I came in to have my breaks replaced and to have my sparkplugs and wires checked and possibly replaced do to hesitation upon acceleration. I made an appointment over the phone, I was not quoted a price. When I arrived I was told that an inspection of both needed to and was charged heavily for them to hook a scanner up when no check engine light. Even know my appointment was at 0800hrs, i was not contacted until after 1300hrs When the macanic called and was confused. I explained that I just wanted the sparkplugs and wires checked and if needed replaced and the breaks replaced because the pedal was sinking almost to the floor. He said that he would do the inspection and the receptionist would get back to me when done. I was contacted at 1630hrs saying that the inspection was done and I had a list of things to be done. Rack and pinion, CV axel, and breaks. At the estimated price of $3200 for the work. I gave the OK and was told that the work would begin the next day and it would be approximately 5hrs of work. I received another call the next day stating that they needed more parts to do the work and after they needed to do an alignment. Once again I OKed the new parts and thought the alignment would be included in the work, I was mistaken and the alignment was done the next day. I was charged for everything. The next day I was called after the alignment was done on day 3 saying it was done and ready for pick-up. I asked for the total of all the work and was quoted for almost $3900. I was not happy but the work was done so I really didn't have much of a choice. I went and picked up my car and was given a copy of all the work and parts that I was charged. Among the charges was $200 for the computer scanner, and another $200 for 2 quarts of full synthetic power steering fluid. To this day my breaks are still squeaking luckily I can stop my car alot better now, and my steering has alot of play to the point I'm very uncomfortable driving on the freeway because it shifts me all over the road at freeway speeds.I have been going to Autotronics since it opened day one. (Well my mother did) and once I got my own vehicle I would go there. It has always been my auto shop so I was very surprised for the prices and issues I'm having. Hopefully I can get my car back in and address the issues, more so with out suprise charges.Services: Steering & suspension repair

I brought my 2012 Scion XB in to have my rear brakes replaced and the 2 service managers kept me well updated about the status of my car. I also love that there are loaner cars available on site.Service: Brakes

I received a flyer from Autotronics in Cameron Park.I had just moved up here from the Bay Area and did not know any auto repair businesses. I needed some work done on my 2018 Tacoma and talked with Miguel. He was polite and knowledgeable. We set an apt.They drove me home and picked me up when the car was done. The work was spot on and I would highly recommend their business.Thanks for taking care of my truck with excellent service. I will be a repeat customer.10 stars to everyone that works there. Went in to make an appointment to recharge my A/C. They took me that day and finished the job in less than 2 hours. Pre-COVID level of customer service. A/C blows nice & cold now. Thanks.

Per usual, the staff went above and beyond! They were flexible with my tight schedule and offered plenty of solutions including giving me a loaner vehicle for the week. My wife raved about how great autotronics is so I thought I would give them a try when I had my alternator go out on my car. When I walked in I met with Isaac. he was very professional friendly and attentive and provided me with an estimate of $1400 to replace the alternator. I dropped it off the thursday before the long memorial day weekend when they would be closed. Isaac told me that if he could get it done before the long weekend he would call me so I could pick up the car on friday. I told isaac friday would be best if he could get it done in time but that I could also pick it up the following tuesday. Isaac called me at 5:30 as they were closing Which gave me very little time to get back to him to try to coordinate a friday pick up. I called back just before 6:00 but everyone was already gone so I ended up having to wait until tuesday and going the whole long weekend without a vehicle. So far I felt a little inconvenienced but I wasn't that upset ...until I got the bill for the repairs. I had been told $1400 was the estimate and now they presented me with a bill for $1600. At this point I was getting a little upset. Eventually they took a hundred dollars off the top and explained that the estimate had not included tax.Overall it was not a terrible experience but it wasn't the best experience either. I wish they had communicated with me earlier on Friday to. Let me know that indeed the car would be done before the long weekend. And I felt a little slighted when they presented me with a higher bill than what had been estimated.Service: Auto maintenance

New owners at Autotronics - No longer provide excellent service!I have used Autotronics for several years and it has always been excellent. I had written a previous review that was 5 stars, and I raved about it to my friends. Unfortunately, after my last experience I will not be using them again. I brought a car in for a check engine light for a small leak in the evap system and also asked them to repair the windshield wipers that only go one speed. They did not communicate well at all, and they did not give me my car back when they said they would. They forgot to look at the windshield wipers even though I can see it listed on my paperwork. Both my husband and I had called and mentioned the windshield wipers to them, so not sure how they were missed. They changed a part in the evap system that my husband had already changed (purge valve), claiming it had a crack in it. The check engine light came back on within 2 days. I took the car back and they did rediagnose the issue for free (since they failed to fix it the first time). The communication was poor again and they again didn't return my car when they said they would. Nor did they call and explain the car wouldn't be ready that day. I had mentioned to the lady on the phone that things had not gone smoothly the week before and the service was not what I was used to. (This is how I found out there are new owners). The lady assured me it would be much better this time. They rediagnosed the car, and told me that another part in the evap system now needed to be replaced (leak detection pump), as well as the gas cap. I didn't let them change anything, as I had lost confidence in Autotronics. Turns out that part did NOT need to be replaced either. It was a gas cap all along. I wasted $400 to have them replace a part we had already replaced when the gas cap was the leaking part from the beginning.I'm very bummed to have lost my go-to car repair shop. The previous owners provided excellent customer service and excellent repair services, don't count on that from the new owners.

Took my truck in for alignment after hitting a deer. Tech made adjustments and straightened the steering wheel. When I took it for an insurance inspection, the truck failed because it was not properly aligned. I read their paperwork work and it said that they needed to do additional work. They never mentioned this. They cost me a return inspection fee, another alignment from a reputable shop and another trip across town.

I cannot stress enough how awesome the staff at autotronics are! This is my second time bringing my car here, they are honest, kind, helpful, high quality, and fast! Having to take your car to the mechanics is never a happy experience for me, but both times I've picked up my car from these guys and left feeling so grateful.
