Grocery Outlet (Carmichael) – unacceptable experience today.
This morning I went in with my service dog to quickly buy water. Before I could even explain anything, an employee told me to leave and refused to listen. My dog was calm, trained, and not causing any problems.
What makes this worse: there was no clear sign at the entrance saying animals aren’t allowed (or any guidance about service animals). If the store has a policy, it should be posted and staff should handle it professionally—especially when it involves a service dog.
I’m asking the store manager/corporate to address this. Until this is corrected, I won’t be shopping here, and I encourage others to spend their money at businesses that treat customers with basic respect.

Today is 12-27-25, and just shopped at this store, the time was 11:10am, while I was near the produce and meat section, an employee young lady was trying to catch a very frightened, white tiny little dog, almost looked like a chiweenie, no more than 4 lbs with a beautiful pink marking on it, and I bent over to also assist her in gently getting the frightened little dog who had wandered into the store, she said something to a man working there in the meat section wearing a brown apron, he had a long gray beard and was very thin, he suddenly came over and I thought he would assist her, Nope, instead he viciously screamed and stammered his feet very hard in scaring the little dog out of the store, the employee lady was startled and I screamed, as in disbelief in what just happened. Just in shock that this really was happening. I felt helpless, they both left the area, and maybe continued to force the little dog out of the store. There was no compassion, and he should of allowed the lady employee to continue on what she was doing in trying to get the little dog, versus instead of terrifying the little dog by being vicious, in treating the little dog like he was rodent rat who had wandered into the store. It was so awful, that I collected myself, and halted in further going down the last four aisles and instead I just checked out my groceries and left. I will never go back into this store again, because if this is how this man acts in front of customers and treats vulnerable pets, one can only imagine what else goes on there.

Convenient location, nice manager and used to be my favorite store but they have recently hired new staff. No more smiles or friendly greetings. The new staff are rude and unfriendly which changes the whole shopping experience. The cashier fondled and I DO mean fondled all of my fruit and veg, which was disgusting. I’ve never seen anyone put their hands all over my food like that before Took each item out of its bag apples, cilantro etc. No longer wanted any of it after that. I think it’s time to try another location. This location feels a little creepy and unprofessional now.

Don't believe their fake advertisements, such as If you spend 35 dollars, you will get a Frozen turkey for $3.99, because they will say " we are out of it!!"
Their unjustified ads are for attraction of customers!!!

Not a bad store or staff. Some undesirables hanging out harassing folks coming in is the only real issue.

I really like this Grocery outlet, despite my rating. It's clean, most of the employees are friendly and of course, the prices are good. You also have to factor in, that bottle of wine that's $6, priced much higher somewhere else has most likely been exposed to extreme heat or extreme cold. That tasty box of triscuits, normally priced $5 in a regular grocery store, is a $1.99 at GO. Who cares if the expiration date is 2 days from now. We are all expecting that.
So what's the reason for my three-star rating? I'm a huge believer of bringing in my own bags. Grocery outlet bags are fine, they're just not useful for me. Plus, I'm trying to cut back on waste. How do I get rewarded for cutting back on waste? I have to bag my own damn groceries! Great! Thanks! Btw, there's a reason I did not choose a career in the grocery business. I suck at bagging groceries! I'm the first to admit it. So I vow from here on, I am never bringing another reusable bag into grocery outlet, and choosing to pay the $0.10 extra per bag, because the lady with the long gray hair told me that their boss, assuming the owner, told them they are not supposed to bag groceries when customers bring in reusable bags. If you're going to get covid, you're going to get covid. You're not going to get it from handling my freaking bag! End rant...

Haha I love grocery outlet and moving from the Bay area it has been a lottle challenging for me to find one that meets my expectations BUT to every location that I have been to, the staff have been very nice and supportive. For the most parta I usually find what I am looking for ( which is still a win).
