“We decided to celebrate our 3 year anniversary here at Shadowbrook and we weren’t disappointed. They have a small train car looking transportation to and from the parking lot that was awesome. Also available classic looking taxis that can take you to and from your vehicle. Amazing style and ambiance.Emily was our server for the evening, and she was fairly helpful. It did seem as if she was upselling a bit as all recommendations were the more expensive items however that’s understandable as server income is dependent on how much we spend.Bread and butter for table 5/5Dirty martini 4/5 (first martini we’ve tried)Ahi Poke 5/5Clam Chowder 5/5Butcher’s Filet 4/5 (steak was low on flavor - subbed out the Pomme Purée for potato gratin)Chocolate meltdown 4/5Complementary chocolate ganache for anniversary 5/5Presentation on all items was incredible. “The Monarch Cove is set on a cliff in Capitola with an ocean view of the Pacific Ocean. We stayed in the Monarch Grove, a romantic getaway within 3 miles from the Shadowbrook, so you can take advantage of their free taxi service and get picked up in an old school Shadowbrook cab. I highly recommend this for a weekend getaway!”

“The movers were very professional and did a great job. They kept me informed throughout the whole process. They had a lot of experience with moving furniture, which was nice because I had a lot of furniture to move. After the move, the movers were very helpful with getting everything out of my house into the storage space.”

“"A perfect getaway to enjoy with the family! The place is simply beautiful, with large green areas ideal for a picnic and outdoor activities. Plus, they are dog-friendly, which is great for pet lovers! However, the train ride didn't meet my expectations. The seating position makes it difficult to fully enjoy the scenery, and I ended up with a sore neck. I wouldn't recommend it especially if you have small children as they might get bored. Still, when the train ? arrives to the parking lot provides a great opportunity to capture gorgeous photos of the train. A mixed experience, but worth the visit for the natural surroundings and family fun!"”

“Fantastic place to have a tasty glass of wine or to enjoy a flight of five different wines. Bargetto offers three different flights, although their bottle purchase selection exceeds that. My favorite for the day was a reserve Pinot and a reserve Cab. They have a large patio overlooking the Soquel Creek which is my favorite place to sit (well, not when it's raining). Lastly, the staff is friendly and knowledgeable, and you will leave feeling like you made some new friends. 5/5!”

“Absolutely best beef ribs in town falling off the bone , I highly recommend trying them and asking for a side of Mango Habanero sauce on the side , and don't forget to pair it with some English wings , amazing place and superb Staff , they make you feel like home , great upstairs bar as well and live music and events always going on, much love and keep up the amazing food and positive Vibes”

“I can't overstate how amazing our wedding at the Hollins House was. The staff at the Hollins House made every step of the process fun and exciting. My wife and I had an incredible experience that exceeded any and all of our expectations. The venue speaks for itself, but the food, service, and atmosphere match it step for step. “The Sesnon House is the perfect wedding venue! Our wedding was so beautiful and beyond our expectations. The staff are such warm and wonderful people. The venue comes with a wedding planner who knows the ins and outs so well. The culinary school with chef Jeremy provided great service and delicious food. We truly feel this venue was everything we ever wanted and it is very affordable especially when compared to other venues in the area. 10/10 recommend this for your wedding or event. They easily accommodated our party of 80 and had plenty of space for more.”

“We had the most beautiful wedding ceremony and reception at Felton Guild this past Saturday. It was an absolute blast! The venue is gorgeous and the perfect size (we had a little under 70 guests). Kathy was extremely helpful and responsive throughout all the planning and had fantastic vendor recommendations. We hired everyone she suggested and it went so smoothly. I highly recommend Felton Guild!”

“Seascape Resort has always been a destination with amazing views and unforgettable beaches, but now that we spent a week there in a condo, we noticed how much the entire place needs a face-lift. Sorry ownership group, but the 90s were a while ago, and you need to invest in the property. The condos are mostly private, so I can't comment on those. Food is meh at best. Asked the Sanderlings waitress for a croissant and a cup of tea, "No, sorry we don't offer that." Times are changing, and so should the resort.Walkability: You can't wait to walk on the beach, but the only other walking destination is across the street to the shops and restaurants.”

