I started in May 2019,I love the workouts, the coaches motivation and the new friends I have made. The workouts are as challenging as you let them be. Challenge yourself. What are you waiting for! The science behind OTF works I promise!

When I had originally called to cancel my membership the sales associate I spoke with did not reiterate the fact that a written request was necessary to complete cancelling my membership. Again, I had communicated to one of your associates Ailani, in regards to canceling my membership and had asked if there were further action to complete the process she had reassured me there was nothing else to be done besides our conversation. I had trust your employee and their knowledge on your policy! If I had known that I needed to go in person or submit a written form of cancellation I would have done so back in May when I called. I would recommend that your staff to be better trained in the policies you are upholding. From May to now a rough amount of $396 was taken from me without my knowledge. I understand that might not be a lot for some people but for those who live paycheck to paycheck to stay a float in this economy this is a huge upset. The studio said they would give me a call to have things sorted out. I followed up via email twice within the span of 2 weeks and never hear anything back. Is there an issue with communication throughout your staff? I don't understand why things keep getting said and not happening.

I was looking for a new workout routine and decided to try Orange Theory because I saw on their website that they offered a 30 day risk free guarantee. This is the exact statement from their website, "We know you will love your Orangetheory experience. In fact, just take 12 classes during your first 30 days and if you don't feel like you're living a more vibrant, happier, healthier life, take back all your money and walk away. The first class may be taken at no charge." I joined on June 11th and took a total of 12 classes. After the 12 classes, I didn't feel enough of a change to justify the cost. Therefore, I wanted to execute the risk free guarantee. This is where things went south. I emailed them and filled out the online form on July 10th (29 days after my first class). They responded two days later, so of course the 2nd month automatically charged my card but I wasn't too worried because I was expecting my money back under the risk free guarantee. Well the manager Andrea responded to my request. She stated that I did not qualify for the risk free guarantee because I only took 11 classes, she said the first class didn't count because that one was an introductory class. She said that she would do me a favor and refund the 2nd months charge instead of enforcing the 30 day cancellation notice that is required. She stated that the owner of this orange theory did not appreciate corporate advertising this risk free guarantee. She refunded the 2nd month, but I never got my money back for the 1st month under the risk free guarantee. I escalated the situation to Victoria, the area manager. Here is her response:Hello Andrew,Thank you for reaching out to me, the thirty-day risk free guarantee is available at participating studios only. We do honor it at our locations when asked upon signup, unfortunately since this was not mentioned to our sales when you joined, they were not able to tell you the full rules of the risk free guarantee.Since you did request to cancel within the first 30 days, we waived the 30 day cancellation notice and refunded your second payment. However, since you only completed 11 workouts within your first month of membership, I am unable to refund the first month.Thank you for giving Orangetheory a try, we would love to see you again in the future.Victoria RoblesRegional Sales DirectorAgain, Victoria is stating that I only attended 11 classes. I attended a total of 12 classes. They are being stingy and not following through on their risk free guarantee promotion. This isn't a company that you should do business with. I'm sure they are great for a lot of people, but it wasn't right for me and it's not my fault that they advertise a promotion that some managers do not want to honor. Poor service from the manager at this location as well as the area manager.

Just took a free introduction class and was discussing not continuing the class with another person who was also there for their first time outside. The assistant manager decided to follow us OUTSIDE and ask us why exactly we didn't want to continue and while giving my reasoning (heart monitor really expensive, was confused by the flow, person got hit in the head while lunging due to us not being familiar with the flow) she stated I was extremely negative. Really unprofessional for a manager to follow us outside the business then ask my opinion and be angry that I did not have the correct opinion to her. Won't be retuning to any OrangeTheory with that attitude. I know they are desperate for a sale but that was ridiculous and really UNCOMFORTABLE to be followed outside the business.

Coach Chris and all of the staff are awesome! The CV facility is excellent. The workouts are challenging in a good way and will have you feeling great once you’ve completed them.

Workouts are easy to follow at your own pace. Clean environment and friendly stuff. App is easy to use. Overall a good fit for my current weight loss goal. Thank you Orangetheory!

