“I just witnessed a dangerous situation involving a mentally unstable person threatening people with a wood stick in Artesia, and I was so nervous when the sheriff arrived because with everything happening lately you just don’t know what to expect but very pleased to see how the sheriff handled the situation by de escalating the situation and calling mental health workers to the scene. It could have gone so wrong In so many ways because the individual was very aggressive and offensive but the sheriff did an amazing job and he got the help he needed and everything ended peacefully.”
