When I came down with the Willys virus over 20 years ago, Willys America was there with Paul's extensive knowledge, to get me through the hard times. They can supply the right parts or restore your Willys for you.

Willys America has a lot of neat looking eye candy, however is not open to the general public without an appointment. Folks who stop by and ‘just want to look around’ are not allowed to do so. This business is not a junk yard but a specialty repair garage working on customers vehicles and the limited staff does not have the ability to entertain visitors. If you have a Willys vehicle and want it repaired or restored, this is Thee place, however, call in advance or you will be turned away. It is on private property, and the owner is very protective of his customers privacy.

I am a classic car enthuseist and currently restoring a 4x4. So, when I stumbled upon this place in Cazadero on a recent vacation, I wanted to check it out. I walked onto the yard and was greeted with signs that said no entry and warning me to visit the front office first. My wife and I stayed out of the no entry areas and went looking for the front office. The first person we met didn't greet us. He was leaning over an old Willy's convertible and eye'ed us suspiciously. I asked about the front office and he immediately said "This isn't an amusement park. These are people's cars!". We weren't even looking at or touching any cars(believe me, I've had cars at auto shows and I know destructive looky-loo-es). He wasn't interested in any business or conversation and I found him to be very rude. For all he knows, I could be a phone customer picking up an order, or a new client wanting to spend $90k on a new restoration job. This guy was rude and downright hostile. After our experience, my wife and I laughed it off and looked up other reviews. Truly, this business is hostile to customers. I would avoid them. Many people in the classic car restoration business are charming and welcoming. We're a small community of weirdos and enthusiasts. For a company that depends on this small group of people as patrons to treat customers like that is appalling. I guess they want to go out of business, and with that attitude...at the fastest speed. So, please send your money and good will to other companies and let this bad apple whither on the vine. He clearly doesn't care about our business.

Just like the general store in this town, not too friendly and kind of ignore you. Just so weird telling people how they can and can't use photos they take making you sign a waiver. This town just gave us a weird vibe.

Called inquiring about a rebuild for a restoration build. The team member that was transferred to my call laughed at some questions, and at times remained silent when, I can only assume, he felt the questions were "**** questions". After the silence followed a smart reply on occasion. The questions asked weren't anything out of the ordinary, and were important things to note. Questions such as, if they had a part available in-stock, and because they perform machining operations, what a good budget for a rebuild of that particular part would be. I'm literally asking them how much a safe, and overly-high budget would be before starting their service, so that I could afford their service without any complications. Zero information was conveyed in the call, aside from the supposed fact that when asking if he knew of any partner stores or locations to call for a used part, I "Wouldn't find anyone else, good luck trying." I understand the staff is old-school, but there's a difference between being old-school and being unhelpful. I will however, say that their inventory and store looks impressive, and they appear to do great work. That being said, without proper, or even helpful communication, doing business is next to impossible. Willys are a really cool part of history, and I wish the best to you and your team. Keep that Willys America dream alive.