“Rented an office while staying in Felton for summer 2023. Katherine and Ken were excellent communicators and a pleasure to work with. Great shared workspace, clean, quiet, good internet, tasty coffee! Looking forward to returning summer 2024!”

“Attending my second "Santa Cruz Old Timers" luncheon held once a year since 1939. This just happened to be the 80th year it has been held, and, with a record attendance of 200. A low key meeting, luncheon and raffle without any dues, fees or other meetings the rest of the year. You need not be old to attend, just a resident of Santa Cruz County for 20 years, so a twenty year old born in the county may attend. Attendees are a mixture of regular citizens as well as Santa Cruz influentials and some politicians.”

“We did a baby shower at Corralitos Grange for people coming from the Salinas area and the Central Valley. We anticipated about 80-100 guests dropping by on a Saturday afternoon. We got a early access to the hall at 4 pm on the Friday prior to decorate and help set up tables. The tables and chairs are fold out but we were able to setup on three sections with ample space for kids to run around. There is a side room, ballroom style which can accommodate a DJ. Then there's a back kitchen with a couple stoves and ample space for a bar area. The hall has a stage and plenty of parking for guests. Although parking was not an issue there is a park across Little Corralitos Way for public parking. All in all, great experience, and not a ton of drama with the parking situation. Would recommend the hall for family get togethers and moderately sized events. One thing to keep in mind is cell service may be hit or miss and getting to the hall can be challenging for first time visitors. They can always stop at Corralitos Market and ask for directions.”

“A beautiful venue. We stayed in the Protea room, a big, roomy spot upstairs with a huge jacuzzi tub. Continental breakfast was just that, but didn't expect anything more. Towels were soft. No fridge or microwave in unit, but the gas fireplace was a great touch.”

“Like many things in life, we thought we could buy bamboo online. What a mistake that would have been. The nursery is truly fun to walk around to see all the different types of bamboo. The kids had a blast running through the bamboo forest and playing in the dock near the pond. We spoke to Trevor and told him what our yard was like and what type of bamboo we were looking for. What a treat to learn about the different shapes bamboo could take. Most importantly, the bamboo we wanted for one corner of our home receives a lot of sun, and we would have picked a bamboo that turns to yellow in bright sun, not the look we wanted. The icing on the cake, we were given a very helpful book on bamboo and learned a few tricks on how to cut our buckets in half to get more bamboo for the money. You won't be disappointed to visit here.”

“Wonderful facility with all sorts of recreational facilities. Close to the town of Felton, and the cities of Scotts Valley and Santa Cruz. And close to mountain and beach recreation as well. Not to mention the outdoor amphitheater. Definitely coming back!”

“Was shocked to see their rating on yelp so low; then again standards and expectations are different for everyone. With that said found booking cheaper through hotels own website than on booking.com. Booking was simple and quick pay on arrival and room selected was as advertised. Cost was reasonable when looking at comps in area. The hotel is extremely quaint and architecturally beautiful. Upon arrival receptionist Jessica was very friendly, professional & knowledgeable of hotel and surrounding attractions as well as accommodating. She had 2 rooms available under what I reserved, due to having young toddlers I asked if I could see both rooms and she was nice enough to show me both rooms. We decided on room 202 corner queen 2 beds ocean view, not on street level with only one neighbor/room next to us, with shared big patio. Room had modern design, huge shower with nice rain shower head. The stunning view from room is as advertised online; right across from the beach, wharf and boardwalk. & although being right across from beach & tourist attractions noise level wasn't bad at all plus quiet hours were respected by other guest during our stay. Hotel is pet friendly which is always nice. Close to local attractions and numerous restaurants. Overall great experience and hotel stay.”

Highly recommend this place if your company need a place for retreat!The room and bathroom seemed to be newly renovated. The shower head deserve some cleaning, but overall very clean ?”

“Me and my husband stayed for two nights to get away, and had a fantastic time. Demetrio helped us at the fron and was wonderful! He was helpful with the reservation and anything we needed and we are so glad to have stayed where service was so great. Definitely will be back and will hopefully be greeted again by someone as helpful and kind as Demetrio!!!!”
