Terrible company !! From the start they lied to me about price and contracts .. said I could get a discount and no contracts !!! Never signed anything on paper or online or with the technician who came out to install . I keep getting calls from their salespeople who don’t speak proper English and they don’t help with anything .. I still have not gotten an email even though I’ve asked multiple times . The day they installed I called and told them to come get the equipment I didn’t want it because they wouldn’t honor the discount I was told I could have . Then they said I had a 24 month contract !! ? yea ok how when I NEVER signed any contract . Service was installed on 02/16/2024 and I still have the modem and used up whatever amount of GB they signed me up for .. still have no idea what that is or how much they think they are charging .. but I will not pay for anything because I told them to cancel and pick up equipment and they still have not done it or reached out to me .. insane !!! This Viasat account is under my boyfriend’s name but I am writing the review since I signed him up for this awful company ..

HORRIBLE ! Slow internet even in top tier package. Service down frequently, routers burn out frequently. Takes 3-6 days to get their tech out to repair. Their own techs even warned me about Viasat. Multiple techs have advised me to switch to STARLINK, which I had already decided to do. STARLINK HAS TOTALLY TRANSFORMED MY INTERNET EXPERIENCE ! Their own techs have stated to me that STARLINK WILL be putting Viasat out of business and I "wholeheartedly" agree ! Don't walk but RUN from Viasat. Sign up with STARLINK. Please! Thank you....Carl in NC

DONT USE THIS COMPANY!!! Canceled my service but charged 3 more times then was told 25 dollars to have a tech come out and get equipment off the roof but the realprice was 95 dollars. You have to change your card number afterwards or they just keep charging you. Please NEVER use viasat.

Very poor customer service! I called a few days ago to check on prices for service in Georgia and after being given very specific per month prices I set up an instalation time. When I received an invoice on what I would be paying, it was way more expensive. I've made several calls and asked to have the original call listened too, expecting the company to honor what their "Trained Sales Representative " sold me on. Since then, they have not returned calls when they said they would. When asked why they claim the previous Supervisor I spoke with was wrong and THE CUSTOMER is required to follow up and check back 3-5 days to see if they are going to do anything. I'm not even a customer at this point and have had to make 6 calls just to find out that no one seems to know what the procedure is from call to call. They claim the sales guy was wrong. They claim the first Supervisor was wrong and that the customer is the one who has to keep them on point because they don't seem to have a system in place to keep things consistent. I wonder how bad it must be for customers who have issues after being locked into a contract should they have service issues...MY LORD! Is this what customer service has devolved into these days? No accountability unless it becomes a media story or an "Influencer" starts a conversation as I will be. They just treat us as numbers on a spreadsheet. How much of a stink is required before someone in the company figures out that proper training and consistency is a good business model? I'm always looking for the best deal but I think a company that delivers on what they sell and stands behind their products by taking care of those who keep them in business is worth the extra money. So if their final solution is commensurate with what I've seen so far, I'll go with one of their competitors like Starlink and post to my followers how this all shakes out. Company's arnt to big to fail. And when enough of their customers have had enough, they will understand. It's unfortunate that it takes influencers or big media stories to wake them up. Here's hoping...

This is a horrible service. This company is clearly fraudulent in the claims they make. They promise 35 MBS download speed and then deliver 5 MBS at best with speeds so slow web pages won’t load. Then if you want to cancel because they cannot deliver what they promise they charge you cancellation fees. So you are stuck paying for internet service that does not work. Or paying to not have their horrible service. Definitely stay away from this company

We have been trying to get our service back up for 3 weeks now. The last three months we've been lucky to get 2 weeks (if not less than 2 weeks) of service, yet we are still billed for 4 weeks, $397.00 showing no usage of internet. We have been billed for a landline for about a year. And it has never worked. We tell the "customer service" reps, (from what ever country theyre located who have no clue about the issues we have trouble with) that the phone has never worked, and they just ignore us. It's neither fixed, removed from billing or God forbid, we get credit for a service that's never been rendered. This month we've been trying to get someone here all month. We told them someone is ALWAYS HOME. They said they couldn't give us definite time or day being a call having been expedited. We waited close yo door for 4 days and nobody csme.. on Sunday we assumed nobody would come so we we n t about our daily lives without manning the door. Apparently someone came and left within seconds. We called to plead with him to come back, not 10 minutes after he left the note. And he refused. We pleaded because we have a family member on dialysis, in critical condition. Where we live, We get NO CELL PHONE SIGNALS. AGAIN we have no landline because our service has never worked. We have to walk a couple of blocks down the highway to get cell signal. Which I, a 65 year old with severe breathing problems, had to do the other night, to call 911 due to a kidney failure crisis. Nobody understands we CANT MAKE OR RECIEVE PHONE CALLS FROM HOME BECAUSE WE HAVE NO INTERNET SERVICE. I have vocal cord paralysis also and can only whisper. So I have to push my wheel chair bound husband, down the highway to call viasat AGAIN.We are again being billed for whole months service, when we have not had access to the internet for 1 day this month. They ignore all our pleas to get someone he re to fix internet. Or, when someone did finally come. He just left before we even knew someone had come. He couldn't of tried too hard. We sure weren't expecting a Sunday service call for one thing, but 0 out of 4 people heard a knock or anything. T hen he refused to come back even though only a few minutes awayThat's the kind of service Viasat has given us. Good luck if looking for otherwise

