The bedrooms were lovely and spacious with very comfortable beds. The pool was a moderate size and the spa was a lovely temperature. Gym had limited appliances but was still good and cool. Lovely place to stay, staff were also very friendly.

robert was extremely kind and hospitable. location and grounds were nice. the girl that checked us out the morning of the 6th was far from friendly however. gave me the dirtiest look i’ve ever received as a customer lol crazy vibes.

I'm soo disgusted with this hotel right now. We checked in yesterday. We're pretty tired by the time we got in bed, so didn't notice that the sheets had obviously not been cleaned. I noticed on my bed that the sheets seemed like they had sweat stains, but I figured it was a faint stain. While putting my kids to sleep, I asked my older kid if he was bleeding because there was a blood stain, fresh not old. He said no that was like that last night. 🤢 its late so we put sheets over it and are going to sleep. They will hear about this tomorrow. Breakfast this morning was gross with rude kitchen staff. Don't stay here.

I told the front desk woman about the gross room and asked if a manager was there. She told me no, the manager didn't come in til 10am but she would call when she arrived. We left by 9am this morning. I am now home, and its almost 6pm. Still no call from a manager.

Manager called back. Her name was Danaria( spelled wrong on sure) she gave zero shits about the situation. All she kept on saying is that the sheets were changed before we checked in. Clearly they were not. Did say anything about the other gross things when mentioned. She knows her hotel is gross but doesn't care. There are plenty of other hotels around. Choose another. This one is gross. I already called the corporate office and the health department. Hope they get that mold taken care of quick.

I just have to say Jennifer at the front desk has been super helpful through my whole stay here, a long three weeks but very comfortable thanks to all the staff at the holiday in, and needless to say that the very kind women Jennifer deserves a raise

I have no complaints for my stay here. My family and I were treated correctly, and the breakfast and overall room service was exceptional. They brought towels and wash clothes within about a minute, each time I asked for some. I would recommend staying here, and I would love to come here again for a stay. Thank you Holiday Inn for making my stay one to remember

Items missing from my room. Staff was as passive as it can be. For the record, I never leave bad reviews and this is the first time I encounter such situation. I was sent to CA for work for a few days and I stayed at this location. I went straight from the airport and set my stuff in my room. I had gone out and bought a few items for my hair which never left the room for the few days I was there. I don’t have any friends there and I didn’t relocate post staying here. The hair oil was on the night stand and my expensive neck pillow was in my luggage. I called the hotel staff and informed them that the items are missing straight from my bag and they were very passive about it, yet I see that they try to do damage control with the robo replies they give on these reviews and it simply isn’t going to work. I will notify my agency of what happened so my team doesn’t stay there. This is mind boggling as how and who would do such thing?? Lastly, they also looked inside a bag for sandwich making items and trashed it along with a donut box. I don’t understand how the staff looks inside of bags and determines on behalf of the guest what’s trash and what isn’t especially when it’s located on top of a desk. I was willing to let that go as mistakes happen and it could be interpreted as trash to someone. I was willing to let go of the dirty towels they left in my room because hey no one is perfect but when I return to finding dirty towels, food trash and MISSING HAIR OIL AND AN EXPENSIVE NECK PILLOW, it really stands out more. After this experience, I will be taking precautions with any hotel. This damaged my peace of mind.

If I could give this hotel a -10 review I would. I have never been at such a bad hotel. The bathroom smelled like a sewer. The ac smelled like old dirt/dust. It was horrible. Everything looked old and worn down. I've stayed at quite a few hotels in Carlsbad this was worse by far. After speaking with the front desk they advised me that I would speak with a manager to get compensated for a night (we stayed two nights), and they would not charge for anything until I spoke with a manager. I did not receive a call or an email but they went and processed the room anyways! Disappointed and upset is an understatement.

I cannot say enough nice things about the staff here. I ended up staying here last minute after a family emergency, and the staff was incredibly hospitable. It was such a relief to experience kindness. Would stay here again in a heartbeat.
