Carmel Valley Lodge is a beautiful, family-run hotel set on a lovely, very big, secret gardenesque property. The spacious rooms are clean, comfortable, and cozy, some featuring fireplaces and balconies with views of the hills. The grounds and gardens are spectacular, featuring a lit heated salt pool, hot tub, and fire pits. The staff is friendly, cheerful, and provides great service. A wonderful continental breakfast is included, described as plentiful and the best ever, though it is served on disposable dishes. The location is excellent and great for exploring, including Highway 1 and the 17 Mile Drive. It is within a short, beautiful walk into town through a park, near tasting rooms, art galleries, hiking, beaches, and small independent restaurants. The hotel offers a comfortable, magical getaway with a quaint atmosphere. Some minor inconveniences were noted, such as a narrow shower stream and outdated elements, but guests highly recommend it and look forward to returning.
A pretty good stay—there’s a pool and breakfast. I liked it.

This is a cute and quaint little hotel in Carmel Valley. We stayed in the three bedroom cottage, which was lovely. The rooms are dated, but well taken care of and the staff is great. The breakfast was a highlight for everyone staying at the hotel.
