One of the worst pharmacy’s I’ve ever been two. They gave me less pills then I was prescribed because they don’t understand that one box meant one month and not one week. Instead of just making it right and giving me my owed medication that I paid for they are trying to make my insurance give them another authorization to give me more meds. I don’t need more meds I need the meds I was owed. So I was basically stolen from and they told me unless they find the extra medication on hand they won’t give me my meds. How does that make sense? Because they are incompetent and don’t know how to count pills I am penalized? What a sad excuse for a pharmacist and pharmacy. Why be in the medical field with this subpar way of managing your operations and relationship with customers that are just trying to get their medicine. Sad.

Visiting the area from out of town and the first thing you noticed here is that everything is locked up. Literally everything. Body wash, nail polish, it’s insane. Then, after my wife asked for nail polish she couldn’t be trusted to carry it and was then told to collect it at the front of the store. It’s an $8 bottle of nail polish. If that wasn’t enough, my child was eating candy that we had purchased before coming into the store and the Asian male employee made a whole point to ask my family and I if we paid for my child’s candy. This was after he watched the pay terminal say “accepted,” before letting me grab the nail polish. I’m not sure if this is a California thing but racially profiling Hispanic out of towners and then accusing us of stealing candy is insane. On top of the fact that again, everything in this store is locked up. I would never come to this location again.

This is the worst pharmacy in the world! So absolutely horrible. They make no attempts to answer calls and you will get left on hold for over an hour. Waited over five days for a medication. Was able to get it at CVS in 10 minutes. Switching all prescriptions to Castro Valley CVS because Walgreens is trash and CVS is fantastic!!!

They told me to pick it up. I went to pick it up three days later and THERE WASN'T A MED READY FOR ME. No apologies. Oh and the clerk sucked. Been there since 2013. I waited for 20+ minutes and she let someone cut in line. I told pharmacist. He went over, asked what happened, and walked back. Worst pharmacy I've been in.

This place is trash. My mom has been dealing with them for years. I took my mom today to go pick up her prescription, and she waited in line 40mins-1 hour and they told her to wait for 15 minutes. When she waited 15-25 mins, she went to the front, and asked again they told her ANOTHER 15 mins. I went with her the next time, waited another 15-20 mins, waited again in line for another 10 mins, and they said it still wasn't ready. I talked to "Triet" and he said that we were only making it harder for ourselves and to wait until we were called and they were busy. And I said I am telling you that we have been told numerous times about waiting 15 mins and it be ready so we are only going based on what they are saying. He is a smug and rude employee and does not have empathy. As he spoke to me he smiled and was like I didn't tell you that and then an employee admitted she told her that and as he was talking he was asking us to wait longer and smiling. And I told him that him smiling in a situation where someone doesn't have access to their medication is not okay. They are terrible and they have been doing this for years with no accountability. Seeing this was terrible.

My doctor put in a prescription a week ago. Three days later, they had not filled it. I had to call in and twist their aggravating phone robot's arm to let me speak to a human being. I was on hold for twenty minutes. The phone started ringing (?). It rang about 30 times, and then DISCONNECTED without a single human being bothering to speak to me. I had to call in again, navigate the awful phone robot again, and now there were "more than 3 callers" ahead of me. Another 10 minute wait. I asked why my prescription hadn't been filled, they told me they ordered it and it would be in Monday. Today is Monday. No call, no text, no anything to inform me what's going on. I call in. Another dance with the phone robot, another 15 minute wait. I talk to a person they tell me, "Oh, it didn't come in." What are you talking about? You already had me wait a week for this! They ask me if I'd take 24 pills instead of the 30 (that I NEED and was PRESCRIBED). I said no. Dead silence. I say, "Can you give me an estimate of when it will be filled?" They ask again if I would like 24. "WHEN," I say, "WHEN can I get MY prescription filled?" "We don't have it, that's why I asked if you want the 24." Like I'm the person who's not making any sense here. "When will you be able to give me 30?" "I don't know. The manufacturer don't tell us." OH OKAY, GUESS I'LL JUST DIE THEN. THANK YOU FOR NOTHING.