Unlimited Platinum Plan is not unlimited. I live in Florida and lost signal when it rains, and it rains a lot. No refund or extension of service for the time you don't use or the lost of service time. Again, The lost or unused time is not carried over to the next month or put into a bank for you. When my year was done (per contract), I was able to receive fiber internet service. I called on the 13th of June to cancel. Which was one year of having ViaSat. I was supposedly able to cancel without paying a penalty. Guess what, I was still charged over $240.00 for service even though I canceled. They told me the billing cycle started the day before (too bad). I never used a single bit of internet service, and they still took over $240.00. I had an automatic payment set up, and they had no problem taking funds from a service i canceled. When i canceled, i was advised that I would not be charged.Later, I received a box to return the ViaSat modem and signal head, and they wanted to charge me for returning the items.Customer Service doesn't care about the customers and could careless.I have been given the impression that dollar signs mean the most, customer service or helping a long-time customer means nothing.I lost a signal a lot, my movies buffered all the time, and if you are streaming, forget about working on a computer. In my opinion- stay away from ViaSat, unless you are like me in the past, living in a rural area and had no other choice until something better comes along. Then you need to fulfill the year contract, and even doing that, you can get billed because the billing cycle started. ?

No internet for a month. They scheduled 5 service calls and cancelled every one of them on their end. The 5th was the final. I asked for the service to be disconnected. I'm told I have to pay $255 to "early disconnect" a service THEY are not providing. Thus a breach of contract on their end. See you in court.Warning: this company is not in the business of providing Internet. They make their money off of service calls and early termination fees.

Buyer beware, the latency is tough to deal with. Additionally, the customer service is not good. I tried to cancel my service (I've been a customer for several years) and with 20 days left of my contract, Viasat would NOT pro-rate my month of service. Save yourself the disappointment and go with Starlink.

I have NEVER been involved with such a criminal enterprise as Viasat. They're rude, unprofessional, thieving corporate snakes who will nickel and dime you for every last hard-earned penny you have. Please, please, PLEASE consider legitimately ALL OTHER OPTIONS before succumbing to this evil force of a company. They will overcharge you and then not compensate you whatsoever for their own clerical errors; they will stick you with a bill for services you haven't even used and then tell you "it's the computer! once the computer generates a bill we cannot alter it! sorry it's not our fault it's the CPU overlord that we have no control over!"; and when you call in to resolve matters, they will leave you on hold for hours until wearing you down to the point where you've wasted an entire day and eventually give in to their demands. By the way, I'm signing up for Yelp JUST TO WRITE THIS REVIEW SO THAT YOU DON'T MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE I DID. I BEG YOU TO HEED THIS WARNING AND NEVER, EVER DO BUSINESS WITH THESE CROOKS. I cannot believe they are still in business, and to be completely honest, I hope that one day a complaint is filed is a real way and they're taken to court for all they're worth.

If I could give this joke of a company negative stars, I would. My 89 year old father contracted with these people for his home internet a year ago. He was placed on hospice in December. Called their "customer service" to cancel his account... was told we can't cancel his account because he still had 15 months left on his 2 year contract and we'd need to provide them with a death certificate. Instead, they would "hibernate" his account and continue to charge him $20 per month plus equipment rental fees. He was charged $120 for December and $120 for January. He passed at the end of January. Called their "customer service" again; was told they'd refund him for his January bill and there'd be no early termination fees or additional charges. In speaking to my fathers bank today, found out this company CHARGED him another $81!! Called "customer service" again. Asked to speak to a supervisor and was told they were all gone for the day, even though "Nick" had placed me on hold several times to speak to his supervisor. End result is I will have to contest the charges with my deceased father's credit card company since these people, none of whom are native English speaking individuals, don't seem to know what they're doing or how to help a deceased customer's family on a difficult time. Avoid this place for your home internet at all costs.

If I could give 0 stars, I would do so. Worst Internet service EVER with limited connectivity, horrible customer service, and purposeful slowing of Internet in order to make customer buy more data. With the highest plan, data still runs out after just a couple of days of regular Internet use and even when you have "data," the Internet is spotty and unreliable, leaving you unable to stream a basic Netflix movie. Paid over $300 for years for this awful service and am so happy to have Starlink now, which is only $110 a month for Internet that actually WORKS. ViaSat had me thinking all satellite Internet systems were the same, but Starlink has shown me I can stream movies and have reliable Internet with no purposeful slowing down of the Internet after data is used up or during "congested" times.

Viasat is the worst company they are the highest price and do not care about their customers. I had several drops in service connection and the company worked on it but didn't compensate the customer for the Loss of service. My equipment failed and in order to get the new equipment I had to add a maintenance plan and wait for a service tech to come out and replace the modem and earliest appointment available was a week or longer with no internet till the appointment. I felt when I chose to cancel my service viasat was punishing me. You can not cancel the day you call no matter the reason because you have already made your monthly payment and they do not do refunds so your discount date is the end of you billing cycle even if it just passed one day before you called. Also when you have to return the equipment they send you the return box a month later and when the equipment gets back to them they don't scan it in properly and charge your card for not returning the equipment even though they have you file noted that you equipment was returned and then they have to investigate their mistakes and it will take 5 to 10 business days before you get an answer. If you choose to sign up with viasat be prepared to wait and take pictures of everything for proof. This is a fair warning to help you cope with the frustrations you will face with viasat. I hope this review helps you make your decision and gives you the full scope of their process.
