Staff is terrible at Carlsbad mall. Racist comments and slurs. Non helpful. Never will shop at any foot locker because of this experience.

Brought my family that are visiting from Hawaii to the Carlsbad mall. The employee with black hair styled to the front, earrings and tattoo around 1:45 pm on 6/8/25 eas super rude and condescending. I asked if military discount could apply to my purchase ? He said yes, input your military info. I don’t recall my date of separation. He said if you don’t want the discount then don’t put the information. Excuse me ? I said I don’t recall the separation and showed my military ID. I understand if you’re not allowed to bypass the system and the date is the only method of applying the discount, but to be rude about it was unnecessary. 2nd after we made our purchase of multiple shoes and clothing, he says, “ sorry we are out of bags”. My wife said “those are bags right there, can’t we have that bag” ? His reply was “ why would I give that to you”? My wife says “ because we are customers and we need a bag”. He replies with “ no, I can sell you the bag” . Again, condescending. We were not aware that the bag was a merchandise bag. He could have informed us that the bag wasn’t shopping bag but merchandise to sell! I’m pretty sure this isn’t the level of professionalism that the Carlsbad mall nor the Footlocker establishment has set. I’ve been to that mall plenty of times and have shopped in lots of foot lockers. To the employee that rang me up, this is my time with my family. Recognize you are the face of your employer and your conduct is a reflection of such. Carry yourself in a manner that shows you have some respect for yourself and others.

Terrible shoe selection and the staff is not too helpful. You will not find actual basketball shoes here and you can't try them on a hard wood surface like the footlocker store in la jolla

Very small selection with inflated prices and unhelpful staff. No sizes in the back, only what is on display. On the plus side, the store is mostly clean.

They just didn't have any regular shoes that weren't for a specific sport. We just needed a pair of running shoes and it seemed like everything was for a sport or for show.

Vine a este lugar con mi familia y el staff ni se inmutó a tratar de atendernos, como tan poco ni saludó nos ofrecieron. Habían 3 personas, uno en la caja registradora doblando unas cajas, uno en la parte de atrás y una muchacha cerca de la caja registradora. Nosotros fuimos con la intención de buscar tenis para la familia pero la muchacha evitó totalmente algún tipo de contacto visual no ofreció ayuda lo que da a entender que no quería estar ahi. He ido a muchos lugares donde las personas siempre quieren y dan lo mejor para vender pero este lugar hace exactamente lo contrario. No lo recomiendo.

Why can’t people seem to be on time. Instead of posting the store opens at 1000, put 10ish or when we feel like it. People plan their date around timelines. If I’m coming to spend money at your place of business at least open at the posted time or quit in order to allow someone else to play your position!
