Capitola Fitness has been amazing for my Grandma. She’s 90 years old and takes their swim aerobics class and loves it. The front desk has let my boyfriend and I come in to show her a couple of moves and this has meant more to us than the gym will ever know as we’ve taught her how to get up from the ground on her own. In three month of her practicing that along with swim and the machines, she has made so much progress. This is the best gym for seniors in Santa Cruz. A great community of women, it’s keeping my grandma young at heart. It also has the basics if you’re not a senior and need to get a lift in. Can’t thank this gym enough for letting us show her some loves.

Great local gym. On the older side, but you get all of the equipment necessary for your workouts. Also has a swimming pool and 2 saunas which are great after working out. Not too crowded, not fancy, good working hours. You get what you pay for

this is a great gym tucked away in Capitola! They have a pool and classes I’m taking the tai chi class; they also have a full gym with exercise equipment. There’s a very nice staff that greets you with a smile, and several personal trainers. I highly recommend this gym I just joined and I’m very happy with it.

I have been coming for years. Good aquatic classes. A nice medium-sized club. With all the typical workout equipment. It has a large outside covered Pavilion for classes. Super-friendly staff.

I mainly go to exercise in the pool for a bad hip. The hot tub is nice too. Clean, friendly and close.

I have been a member of this Gym for years and I have always put up with the "no frills" aspect of this gym because it was so close to my house. I don't go to the gym on a regular basis, sometimes miss an entire month, but I liked that I could walk to the gym and they had a pool. The staff is fine, but that is where the compliments for this place stop. The treadmills and elliptical machines are in terrible condition, electrical tape holding the hand grips on, along with the foot pads that dangerously slide out if you are not careful. A few requests over the past have been made to replace equipment but nothing has been done. The Steam room and Sauna are fine but the Hot Tub, no thank you. The tub shares the same floor as the bathrooms that flanked both sides of the tub. They never put any money into this place and I was surprised when the built the outdoor space for classes, I was optimistic that they might make a few more improvements, unfortunately not. Recently due to the COVID-19 crisis the gym has changed pricing policies and now charges $5 every time you come to the gym in addition to the monthly fee. Just to give an example, If I pay $40 a month and I got the gym for a swim once a week, my monthly gym membership is going to cost $60. $60 a month for a old run down fitness center is not for me.

Enough equipment for the average joe, pretty mellow gym, great for people that don't like dealing with crowds.

This gym has a super friendly staff in a low key workout environment. The other people working out are friendly, non-pretentious, real people. I use the pool, weights, and cardio equipment. I also enjoy relaxing in a deck chair in the sun after a swim. I'd definitely recommend it!

The place is pretty dirty and they really screwed me out of some money, suggesting I put the membership on hold to avoid paying an early cancellation fee and then having to pay anyway, so I ended up paying even more than just cancelling when I wanted to. A man named Kevin at the front was incredibly rude both on the phone and in person. The manager was nice and was able to answer my questions without getting rude and defensive.

I want to give a shout out for Zach Dillon's Fit For Life class! He has small classes where he focuses on form to prevent injuries. I am exercising to help rehab an injured back and have had remarkable results with his training.
