Purchased a Groupon for a wellness exam and some labs. The staff wanted to charge me for things included in the groupon even though I warned them that I purchased it. I constantly had to tell them, "here, this is supposed to be included", they would then very unwillingly go and remove items from the bill. It felt like they were trying to include it and see if I would notice. If they do not wish their customers to use groupons, then they should not advertise themselves on the website. The wait was extremely long, the staff did not want to work with my anxious dog and I suspect that most likely it was because I had a groupon. They refused to work with the dog and prescribed anxiety meds for us to come in on a different date. Apparently, they messed up the dosage and when we came in the second time, the pills did not work at all (thank goodness it was not the other way around). The staff said that we should increase the dosage and refused to work with my dog once again. I never came back and went to a different vet that was able to work with my dog with no medication, just some patience. The staff at this facility needs patience, my experience made me feel as they were just trying to overcharge you and get you off their hands.

We started coming to this office when Dr. Hill was the vet. He was the kindest and most animal loving Vet you can imagine. We loved bringing our dogs here, never felt pressure to do extra things and were very happy with our experiences there. When he retired and sold the business, we started to notice a huge change in the service. Suddenly my dogs needed extra things. One time, when my little dog had bad allergies, they prescribed their dog shampoo. It was roughly $28ish dollars. Come to find out, you can buy the exact same shampoo at the pet store for under $10. Little things like that stick with you. Fast forward to last week. Our little pup, who was over 18 had a seizure at home. We knew she was not going to be with us for much longer just based on her age and how much she was slowing down. Still....we were not prepared for the seizure. It was horrible and we knew she would need to be put down. I called Hills and got a message. The message says someone will call me back within 24 hours. What?? This must be a mistake. There was no number to call for an emergency. I called back, certain that someone would answer...nope! No answer and there was no way I was going to wait for a call back. We adopted another dog last year and had made the move to another vet for him, since he was a puppy and we knew we didn't want to stay with Hill's. I called that office and even though she wasn't a patient of theirs, they agreed to see her and help us. Within an hour or so, we were able to take her to the new vet, allowed to go in with her (fully masked) and be with her as they helped her cross the rainbow bridge. We will be moving our other dog's care to this other vet. Yes, running a Veterinary clinic is a business. I get that. But when dollars come before compassion, kindness and good customer service, then I think you've lost your way.

Everyone knows, our furry, feathered, scaly friends are family to us, hence, the importance of selecting a Veterinarian that demonstrates kindness, competence and compassion in their practice. I'm happy to say I found Groveway Veterinary Hospital (part of Hill's Veterinary, I will be placing this same review on both Yelp pages to ensure everyone gets the kudos they deserve). Let me share a quick backstory on why I needed an amazing, trustworthy & established vet who was known to have aviary veterinarian experience. As many of you here know me, I have an amazing Mama, she's been dealt a bad hand and has been bravely battling Alzheimer's disease the past few years, so, as a fellow animal lover, I have had the honor and privilege of taking on the care of her 2 beloved birds - one of which we've had since I was just a little girl! Boo-Boo is a lovely and lively cockatiel who has blessed us with his presence for many years, but in the recent years as Mom's illness progressed, it became a challenge for her to handle some of the things she used to, in particular, the birdies' nail trimmings. It's definitely not something I had any experience with, and since Boo-Boo is our senior handsome gent, I didn't want to chance anything with him. I called this location and was able to speak with Britney who was very warm, friendly and thorough and answered all my many questions and concerns and was sincere in expressing my worries over someone handling Boo-Boo due to his age, etc. Fast forward to the day of his exam on 1/29/21. [COVID TIMES] I opted for a basic exam since he was a new patient to them and he is in overall excellent health, especially for an OG like him. Upon arrival, I noted there were many cars here! Several in the few parking spots (it's a tiny parking area in front) as well as many cars that were pulled in a line towards the side of the main entrance - many of which who's fur-families consisted of dogs, I noticed a couple cats as well. I pulled up and followed the instructions Britney had previously advised me on, I checked in via a text number that is posted right outside the entry and answered a series of a few short questions regarding my name, pet's name, appointment time and patiently waited with little Boo-Boo for his turn. I received a telephone call not more than 5 minutes following my text questions from Rebecca just to reconfirm the appointment details, etc. and she informed me she would be out momentarily to intercept Boo-Boo from me. She was masked, courteous and very careful when receiving my bird bro (that's what I've always called him) and thoughtfully listened when I explained how old and how he came into my care and shared a few kind words with me regarding our circumstance, which was very appreciated and demonstrated the humanity in what they stand for at Hills / Groveway Veterinary Hospital. Very much appreciated. After a couple minutes since Rebecca brought Mr. Boo-Boo in, the bubbly and sweet Britney came out to check in and make a formal introduction and welcome to me. Talk about making a connection and going the extra mile! She even asked how Boo-Boo did when Rebecca brought him in as she knew how worried I was since I couldn't go in to hold him. I stayed in the car as no one is able during pandemic to enter the building and a few moments later, I received another phone call on my cell. This time, it was from the Dr. herself! Dr. Sarah Andre was so sweet and so thorough (you know, one of those people whose level of compassion and care comes across the phone in their tone) - she was able to give me an update on Boo-Boo's exam, she was so kind to even mention that despite his age, she could see the love in his care all these years was evident as he is such a "sweet boy", which - yes, he sure is. I beamed with pride over my Mom's baby - she furthered in explaining he's beginning to develop a very slight case of cataracts in both eyes, and that he's slightly overweight, which I actually had a b

