Horrible for families! Jennifer the property manager and a heavy-set, older blond woman, who is a resident, are often found drinking alcohol during the day by the pool and being horribly rude - mostly to women and children. They tend to be a little nicer to men, perhaps for obvious reasons. My family and I had been going here for years but stopped after we witnessed Jennifer and the blond woman yell and and FILM a mom and her children for putting their feet in the jacuzzi. You could see how shaken the mom and kids were and they were not fighting back at all. They just got up and left because they were truly being bullied. It was horrible to witness, but on par with what we had experienced. There are so many other beautiful spots in this area, so please don't make the same mistakes we did and have your vacations ruined by these women. They truly do not want anyone there and will do what it takes to make sure you don't come back.

Not family-friendly – would not recommend for anyone with kids or planning to use the pool
Unfortunately, this property is extremely unfriendly toward families. We were not informed of strict pool rules or the no-guests policy until we were already confronted. The complex manager, Jennifer, was aggressive and hostile—yelling at us multiple times and even threatening to physically remove our child from the hot tub, which was barely warm. She returned minutes later to yell again because we weren’t leaving “fast enough,” even while our children were visibly upset. At one point, she plugged her ears as they cried while we were trying to speak with her. She was waiting and watching from her unit to catch people breaking rules. The host offered no apology—only reinforced the same behavior. If you’re coming for peace and quiet without children, this may suit you. But for families, this was an uncomfortable and upsetting experience—we’ve never been treated so poorly while traveling with children.

#58 at Solimar Sands, managed by Casago.com is the best condo to rent for a short vacation in Carpinteria.

This is a lovely location for locals and tourists alike. The beach is really close and a quick walk to town. We usually stay in unit 24 which has a fantastic view of the sunset and you can see the ocean from the balcony. We'll definitely be back!

My wife I stayed at Solimar Sands last summer with our daughter and grandson Benjamin, 6, and Reagan,3. It was perfect, one of the best vacations we ever had. Steps away from the "world's safest beach," 2 pools, and a Jacuzzi. With the kitchen and bar-b-que, we were able to cook all of our meals, didn't have to go out to eat once. We're coming back again for the July 4th week. And Jennifer Miller, Guest Relations, is super.

Jennifer at the management was very attentive and allowed us to get packages dropped off. This is the best place in Carpenteria. We stayed in unit 10 and loved it.

Great place. Great onsite managers! I rented Sept-Dec 2016 as part of a corporate assignment in the area. Each unit is an individually owned Condo with a single management company overseeing things.*** Yes *** I would stay again. Absolutely, no reservations what so ever! The location is ideal, a few steps from the water (just across the street). My apartment was well stocked with kitchen ware, linens... move in ready. All the appliances worked flawlessly and were clean and in great working order. It was clean. Don't confuse "clean" with "Marriott Quality" ... the place was built in 1970 and is "beach housing." My specific unit was more like "Painted Plywood and Varnish" for the kitchen cabinets. Again, not bad quality, just "beach grade." There is a management company who pays to clean the place before/after your stay and they do a fantastic job. If you need a cleaning during your stay, just ask and you can pay for it out of pocket. I did that once, and it really helped me feel more at home.My unit had plenty of beach chairs, kids beach toys. I never used them, but they were there for families. Only complaint - my specific owner did not provide much for Cable TV....it was there, only a few channels.Bring a window fan for the warmer nights.Parking is a bit tight - there is enough, but the navigation is snug.Great places to shop and grab a bite, all within walking distance. Give this place some business, I hope to return!

Really close to the beach and with 2 pools and a jacuzzi it's great for those not so sunny days. Quiet atmosphere and gated parking are nice on the busier beach days. Some parts are a bit outdated but fit nicely with the quaint surf town feeling.
