“Tragically, one of my dear friends was killed in an airplane crash at the Reno Air Races. He was a member of the famous Condor Squadron at Van Nuys Airport. The day after the incident, I went in to order a large sympathy arrangement to take to the squadron. Two hours later, the beautiful flowers were waiting for me.