I recently had an annual examination for my puppy. I was very thankful and pleased with the exceptional friendly and conscientous services of the assistant Cynthia. Due to COVID we are confined to our cars as we pass on our dog to the assistant to then go into the office for care. I was so grateful for Cynthia's careful attention to my questions, her followup and her friendly helpful manner. I felt confident my pet was in good hands as I passed her off for her examination.

I have been going to Hill's Veterinary Hospital since 1997. With the pandemic, they are working out of their sister hospital Groveway, which is just up the street. Dr. Andre and the staff at both Hill's and Groveway are amazing. They are all very responsive, professional, helpful, and empathetic. They go out of their way to help and work long hours when necessary. It's nice to have an energetic cheerful person answering the phones and ensuring that my questions and issues are addressed in a timely manner. We are providing end of life care for my 14 1/2 year old cat, Chisai. Dr. Andre and the hospital staff have been very supportive through this journey. I would like to express my sincere appreciation to everyone at Hill's/Groveway, in particular, Dr. Andre, Tara, Janelle, Alisa, Brittany, Cynthia, Kayla, Ronalyn, Celina, and Rebecca, who have all helped me more often and more recently.

Took my golden retriever puppy Cooper in for his first exam to the groveway/hills hospitals and the staff did an amazing job. Kayla and Brittany were super helpful and nice! I will definitely be coming back to this location to get Cooper neutered!

Our animals have been patients of Hills forever and we always get the best care. During covid they have been very cautious, can't want til they are back in their regular office. Tara has especially given us excellent service, always greets us and happy to see our fur babies. Can't imagine going anywhere else

Hills's Vet Hospital saved my move! I don't usually write reviews but if your pet is family, you can trust Hill's Vet Hospital. Everyone I interacted with was super friendly and more importantly, you could tell everyone there genuinely loves animals. My vet in Hayward closed down due to a Covid issue and canceled an appointment I had scheduled months prior - the morning of! The appointment was to get my cat Matsu a bill of health for our cross country move... I was devastated. The original appointment was supposed to be Friday morning and my flight was 6 am Monday morning. So I was left calling nearby vets all Friday morning. Luckily, I called Hill's Vet Hospital where I spoke with Kayla. They were fully booked but she was so kind and understanding about the situation, she asked the vet if they could do anything and thankfully they said they could squeeze Matsu in as an "emergency" between appointments etc. They did a ton of paperwork for me and took great care of Matsu. They got me Matsu's bill of health the same day and we were able to fly out for our move without any issues. I really cannot thank Kayla, Tara, and Sara enough for making their booked day even more hectic just to make sure I could fly safely with Matsu. Kayla even wrote me a super sweet note! I cannot believe their thoughtfulness and would recommend them to any fellow animal lovers. You can trust them to take care of your fur babies (even if you're like me and get stressed about taking your pet to the vet)!

Couldn't get help over the phone ! Being placed on hold for long time just for someone to get back on the phone to tell me I'll get transfer .. probably another 5 -10mins waiting to talk to an actual human being than the unpleasant holding music. Before today's call I actually emailed them a month earlier to set up an appointment for my Maltese.. with my silly wishfulness I kept refreshing my inbox hope to see a reply of that confirmation that's he is welcome. but NO body reply back to my email I ALSO HAVE left my phone numbers also nobody got back to me. TODAY I CALLED AND SAME, NOTHING. But I'm glad because let's say I end up spend tons of money for your services Id probably get no Result just like this premature experiences.. better know now than later. Ive tried. But if I had count on you to save my dog's life he'd be dead by now. I'm wasting my time writing this review, I have wasted of money in Groupon, while I thought it may help you out because you're paying Groupon to promote your new location or whatever the case may be and I wasted time waiting on the phone and wasted time emailing you. Thanks for nothing Hill's

I appreciate the personal service and followup even in this period of "shelter in place due to COVID19." I appreciate Dr. Sara Andre in her conscientious thoughtful and patient explanation to me of the results of my puppy's lab work. She made persistent effort to contact me personally by phone first trying my cell phone then reaching me on my landline then spending the extra time to explain her findings and her recommendations and answering my questions and concerns. It gives me alot of peace knowing my puppy is under excellent veterinarian supervision

Have brought my dog in here twice and have had outstanding experience with them. We had Dr. Sara and she's very conscientious and goes the extra mile with follow-up. They're doing a great job as well with bringing pets in from the lot rather than the owner coming in. Front desk people were also wonderful- I believe initially I spoke with Brittany- super personable and informed. Thanks!

The care was decent but very disappointed about being charged $128 for Simparica flea tablets when I could have bought them at Wal-Mart for $83. Called to say I was bringing the pkg back unopened and told they couldn't take a return. Probably won't be going back.