I have been to all the Orange Theory Fitness studios in the east bay and this is my favorite one. I drive the extra 10 minutes to come here rather than going to the one closest to my house. There's three things I look for in a class: a good coach, good music, and good vibes. When I first started coming here, there was a coach named NV and she was my FAVVVVV. She helped me become more confident in my work out journey and taught me so much about proper form. Unfortunately she doesn't work here anymore but she was a great coach, she had great music, and her vibes were so positive. When I learned that she quit I was sad but I was okay because I would go to Hayward and see my girl V. Now V works for the Castro Valley location. She is also so amazing. Her music is fire, she's a great motivator and she also has helped me a lot with my form and confidence. Brandon is also a coach that's been there for a while and the few times I've joined his class he was also very kind and helpful. My schedule just doesn't align much with his times so I don't see him much. Other great things about this studio are the mirrors. Some studios don't have mirrors on the work out floor. I find having mirrors on the floor so helpful so I can see if I'm doing the exercise correctly. The receptionist are also always really friendly and quick to respond when I have to change class times or cancel classes.

Castro Valley is the studio where I did my first Orange Theory workout and had a great experience. The women at the front desk were helpful, friendly, and encouraging and the workout was AWESOME. I did two free classes per the special last month and then immediately signed up for a package. I am not a jogger/runner normally, but as of class 3, even I'm jogging on the treadmill! I have already factored this into my lifestyle for the foreseeable future. I feel great all day when I work out at Orange Theory in the AM and feel like I'm on my way to a much healthier me :)

I’ve had such a positive experience joining OT Castro Valley about a month and a half ago. I love the atmosphere, motivation from the coaches (coach Brandon and Paul are great!) and I’ve already started seeing results. I was afraid I would get confused with the workouts, but the coaches are always there to get you on track or nudge you with a little extra motivation. Highly recommend joining!

The workouts are fun and doable for everyone, as there are always alternatives available. All of the coaches are super encouraging and play great music! It really is the best workout you can get in an hour. I’ve recommended Orangetheory to a handful of my friends and they’ve all enjoyed it. I’m a “numbers” person and I love that I’m able to see my progress in real time and over time. Throughout the pandemic they promoted safety and adhered to CDC/local guidelines. I honestly have nothing but positive things to say about Orangetheory!

The entire experience from intake process to onboarding to an excellent class with Paul was exactly what I was hoping for. The studio is super clean and the entire team was so friendly and supportive. The workouts always challenge me to push beyond my normal workout limits on my own. I am psyched to go back next week.

Terrible experience, unwelcoming environment. The front desk worker who assisted my partner and I was SO rude and condescending that we ended up leaving before the class even started… which is a shame because we just moved to the area and are searching for a new gym to join! Needless to say we won’t be returning. I wish I could give 0/5 stars! We signed up for a 6:45pm class (6/21) and signed our waivers online. We got to the studio at 6:25pm - it was completely empty. The woman at the front desk (pink nails) was scattered, unorganized and frantic. When checking us in I explained to her that I had taken a class a few years back in SLC and that it was my partner’s first class. This made her extremely flustered - she said she sent a text message to my partner’s phone saying we had to be there by 6:15pm which he did not receive. We apologized (even though we came 20 minutes early with pre-signed waivers…) and asked if it would still be okay to take the class. She said she would be rushed but it was fine. She continued putting in our information and then went back to asking about the text again. She asked why we didn’t get there at 6:15pm and why we didn’t respond to her text - her tone was incredibly rude, sighing and rolling her eyes. I could not believe how unprofessional she was being so I told her we would just leave. My partner tried to pull up the communication to show her that all he received was instructions on the waiver and she had no response. At this point the coach (Brandon) was finishing the earlier class and very confused why she didn’t just set us up - he said we still had plenty of time. He actually seemed pleasant but she went rambling on trying to explain her argument. We felt so uncomfortable by the way we were treated that we just left.. I would not recommend this place to anyone!!
