It's hard to find this location and driving to it from the highway is a bit tricky with the turns. I ended up going into the wrong parking lot at first and then had to use my phone to make sure I was walking in the right direction towards the post office to then discover they had a parking lot right outside. Aside from those difficulties its a good place to ship a package with helpful staff and other post office norms like shipping supplies. This is a good option if you're avoiding going into town, but it's a bit hard to find and get to your first time.

Be aware this is my experience when mailing an envelope here. Mailed an envelope on 12/5/24 and put it in the blue box inside post office. As of today 12/27/24 it has not been delivered. I hope what happened a couple years ago, when I mailed another envelope inside this post office doesn't happen again. My mail was stolen and someone hacked my checking account. They used my checking account number and ordered checks and started writing checks over the hill.
It was a pain, had to close account and open a new one. Tried calling post master but phone just rang and rang for several days. I am monitoring my account. But have lost faith in this post office. Post master do you have a problem there??

These have to be the daftest people I have ever had to deal with. Ignorant incompetent idiots. Mangled and ruined $500 in invitations with over $85 in stamps. All stamped return to sender over $4.75. Everything was lossly tossed back in a parcel locker over a week later.

Avoid at all cost. Customer service is atrocious. Nobody wants to work and nobody cares or wants to help you. Had a package shipped from here only to be either stolen from an employee or driver. Over $500 only to be told sorry we are sending you a $100 check for our mistake. No one picks up the phone or calls anyone back. Go to any other place. Save your money and time.

Renewed my PO Box online, but the employees in Capitola forgot to check the online renewal report, and sent all my mail back erroneously and closed my PO Box without any notice. Complete morons, no concept of or interest in providing good customer service. They don't care, and the postmaster is never available to discuss the appalling lack of knowledge and customer service of the front counter employees. When I showed them the proof of online payment they just said "hmmm, I guess we made a mistake". Pathetic levels of incompetence.

Another pkg claimed to have been delivered but not received. So many of the substitute / part time carriers are incompetent. My mail is mis-delivered frequently by these bozos. My regular carrier is great.

Clerks here have no concept of customer service and cannot be bothered to address your needs. I got a notice from another carrier that a package for me had been handed off and accepted by this post office. When I went to pick it up, they insisted that the package was "not yet ready" and had not been scanned by their systems. I asked them, since I was there and there was NO OTHER CUSTOMER in the post office and there were two of them there at the desk, could they please see if they could find the package so I wouldn't have to come back. One of them just kept repeating that the package was not ready and I had to come back the next day. All this in a very annoyed tone of voice and irritated expression on her face. Absolutely no help at all, no sense of service and just plain lazy. This is not the first time this has happened. I normally don't post negative reviews after just one bad experience, but these folks are very consistent with delivering poor customer experience.

POST BOY MACED MY DOG WITH MY 2 YEAR OLD PRESENT - I absolutely hate writing this because life is way too short to waste energy on anything remotely negative. But at this point, there needs to be a WARNING as the Capitola Post Office has a vile creep on their payroll. This mail delivery boy has been delivering mail to our home for at least the last 2 years if not longer. He's very aware of our dog, and knows we have a 2 year old daughter. For years, I've attempted friendly eye contact, and "hellos" with this guy to no avail. It's apparent he's unfriendly and unhappy - no problem. We have a dog that barks when our house is approached, as most dogs do. We've tried shock collars and training but it's just his instinct to bark when the house is approached. Never once has our dog been anything more than a nuisance nor has he ever harmed anyone. He's actually an extremely loving dog, just has an intimidating bark. It's become very clear this mail person takes our dog's barking personally and is extremely angry and cold towards us about it. We've discussed this with the post office and they agreed that if our doors to our gated outside were open, the mailman would not deliver (which is totally fine). Our mailbox is OUTSIDE the fence and the only outdoor space we have (where our dog seldom is), is fenced. The mailman has never ever been under any threat and this should be where this story ends. Today, we had one of first warm days and after work around 5pm, opened our doors to our gated front yard for our 2 year old daughter and dog to play in the fresh air. Our dog is very rarely in our front yard and 99% of the time, the mailman delivers without our dog making noise. Today, the mailman saw that our doors were wide open, approached our house with his pepper spray in his hand, came up to our fence and MACED our dog in his eyes TWICE. I was standing right there, heard the dog bark and immediately came out to stop the barking (not knowing it was even towards the mailman) and witnessed him spraying our dog in the face. Our daughter was right there, in and out of the yard and thank god, happened to have come in seconds before this happened as she is often behind the fence out of sight, right where this creep sprayed. This was completely unprovoked. He was well aware our french doors were wide open, and had zero intent to deliver our mail. He came over to our house, with the mace in his hand (can see it in the Ring video), with the sole intent of spraying our dog. THE ENTIRE THING IS ON CAMERA. I was in shock and extremely upset as I have a child running around with a dog covered in burning, oily spray all over him. Our dog's face was completely swollen, eyes watering. I immediately grabbed a wet cloth to clean him off and myself and my daughter instantly began choking on the remnants of this horrible mace. I have respiratory issues, to make it worse. The USPS guidelines are VERY clear that this spray is to ONLY be used on a dog that is attacking. This is NOT to be used indiscriminately in the presence of children and adults. Our dog that he knows very well, was behind the fence and in no harm to him. He was well aware our front doors were open and deliberately approached our yard (where he has no reason to be), to spray our dog with our 2 year old present. This is absolutely NOT someone who should be trusted to approach people's homes, gathering insight about people's personal information through mail and observing behaviors by frequenting houses. I work in hiring for a large corporate company and cannot imagine why anyone would employ this person for anything that involves working with the public. We adore our neighbors here, our lovely UPS driver who waves to us everywhere we go and brings our dog treats. It's a lovely place to live and it's so unfortunate this creep is in the neighborhood on a daily basis making us all uncomfortable. This was an absolute unprovoked attack on our home and family. I can't wrap my head around someone who would
