We reserved a car, and I specifically asked that I was going to pay while my friend was going to be the driver. They told me it was ok. Once we got there, they changed it up and told us my friend had to pay, we had to move money around so we stepped outside, once we came back inside after figuring things out they told us all cars were gone. Definitely not returning here again

This is a well organized family business. The owner and her husband work very hard to take care of that customers. I have been using a rental car for over a year now and they have been extremely helpful and courteous. With the airport growing, they are a great community business to have.

I got into a car accident and found myself in urgent need of getting a rental car. I am so glad I went with this Avis. The process was quick, smooth, and stress free. The staff Cyndie was kind, efficient, and knowledgeable. The car itself was spotless, clean, drives smoothly. Out of everything I am having to go through right now with the accident my experience with the professionalism at Avis has been giving me a lot of peace of mind while dealing with everything else. Thank you so much!

Small neighborhood rental car office. Sometimes a one-person operation so a little of patience will be needed. I've been treated well at this location with decent upgrades for my status. Usually the cars are brought up to the parking spots right outside the terminal; if not, the fleet is a walk down to the end of the parking lot, about a 3-5 minute walk away. This is also where you return the car.

Cindy was absolutely amazing! We flew JSX and rented a car from Hertz. Little did we know Hertz does not have an actual office at the Carlsbad airport, but brings in cars from Oceanside. We landed at Carlsbad and after an hour and a half of trying to figure out where Hertz was located and where our car was, Cindy spent time on the phone with multiple contacts trying to track our car down with a different rental company. She guided us through the process of reading our cancellation policy and rebooking with Avis. We canceled with Hertz and were on the road with Avis (with an upgrade courtesy of Cindy and a ride to the car from her husband) within 10 minutes. Can’t say enough good things about this experience. She turned this disaster into a success!

I picked up my rental at San Diego Intl. My vehicle had issues, so I rolled into Carlsbad and this Avis helped me out promptly. Thank you for the great customer service!

Super long expected lines at the airport location at LAX and severely understaffed counters.
They didn't have the car id requested and I ended up getting assigned a different car. Took more deposit than recommended and I'm now waiting for a ticket to be resolved.

Picked up our rental from the San Diego airport location and it’s infested with ants that crawled all over us! Hoping to get the car exchanged expediently at one of the more convenient locations without hassle today. Will update review if the situation progresses satisfactorily:/

My fiancé and I had a rental car booked for months through Costco Travel. We show up to get our vehicle and the truck they originally have for us needs to get serviced and inspected, and is therefore unavailable. They only had 1 truck left for renting and no other sedans/SUV’s. If you go online, it says there are cars available but when Javier at the Rancho Bernardo location checked his system, they are all out of stock. This truck available however had little-to-no tread on the back tires, putting us at risk from a safety perspective. We were not comfortable driving the truck in this condition but they said there’s nothing else they can do. Their best option was us driving to Orange County as we were told this was the nearest Avis with an available car. Javier was super helpful and none of this was his fault, and instead it was due to poor management by his higher ups. Thank god for Cindy at the Avis Palomar location who saved us. We reached out to her and she had a truck being delivered as we spoke on the phone with her. By the time we drove 15 minutes to her location, our original truck’s low fuel warning and service light came on. Cindy was amazing and got us an incredible vehicle for our 6-hour drive up the California coast. Would not recommend Avis, but they’re saving grace is how amazing Cindy was. All of Avis’ management employees should take a pay cut and they should give a huge raise to Cindy and Javier.
