paper coffee type cup) and the room phone did not work. Wanted to call front desk and my family in another room. This is also a fire code violation, they did fix it though...
I Paso Robles Wine country, no wine glasses no wine opener in the room, really... such a miss on the lil things. Keep in mind for the rate you are paying not much to ask..
Buy at front desk, a bit of an insult, I was told
Just drip coffee ay Cow Tipper, told that the machine is down / broken. Not the most friendly morning folks there either...

We were thinking of having a quiet weekend away, but it turned out to be quite eventful. There was a wedding taking place while we were there, which was fine initially. However, from 10:30 PM until 1 AM, there were people screaming and loud music coming from across the way. No one from the hotel addressed the situation, and we had to endure it. I complained to the company and received a letter of apology, but it felt too late for that. We won't be going back, especially considering the overpriced weekend rate.

This is neither a ranch nor a hotel, it’s a standard motel with slightly nicer rooms (but not even a closet to put your clothes). Restaurant is only open for breakfast. Probably still somewhat nicer than other options in the area but not worth the price tag.

Upon arrival our room was not clean. The floor was dirty, dusty, there was sand (also in the shower), there were chips and a used earplug on the floor. In the patio there was a tab from a can, a cotton swab and a used coffee cup. There were fingerprints and handprints on the windows to the patio. We asked the reception 4 times if the room could be cleaned (as it should be). This was promised each time, but it did not happen. On the 2nd day the cleaning lady had only put down clean towels. The trash cans were full and everything was still dirty. On the morning we left the reception employee indicated that cleaning would not be done until after 3 days. So there was no internal communication that our room should have been cleaned 2 days ago. We had an appointment that the management would call me on the 3rd day, because they started at 10am. They didn’t call me. We did not feel taken seriously at all and for that reason we decided to leave a day early.

A Staff member welcomed themselves into our room without knocking, with their own key around 9am while we were getting dressed, it wasn’t even time for us to checkout, checkout was at 11am….
He apologized and said he thought we had already checked out.
Which is odd because that morning we hadn’t visited the front desk to checkout so I don’t know why he thought we had already checkout out.
Please don’t walk into your guests room thinking they’ve checkout, maybe next time knock on the door before letting yourself in.
They are very hard to get ahold of and communicate with.
They charged our card extra charges such as a “pet fee” we didn’t even have any pets on our stay.
We tried contacting them several times throughout the day to resolve the extra charges but they do not answer and do not return calls.
They have a lot of major flaws they need to work on.
I think we’ll save ourselves the headache and go elsewhere on our next trip.

Have to correct my rating to 3 at best. Room service on request only and then they don’t guarantee it (?). You have to take your trash out yourself. Rooms are kind of dated. Cleanliness is 2-3. Location is good, close and private path to the beach but no ocean view. Restaurant breakfast only. Our room was on the first floor of a two story building. When they open a drawer in the room upstairs we could hear it. No A/C, no heat. Instead of a closet there is a metal tube hanging from the ceiling. Enough options to charge your phones. All in all too much money for what it is. Shame really, could be a nice place if someone would care.

Room full of mold, the manager knows, because the rooms waiting for customer with open windows so that the smell is not so present in first sight. No Service as asked, everything is a surcharge. 20yr old stuff in the kitchen, half of the belongings broken like the shower door, the toilet etc etc. we had 2 rooms, one normal and one rodeo suite! never again

Great hotel to stay at. Ideal if you are traveling to or through cambria with the family. Loads of activities to do alongside the beach. My only negative is that it was gloomy through the day. So pretty great hotel
