We have been residents at Ponte Palmero for two years. Our experience here has been outstanding. The facilities are beautiful, the staff is kind and caring, and the companionship of fellow residence is a treasure. We often tell people we could describe life here as the luxurious feeling of a perpetual cruise that just stays at home. It is the best!Dr. Jeannette Boltz

My mother was 80 years old when she moved into one of the independent living duets at Ponte Palmero. Mom peacefully passed away in that same duet five weeks ago. After this 10 year stay there, I cannot imagine a better place for her. In independent living, you need to bring in your own caregivers. If care is needed a resident can move into assisted living. We chose to bring in our on Caregiver’s, so that Mom can stay in her wonderful duet.Early on mom was very active in all of the Ponte Palmero extracurricular activities and she appreciated the staff and the opportunities she was given to go winetasting and to theatrical productions. Mom started a poker group at Ponte and she was active in it until Covid. She joined the book club and the wine tasting group.Everyone at Ponte treated my mom as if she was their own mom. They treated her with love and respect. They told her she looked good when she did and tried to make sure that her food was prepared to HER liking. The maintenance group would stop everything to come help her if she needed something like a plumbing fix. When mom passed away peacefully last month, the staff at Ponte did everything they could to help me take care of her stuff and get out of the property quickly. In this day and age when it’s so tough to make sure your elderly parents get the love and support they need, I can’t imagine doing that without mom being at Ponte Palmero.Sincerely, Ellyn D

Pointe Palmero, Cameron Park, CAThree Stars for a nice facility and well appointed. BUT 1 Star for economic friendliness for us folks who are still 2 persons & 60+ years married! NOTE MUCH easier for 1 (ONE) than if you are 2!! TRUE everywhere! The sad part is this community is profit intense. Their prices are out of control for seniors on medium+ incomes. Their floor-plans for cottages are out of control and completely wrong and outside the law in the state of California. A so-called cottage at 1300+ square feet actually is a little over 1000 ft.² because they include the garage which is illegal in California. (Garages are quoted as 1.5-2 Car NOT.)They also quoted as a two bedroom. Also not true. The listed 2 Bedroom are actually a 1 Bedroom + Office/Den at a starting at $6700 + if u have a spouse $1500) Seniors beware and do your research before you bite. If you are two people, you will pay an additional $1500 per month for your wife or your spouse. (SO, u can have a Sous Vide Filet EVERY night to split.)That's a huge high price to pay for a 2nd person who does not cost anywhere near that amount for this facility w/o assisted living but for "Independent Living", nuts, in my opinion! The local fire department complains of too many calls from the cottages simple assistance, like helping a resident who fell without serious injury, to get up. No one at this facility will give you any help whatsoever. The only help you get is when they move you to assisted-living which is tiered. MONEY MONEY & PROFITS from your senior aging. 20 year old, and granted an attractive community IF you have BIG $$$$. For 2, cottage, $8200 per month, meals included. $100,000 annually in 2023!That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

I have only worked here for 2 days as a server. Staff with longer hair do not tie it back and I witnessed a kitchen manager scooping ice cream while getting her hair in it. None of the cooks wear cloves nor do they wash their hands. I attempted to put cloves on and was told I am “not allowed to wear cloves”! I witnessed the same kitchen manager whose name starts with a “C” being aggressive with a couple suffering from Alzheimer’s. The place is dirty and stinks bad as well! The food is all processed and they do not provide a cleanly environment in the kitchen…

I used to work at this property. It is overpriced for the residents and underpaid for the staff. I cared for my elderly residents as a staff member. but couldn’t get paid a living wage. I had to move on to another facility.

My parents have lived here for several years in one of the independent houses. They love their house and the overall community BUT... the food is mediocre at best and the kitchen seems to have constant turnover. Often at dinner they will wait for 45 minutes to an hour for their meal to arrive and when it does it's cold. Given that food is one of the main activities that all seniors love, it's a big disappointment that they can't get this right. They've made suggestions, written complaints and NOTHING get fixed. If you or your loved ones are considering moving here, please go in with open eyes.....

Ponte has been a wonderful place for my Mom. Her apartment is beautiful, the staff are always so caring and thoughtful, and the facilities are maintained very well. During this very challenging time, they have kept their residents safe and healthy, which is an amazing accomplishment! Very grateful for the leadership and staff at Ponte!

My mother looked at 6 different communities. Once she toured Ponte Palmero, she knew it would be an excellent choice. The community, people, and food were excellent. She joined a fun group of ladies for a Sunday Dinner. They made her feel so welcomed. We had toured communities where the dining room was silent. People ate quietly and did not interact. Ponte Palmero was different. People were laughing, talking, and enjoying dinner with wine. We were impressed with a menu that offered several different options. This was important because my mom was eating too much processed food with too much sodium, while living at home alone. Here she had the choice of salads, vegetables, homemade soups, and she loved the fish options they offer almost every night in addition to steak or chicken options. My mom loves her new home because it does not feel like a senior facility. It feels like staying in a nice condo on vacation. I am so happy my mom has new friends and is enjoying herself. Great place.

We are so glad we found Ponte' Palmero. We have some wonderful, caring friends here. Shopping for groceries isn't necessary unless there is something special you need. The food is very good with a good variety of seasonal foods. If you don't feel well enough to come to the dining room for dinner, you may order your dinner over the phone and it will be delivered with a smile and no charge. Your duet or apartment is cleaned weekly and if something goes awry all you have to do is call maintenance for an emergency or the front office for a requisition.
