Loved Loved Loved this extraordinary beautiful place to stay. We went on a day trip to Sly Park and it was getting dark and we were tired so decided to spend the night and found this most awesome place to stay. Clean, comfortable and friendly. Because it was from 1800s wondered about haunting spirits, but the vibes were all good. Happy spirits and welcoming atmosphere. Def coming back. 💋💞💞💞💞

We only did a tour of this property, but it looks so cozy and quirky. The rooms are small, but stylish, and you can tell the hotelier has a real passion for what she's doing. Cool community spot!

My Husband and I got married in March of this year (2025) up in Placerville and wanted a place for our bridal party to stay with us after the wedding when we found the perfect place, The Extraordinary Camino Hotel! I reached out to the owner, Raven, who was super friendly, very responsive and helpful from beginning to end. She openly invited me to come visit the hotel before booking to make sure it was what we were looking for. When I met her she was so awesome! You can tell her whole personality and passion is put into that hotel and I loved it. We ended up booking the entire hotel for our guests and ourselves and everyone had such a wonderful time. Raven so kindly allowed us to check in early so we could bring our things by before heading to our wedding venue on our wedding day. This was AMAZING of her and we are so thankful. Everyone loved their rooms as the beds were SO comfortable, everything was very clean and organized and overall was just perfect. It felt like home away from home and we will definitely be returning and recommending to family/friends. Thank you so much, Raven for the wonderful/comfortable/gorgeous space and hospitality!

I recently stayed at The Extraordinary Camino Hotel and was impressed with the style, comfort and proximity to South Lake Tahoe. I stayed in the Hawaiian Room (all rooms have lovely themes) it was clean, beautifully decorated and very comfortable. I enjoyed have a coffee maker in my room as well as tea options in the main kitchen. I met some nice people in the main community room and the whole place just had a nice vibe. The new owner has done a wonderful job with the place and I will be returning!

I visited this EXTRAORDINARY hotel last week and the new owner has done an amazing job! I toured all the rooms out of curiosity and they all looked beautiful & comfy. It's a great place to stay!

We stayed passing through on our way back from a weekend of snowboarding at Sierra at Tahoe.
What we thought was just a fun place to pass though ended up being a great place to make into a full future destination. Each room is fun, eccentric, classic old mining town vibes with updated aesthetics. Great Pool table in front of the fire place, and kitchen to cook your own meals.
A block down is a cider brewery with a Fantastic cider tasting room. We'll come back to Camino for a full weekend trip.

They didn’t clean my room and they don’t have staff on site so I slept on top of the covers the first night. Wasn’t till the next day that I saw the blood on the shower curtains. So gross. They moved me to another larger room with a claw foot tub and it was also filthy. The tub had a bunch of hair in it. When I told the staff the person and sent pictures she basically accused me of lying about both the other room and the tub being dirty. I asked for my money back and they refused.
The down stairs main room was super cute, the full kitchen was a plus and clean, the location is great; but the staff hospitality was bad and there is no one on site.

We stayed here at least once a year for many years. Our children (now college age) have wonderful memories of this bed and breakfast from the time they were in early elementary school. It was our back to school tradition. Many of our family vacation photos were taken on the front porch. Sadly, they no longer rent single rooms. My family has been so saddened by this change. It is our hope that one day soon the Camino Inn will begin renting individual rooms again.

Update: My family and I attempted to stay here in 2022 for our first post-COVID vacation. We found out that they no longer rent single rooms, but only the entire building for large parties and events. We were very disappointed, and ended up not visiting the Apple Hill region at all that year. I'm sure the place is still nice, but sadly we will no longer be staying here again.Original review: My family and I have stayed here a few times over the past two years. The provided breakfast is always delicious and on time, and the staff are incredibly friendly and helpful. The accommodations are comfortable and clean. I highly recommend this establishment.

I like this place because it feels like I'm at home. The innkeeper is awesome. She's very friendly and if I need anything she is right there giving it to me.
