“Came here in need to have my chain fixed/shortened. Raul was the one who assisted with the information & did the chain fixing. He was very polite, professional, & helpful. It took a total of 4 minutes for him to fix the chain link & had us on our way. I recommend this place as it's friendly, fast, & informative with the questions one might have regarding the business they do.”

“The AC was kicking!! 104 outside.
The new movie theater is pretty great. The parking lot around Target was getting full under cover.
Shake shack came and went, like a thief in the night. Way too expensive, plus they wanted a tip at the freaking register! I never went back.
Blaze pizza closed before I could spend my Costco gift cards there. Boo.
Pinstripes has a cozy little bowling alley and bocce ball.
Edit: Pinstripes closed too.”

“As the author of The Grant Colson Thriller Series and SERA Archives thriller novels, I always notice locations with strong visual design, and The Commons at Calabasas is a very attractive shopping area.

The layout has an upscale feel with a mix of higher-end stores. You’ll find brands like Cartier and Rolex alongside anchor spots like Barnes & Noble, which gives the whole area a balanced mix of luxury and everyday browsing.

The design leans more toward an open, walkable layout rather than a traditional enclosed mall, which makes it more pleasant to spend time moving through the space. It feels clean, polished, and well maintained.

Parking is available, though it can get busy depending on the time of day. When I visited, there was also some construction going on, which made parts of it feel a bit more active than usual.

I’ve also found myself walking through areas like this while working on The Maui Desire Romance Series, where the combination of atmosphere, architecture, and people creates a natural backdrop for scenes.

Overall, it’s a stylish and well-kept shopping center in Calabasas with a good mix of stores and a strong visual presence.”

“Great plaza with different food and drinks places to visit. There a lot of parking spots here and lighting at night time. My favorite in this plaza is Corner Bakery, Western Bagel and Starbucks. There also a grocery store here as well.”

“A lot of mom and pop shops in this area. If you are a window shopper or shopping for things Encino is a great place to look. The banks & Grocery stores located here too are very convenient. It's fun to take something home to eat after doing errands in the area.”

“Pretty cool spot the security guard knew I had walked out to the parking lot to smoke and watched me put my cigar out .. yet still came up to me and told me not to smoke near the shopping section he probably wanted to feel like he had some kind of authority over me so I just complied and said yes sir it's not lit have a nice day .. I really wanted to go off on him because he absolutely knew I was being respectful and waiting on my party to go tanning in planet fitness .. some people are useless and trust me security probably isn't needed at that location at all .. I'll leave it at 5* just because I think the place has a nice atmosphere about it..”

“I had a wonderful time here when I came with my friends to eat at Red Lobster that is in this center. I arrived earlier than them so I took the time to check out the stores here. I visited the Target, Trader Joe's, Michaels, Old Navy, TJ Maxx, Bath and Body Works and World Market.

There was ton of parking here because they were not busy for a Friday night. There even a AMC theater here as well. After we finish our dinner, we went to the Crave Cafe that is also here but toward the back of the plaza. There was one store that was vacant and all the lights were off so if you were walking around the center, it will feel like a haunted house.”

“Outback, Sushi, Coffee Bean & Paris Baguette, what's not to love? I only wished Coffee Bean stayed open longer like until midnight at least one day a week. Maybe Saturday night. 10pm feels way too early to shut down.”

“I rarely go to Del Taco anymore. Right next to it is denny's which I have been frequently Visiting. But for whatever reason it doesn't acknowledge that I go to denny's.”

“Some stores closed but the Regal Theater is still there. But your tickets online or in the theater. Starbucks has regular porcelain cups for dining in and some food... sit outside by the fountain and watch the birds out people watch. Of course, if you gotta run, you can, of course, get the to go cups.
Farmers Market on weekends, sometimes music and art nights...
A credit union and a bank area also open. There's a Tesla charging station, with plenty of spots, on the West side, as is a Kaiser clinic facility.”

“Variety of stores makes the shopping center pretty nice, plenty of parking and there's frozen yogurt & Baskin-Robbins, Pavillion (nicely renovated) Platt dental (which isn't recommended due to erroneous and unethical billing practice). There's a bagel place and the dollar store. Chase bank and Fallbrook vetinary hospital (extremely expensive due to their outsourcing billing , accounting, and admistrative services)”

“This place is somewhat like Ross, we found the luggage were looking for. The price was lower from the internet. The quality and brand name merchandise are fairly advertised.”

“Lots of food choices in this newish mini strip mall. They even have some restaurants on the second floor. Parking is a mess and not enough to support the crowd but at least there is parking near the adjacent seats.”

“pretty convenient little spot on Ventura when you need food, shopping, or a quick stop nearby. It’s not a huge shopping center, but it has that useful Valley plaza feel where you can pull in, grab what you need, and keep moving. I like places like this because they’re easy and practical instead of being a whole mall situation. Parking and traffic can get annoying around Ventura depending on the time, but overall it’s a solid local center.”

“I am going there only for one thing: to shop in the Russian store Bazar. They have freshly cooked food every day, they have cold cuts all kinds of fruits, a huge range of dairy produce, and they have all kinds of things. Like a real delicatessen. I don't know about other stores there but the whole object is clean with a lot of parking.”

“Is a decent mall , located on the ground floor along Ventura Blvd where everybody can buy food, drinks, ice cream to chill in summer etc and other stuff, however I can't tell the name of the places because I not sure how this works and I don't want any issues , but whenever anyone drives in, you will find out, that's all I can say, plus it was my 1st time coming to this location, and I wish I could have found it earlier but I don't live nearby, however when I'm around I'll definitely have to come again.”

“As with many shopping plazas, El Paseo Simi took a hit in occupancy during/after the COVID-19 pandemic. Thankfully, the property is still being maintained, and a number of businesses remain.Largest anchors are Kohl's and Von's, with restaurants like The Habit Burger, Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf, Jersey Mike's, Coldstone Creamery, and others still there for shoppers / diners. We recently stopped in for burgers at The Habit and sat outside in the courtyard adjacent. The large water feature / fireplace sets a substantial visual tone. Though it was a little breezy that day, once it warms up a bit, it is a great spot to relax and enjoy your food.It would be great to see something go in where World Market used to be. I'm sure the shopping center managers wish the same! It's definitely true that commercial retail spaces are undergoing an evolution. Not everything can (or should) come from online shopping. It's good to go out and be able to see / touch items that you're considering buying. This large center with lots of parking, very nice landscaping, and planned outdoor spaces would be a good place to settle for certain kinds of businesses. Hope to see more the next time we're here.”

“100% awesome. I attended a family baby shower for my nephew and his lady. Sweet gathering and the Pinnacle conference facility served us well. I really loved the outside patio with the view of the kids playing outside of Gus' BBQ... again the family couldn't pick a better location. Thank you Danny & Kate...”

“Half of the business buildings are vacant. Only real busy sections are where the 98, Joan's and neighborhood market (Walmart) are located. Careful entering through the corner where Taco Bell is, lots of traffic there. Other than that very pleasant experience with my shopping.”

“Pretty calm location however lots of the retail and restaurant places are closed. There is the Cheesecake Factory and a Chinese restaurant and pizza place and Ben and Jerry’s, however other locations that where restaurants are closed also there are not much shopping places. There is a cosmetology school and a spa and dentist office. It looks like businesses have offices there such as security guard businesses and a college has its campus there too.”
