Title: "Hardworking Staff, Management Concerns at Dollar Tree Castaic"Review:I recently visited the Dollar Tree in Castaic and had a mixed experience. The store was bustling with activity, and amidst this, one young lady at the cash register was doing a phenomenal job handling the crowd. Her efforts to maintain efficiency and customer service were admirable, especially considering the circumstances.Unfortunately, the experience was marred by an interaction with the store's management. When she called for assistance due to the growing line, the manager's response was less than professional, snapping at her in front of customers. This incident was unsettling and did not reflect well on the store's overall management.The situation escalated when an older lady, apologetically, asked for balloons, highlighting the strained resources and the long wait times customers were facing. It was disheartening to see customers feeling the need to apologize for such a simple request.What was most concerning was the manager's response when approached for the district manager's contact information. His remarks about being on a lunch break, coupled with an apparent inability to hire more staff, indicated a lack of adequate support for the store's operations.In summary, while the staff, particularly the cashier, showed commendable dedication and customer service skills, the management's approach and the staffing issues significantly impacted the overall shopping experience. It's crucial for higher management to address these concerns to ensure both employee welfare and customer satisfaction.

To the owner or corporate office.We just got back from your store.There were three employees two of them hide out and would not help the one cashier Ray. There were about seven of us. The other two saw all of us and went back to the stock room.Thank goodness for Ray. You should make him the manager and give him a raise.The other two are there for a free ride.

Love this place!! Store personnel are so friendly and helpful!! Always greeting their customers upon entrance to the store!!! The young lady who worked tonight, I'm so sorry I don't remember her name ? ? but she is always so pleasant & friendly!!! Keep up the great team work!!! It's rare nowadays!

The customer service in this place! I go there sometimes because it is local but no more! Most of the time there is only one cashier and when there is a cashier waiting in line is like watching water boil. Went to purchase two things. I waited in line patiently (as i usually do). I was up next in line. Then the cashier looks at me says that i had to go to another line because he was closing. At this point the long line behind me had all gone to the new line so i ended up at the end of the line (thus having to wait again!). I'm no expert, but i strongly believe that the staff should be better trained on transitioning customers to a new line. The whole thing is unfair and frustrating. So, at this point i'm standing in the back of the line watching all the other people behind me get ringed up and i realized that the cashier that "closed" his line was still ringing people up!!!! Like how do you do that to people. At this time i was just upset. I set the things i wanted to purchase down and left. Won't be returning. I get that this is the Dollar Tree but this place could be so much better with additional training to staff. Or maybe they just don't care.. Either way. Don't recommend.

The customer service at this location is absolute trash. They never have more than one manager and one additonal employee at a time, so basically you can't find a soul and you stand at the register forever. I placed , and paid for, an online order to be shipped to the store. I received the email saying it was ready for pickup, so I headed into the store. The person at the cashier was unable to help me at all (apparently ONLY managers are trained to fulfill online orders), so they got the manager for me. The manager kept me waiting about 25 minutes while they meandered around to the back, called THEIR manager, and finally just told me it wasn't there, and to come back the next day. Zero help, and zero interest in moving faster than a snail's pace.Fast forward to today, the next day. I call ahead to be sure it is there. The manager is very abrupt with me on the phone, but lets me know that my order is there. I tell them that I'll be coming in later in the day to pick it up. They don't mention that I need to come at a certain time, or avoid a certain time. When I arrive, I speak to an associate, who tells me that they can't help me, only a manager can, and that they're on a conference call. At this point, the lack of customer service has become ridiculous - I ask the associate to go tell the manager that I am here, and need to pick up my order. When the associate knocks on the office door, the manager opens it a tiny crack, and I hear them tell the associate that I'll need to wait for 20 minutes until they're off their call. What?! I already wasted 25 minutes the previous day, I am sure as hell not going to stand in the dollar tree for another 20 minutes today. Associate was rude, and just said oh well, I can't help you, you'll have to wait.Seriously? Making a PAID customer wait 20 minutes for the manager to get off a conference call, presumably with other managers, and presumably where they will discuss sales and CUSTOMER SERVICE?I was finally able to pick up my item on my 3rd try, the following day. It was remarkably easy, although the manager was less than friendly.

I will Never go to the dollar tree again! The employees and manager are so ignorant and there is always new employees working when I go in. The last visit I purchased 20$ worth of crap(because that's what it on it is) and went to pay with a credit card that had a credit on it and was declined ok weird so let's try Apple Pay with 500 and change on it, declined ok let's try my Venmo card with 300 and change on it, again declined. So now that I'm totally embarrassed with everybody in line thinking I have no money I asked to see the manager. So he tells me to call my bank. What...it was three different institutions with plenty of money in each of them. Maybe it's your employees that don't know what they're doing! So either pay your people more so you hire better people or train them on how the register works

I went to the ONLY open line. There were two people in front of me when another line opened. I stayed were I was and people behind me went to the newly opened register. When I was next, the cashier then points to her light that is now off and says " I'm closed ". Didn't care that I was in line while she was open.

Love their selection of greeting cards and gift wrap. Also great craft items too. Can take a bunch of 1.25 items and make beautiful front door decor for a fraction of the cost of a store bought item. Used to be well stocked and clean. Now not so much. They understaff the store. Management changes at the drop of a hat and far too often. Never a response from corporate to any inquiries. They are doing inventory today. After they have completed their task, the store will be in order, but for how long? Love the convenient location, just wish it was managed better. I feel bad for those that work there.
