Had the Wet Burrito and wife had shredded beef taco bowl ...We both Loved the freshness and favors of the meals . Very casual outside patio to enjoy ! Garcia s is a Carlsbad Classic ! Sorry no pics of food ,it looked so good I forgot to get a pic .

My Husband and I walked around Carlsbad looking for a place for lunch. We came across Garcia's and I liked their decor outside. We ate on their outside patio because it was a beautiful day. We had good service and they had a great menu, a lot to choose from.They had a nice dining area inside. Great location, close to main street.

Jose is EVERYTHING, and so is Mama Garcia. The homelike atmosphere is so inviting. The food is so soulful. Try the skinny margaritas, and the quesadillas...you will pleasantly satisfied.

The chef will hate me for telling you this, but he makes Chile Rellenos fresh to order! Holy smokes!!! They're perfection! All the food is fresh and delicious in this charming little place.

Well, I asked turkey quesadilla but the turkey meat was all dark. I don't like the dark part of the turkey. And regard the bean and chicken, I tried them also and they're average. Nothing special . Also I was suspicious if the guacamole avocado was fresh.So I would rate this place a OK place. An average food!And by the way, my sister did make a small modification in the way her meal would be served and the waitress said would charge $2.50 more for that however in the end, unbenoknownst to us, they charged extra $4.50 instead for the specific changes.

We have dined at Garcia's a few times and always very satisfied with the flavors, high quality ingredients, service, and large portions.

This my first time here and service is excellent but the food was horrible. We order chicken fajitas with carne sada , ( had no flavor chicken dry, the steak was dry as well) the adova taco was not great who puts cheese on a street taco brah.. Don't order the chicken flautas were not great chicken has no flavor. The chimas was the only thing that was excellent ??.

I ordered the cheese quesadilla and they brought me the quesadilla 'dinner' which was double the price. I told the older gentleman that I didn't order that and he said they didn't have just the quesadilla (whithout all the fixins). I asked to see the menue and showed him how they do indeed have it and told him that that is what I had ordered. He took my plate away and then brought me back just the quessadilla. You could tell he wasn't pleased because he never returned to ask us how we were doing nor to replenish our drinks. We will never return there nor recommend this restaurant. I think they do the 'bait and switch' thing where you order something and then they give you something more expensive expecting you to just accept and pay for it. By the way, the food was just ok.

Reason why I gave 2 stars. Visited Garcia's for the first time. 1. The waiter David stopped at our table three times, once to take the order, bring the drinks and bring the check. 2. The runner/waiter brought out the wrong food, sat it on the table. I told him this is not what I wanted. He replied a Chimmichanga is the same as an Enchilada. If I didn't like it he will bring me the correct item. I asked him to just bring the Enchiladas anyway, because the other item was a little torched on the ends and didn't look appealing. Instead, he brought out more salsa and went to the table next to ours for about 15 minutes, he chatted, hugged, kissed, held hands, more hugs and kisses, introduced them to other staff, walked out the door with them, took photos and never came back to the table. Instead they both kept rushing bt as if they were very busy. Meanwhile the restaurant is clearing out. Finally grabbed the first waiter, by now its been 30 minutes. Tell him about my food, he looks at me like a deer in headlights and ask me what I ordered. I replied '"you wrote it down, the Enchiladas". He told me I can have them to go. But I wouldn't be charged. He charged me for both the Enchiladas and the Chimmichanga. Refuse to take one off the bill. No manager around, now everyone is claiming to not understand what I'm saying. My daughter did like her food.

Went for a late lunch. The service was impeccable. The wet burritos are delicious, especially the shredded beef. Loaded with beef and covered with tasty red sauce. Very filling. The chips and salsa tasted homemade and were yummy. Very reasonably priced. Will definitely go back.

I’ve gotta say, I’ve been in north county for a long time but it wasn’t until I met this great guy that’s an employee there named Luciano that I decided to go. He wasn’t wrong, the food was amazing and we were welcomed with such warm and inviting service. These guys take it seriously, and they’re not just another tourist trap in the village. I’ll recommend to everyone for a fun time in the village ?

Food taste is good over there. Good quality and service is nice as well. Surprisingly, a side of small avocado cost $6 since veggie taco ($6.95) doesn't come with that. They also ran out of hot salsa, never happened in a Mexican restaurant. Please fix these two issues.Vegetarian options: Veggie tacos ($6.95) should be accompanied with Avocado. It doesn't have enough inside and adding avocado shouldn't be a big deal. We asked for side of avocado and they charge $6 for that.
