Actually a pleasant relaxing place, seems peaceful and secluded but I was there working on a show.

Yikes. I wanted to love this park but there was trash all over the playgrounds which made it very hard for me to let my toddler explore and be safe. There aren’t really any “trails”, just paved walkways that go through the campsites. Also it’s located in a very industrial area so not a great backdrop on the other side. There is work equipment and run down buildings nearby which doesn’t make it feel like you’re getting “away” to a beautiful place. On top of it all, you have to pay to enter. If this was a beautiful location and well maintained, then I’d consider going back but it was a massive letdown. Pretty surprised it has the reviews it has. It was a waste of gas and time for us. Want to go to a beautiful park in LA county? Check out Franklin Canyon in Beverly Hills and it’s free! There a ton of other nicer parks to explore that are better maintained in SCV. Pico canyon, Vasquez rocks to name a view.

Nothing beats having your morning coffee at the lower lagoon pier all by yourself. Watching the sun rising ? and watching the wildlife wake up. One of the best overall lakes in Southern California. You can catch bass, catfish, stripper bass and bluegill fish. And if you don't happen to catch any fish. You still had one of your best cup of coffee ever with the best view

Just a quick getaway from the city, and this is just the perfect spot. Clean campground. The bathroom is semi clean, which is alright (not too bad) flush toilets. I would definitely camp there again.

My son and I randomly found this camping space adventuring up the freeway. We were hopeful they had a spot as we just showed up the day of. The team in the main office was able to find us a spot, and we had the best two days at the lake.We were able to do a little fishing down Lakeside, and also got in a little swimming too. To our luck. It was also about cinema happening across the water that we saw from our campsite. We ended up looking it up online getting tickets and having a great night watching Jaws next to the water in our camping chairs . The team there put on a great experience and my son and I had the best night. We were a little bummed the showers weren't working that weekend, but it didn't deter us for wanting to come back. If anybody is looking online, I suggest lot A as it has the most shade with the trees. We can't wait to come back. Hopefully this helps you with your booking choices. Heath

Stopped in for some paddle boarding on a Sunday morning! Recreational area has a beach area, non motorized area and an upper lake area for motorized boats! On a Sunday afternoon the non motorized boat area was not overly populated. Nice lake to kick back and relax and enjoy the warm summer water. If you feel like relaxing more, paddle over to the beach and take a dip!The park is unfortunately not free! For day paddlers, parking is 12 dollars and non motorized boats are 9 dollars each. For a single person to boat that is 21 dollars. Price adds up! Note the ocean is free! No boat inspections. And to take your boat out, you must go on boat side, not the beach side unfortunately. Also, there are a lot of rules, where you can swim, take your boat out and drink. No alcohol allowed at the park! They roam the area well looking for rule breakers! Location was a good change from the ocean, but due to the price, I'm probably more likely to adventure out tot the ocean! The ocean is also much cooler too!

This is a clean beach with picnic tables and lifeguards. It's $12 to park but it's worth the cost. Mid-week was a good time to go. The temp was 94, perfect, not too hot.

Seems like cool place to be. But when you want to have your 3 year old baby to swim with arm floats they say it s liability she cant be in the water , floats might swim out of the arms so she can be in the water without them::) or we have to put life jacket. They allow to be in the water with no floats .. please explain to me how come being in the water with No floats safer than with arm floating

An enormous and peaceful lake if you wanna get away from the city and want space and clear up your mind. The drive is only an hour away from the valley. You can chill here and be really relaxing and enjoying the views and nature.
