I’ve always had a great experience with Safeway Pharmacy. The pharmacist and staff are consistently, courteous, helpful, and professional. They take the time to provide any information. I may need to make informed decisions about my medication’s. Their customer service is excellent, and I truly appreciate their dedication to patient care. I highly recommend this pharmacy.

Awful staff. They look for any excuse to not fill your prescription.
I never argue about controlled substances, but I suffer from adrenal insufficiency and CANNOT run out of Prednisone. For some reason, they think they can override doctors. It’s crazy. I feel harassed at this point. I have been left without my LIFE-SUSTAINING PRESCRIPTION, well-documented by several specialists. Yet every time something changes, they cause me to run out. They will claim that they can’t get a hold of the office. YEAH, IT TOOK ME MONTHS TO GET AN APPOINTMENT!!! IT IS A SPECIALIST’S OFFICE; THEY ARE DIFFICULT TO TALK TO. IT’S NOT EVEN A DOSAGE INCREASE, WHY AN INVESTIGATION??? I have never had a pharmacy this bad when it comes to a non-controlled substance.

They were great until there was a profit to be made off of medications that have had unreasonable shortages. Now all of a sudden the pharmacist is trying to get "co-pays" that are not part of my insurance plan. When I refused and informed her of the "mistake" she refused my medications. Then when my husband went in he was able to get it from a different pharmacist with no problem. Plan on reporting this to my insurance and licensing.

Literally one of the worst pharmacies I've ever used. Quick rundown why:1. They filled one of my husband's RXs for a year and failed to run it under his insurance each time. Even though they had his current insurance on file. $13 a month vs the $0 it would have been under his insurance. Husband didn't know he had $0 copay.2. I had a RX that I was unable to pick up on time, and they returned it to stock. However, they failed to reverse it off my insurance when they did this, which resulted in my insurance thinking it was too soon to fill when I attempted to call it in a week later. Because of that, I lost one of my refills and I had to pay for it out of pocket that month.3. Deleted one of my RXs because they thought it was a duplicate. Nope. It was a higher strength of a medication that I was supposed to titrate up to. Instructions to put it on hold were included by my doctor and then verified by myself, but they just straight up deleted it.4. Was given unsolicited medical advice by a pharmacy clerk. Anyone working in a medical field knows that this is a HUGE no-no, and is wildly unprofessional. They are not trained or credentialed to be giving medical advice.5. My insurance only allows for a 30 day fill at a time. Not 60 days. Not 90 days. Only 30 days at a time. They attempted to run one of my RXs as a 60 day supply, and then we're confused why it was being rejected by my RX insurance. It took two weeks to sort this out because they couldn't give me a straight answer WHY it was being rejected. I kept being told "it's too soon" or "your insurance needs a prior auth" or "your insurance doesn't cover it anymore I guess". I was able to figure out what was going on by calling my insurance and spending an hour and a half on the phone with them. They were the ones who told me why it was being rejected.6. At the same time as #5 above, they attempted to fill a different strength of the same medication. It obviously rejected. Again, they were confused about what was going on, and like I said above I was the one who had to sort it out.Aside from all of the above, they are surly and argumentative. Their excuse for the above issues was "well, we're always so busy" or "we're understaffed" or "we have staff rotated in here from other pharmacies". I don't care, that doesn't excuse any of the above. It would explain why it takes days to get a RX filled, but it does not explain any of the above. I've lost money, time, and multiple medications due to their carelessness. I should have had all my medications transferred from them a while ago.

I called to prescribe an antibiotic over the phone for a patient who has a tooth infection, and the pharmacist refused to fill the prescription over the phone. She is requiring an online prescription only, even though I am away from my office and physically can not send the Rx. I called another pharmacy and they were happy to fill it for me.

So for a year my medication has been a weekly hassle, but every time there was a problem, wether it be from the doctor or lab test. Abdul (forgive the spelling) took time out of his day to fix it and has saved me any times. The whole staff has been good as well. Wether it be kindness or friendliness. Thanks you Abdul and crew!

I had the worst service ever last evening. The clerk didn't know how to ring up coupons for the person in front of me. It took at least 15 minutes for her to complete an order of fewer than 10 items. Once I finally had my turn, there was no apology for the delay. There was a person behind me that already unloaded her items when the clerk turned her light off and told that person she was closed and had to take her items to another register. There was no option but to wait for this person as all the lines had multiple people with large orders.

1 star for being the SLOWEST that ever existed. Currently at their sandwich line-- 2 families of 4 in front & the sandwich clerk never calls for back up. Literally workers wandering around the back...

This has been my home grocery store for close to 20 years. The staff is friendly and helpful. Especially now that social distancing seems to be the new norm'. They kept the doors open and still offer to bag and help me out to the car. This particular Safeway is why we moved up the hill. Thank you for being our small town resource.

Drive Up & Go Experience First time using this service during the Stay In Place Order. I drove up to the well designated spot, and called the number on the sign. Associate arrived in just a couple of minutes, I popped the trunk for him, but he approached me and needed my signature! The reason I shopping online to to protect me and your Associates. In lieu of a signature, I would have preferred to have shown my Driver's License thru the windshield During the Stay in Place Order, I would recommend shopping at Target and Raley's which do not require this meaningless signature procedure.