Spoke with Jorge pharmacy tech. Super nice, helpful and knowledgeable. Jorge literally saved the day by going above and beyond and helped me tremendously especially what transpired the day before, (a mess) with the previous employees that wasn't so helpful. He literally cleaned up their mess and did an amazing job. Hats off to Jorge.

Walgreens in Castro Valley is atrocious. We @were automatically switched to Walgreens after Rite Aid closed. I knew it would be a nightmare but I wanted to be wrong so badly. Nope! It is a big, fat, dumpster fire. It is a mess and there's nothing customers can do about it, other than leave. I could break down the mistakes and needless irritation that I experienced but, honestly, Every. Single. Thing. is bad. I have been delayed getting my medication for days due to their incompetence. Not just once! I'm not exaggerating, I've had prescriptions there 4 times and all 4 times the online pharmacy app has been wrong, calling the store to be put on hold never shorter than 20 minutes only to be cut off & getting transferred several times to be on hold again for a ridiculous amount of time. I have to keep asking my Dr. to give them a second authorization on my meds that don't require an authorization. They ask really invasive questions. I am really pissed at what happened tonight!! This morning my Dr. notified me that she authorized a refill for me. I get a text from Walgreens saying they received it & it would be ready at 3 p.m.I knew that was a joke so, I get a text saying they are running behind & an hour or so later, I get one saying that it's being filled. A couple of hours later I check the status using the app & I have vanished!! No record or mention of the prescription they were supposedly filling & no record of me!!!! They don't recognize my phone number!?!?! Then I get a text saying that something went wrong & for me to call in the morning. I am sorry for the long rant! I am frustrated & once again, no medication. Avoid CV Walgreens at all cost!!!

I go to this Walgreens pharmacy because it is closest to my home. The pharmacy service has taken a nose dive in the last few years. Every time I am there, a new inexperienced person is at the counter waiting on customers. Instead of saying that they don't know why prescriptions aren't ready they are quick to say it is the doctors office and I should call my physician to make sure my prescription is sent for refill. This is constantly happening now and more recently, the girl at the counter told me they were out of my diabetes medication when I could clearly see it in the refrigerator. When I questioned her, she told me the pharmacist told her it was not my prescription. I found that to be an outright lie because she stood in front of me the whole transaction not once talking to the pharmacist. I will be taking my business and my dollars elsewhere.

I go here because it's closest to my work. I start and end shift on weird hours. But tell me me why this place never has my prescription ready? I get if there's an issue, but give me a call or come back to it & resolve it if it's a fill too early... communicate. After working in an outpatient pharmacy myself, I can say, they do poorly on problem resolution. And in healthcare, that's not a great thing. The manager will also say she can't fill prescriptions or do things based on Walgreens policy and not your health or the state/federal law. They will also interrogate you on your prescription per Walgreens policy (apparently) even if you've been to the same pharmacy for months. A question I get every month is why i am Picking up here if my address is in San Francisco? .. well mam... I still work in Castro valley... like I've told you and your staff every month for years now? I've worked in Castro valley for over seven years and used this pharmacy for almost just as long. At one point I did transfer the script and honestly I was so happy because the one in Sf actually had my scripts ready, called me on problems, and had high communication skills... but now my living situation changed and I'm back to this one as a primary. Today the pharmacy clerk didn't even allow me to put in my Walgreens reward number in for points. It popped up on my screen and I tried to enter my number's and the man cleared it... then said I wouldn't get points even though I've worked at Walgreens too. Sighs. So annoying. I just took my prescription and walked out. I really hate leaving negative comments but maybe the feedback will help them improve. I'm always stressed out going to and am continually disappoint by this pharmacy. It sucks ... but I need to come here because it's the biggest pharmacy in the area and will be the most likely to have my prescription when my doctor orders it.

9/15/23 On hold for 52 minutes, after they picked up, they said the insulin is not ready yet. I order a refill on 9/11/23. I asked them to explain why it was not filled. Then conversation was:- Have patience, we are busy.- I am trying to be patient.-Try harder! And they hang up on me...

Sales suck now. I used to come here for everything. Now it's make up remover wipes and laundry detergent only. I will not return here even though it's convenient, Laiea needs better customer service skills.

Just your normal Walgreens store with all your basic essentials for day to day living. It's a clean store in a nice plaza which also offers multiple eateries, cafes, and Ross. Would recommend :)
