If I could post zero star, I would. I dealt with them years ago. Volunteered and helped them with weekly food donations & rescue. Carol, who runs this place was a b***h when I met her and from reading the reviews, she still is. I stopped helping them and did my own thing. She is ungrateful, self-absorbed, judgemental and unprofessional!! Thank you, Faith T. for posting her cell #, I just needed to verify that this in fact is Carol. Carol, time to hang it up, when you aren't "Beneficial" to any animal or their owners!

one of the most irresponsible and careless shelters. i have only had one experience with them and it is all i need to know it is a horrible place and do not care about their animals. i adopted a cat from barc that did not have its nails cut and were completely overgrown which in itself is a simple task of caring for an animal. but after taking the cat to the vet because it looked like he had a ton of ear wax build up, they come back with two hard balls the size of dimes, what they called dry blood and build up and dirt and continue to say it is the worst they have ever seen and must have been this way for a long time. they also mention he has ear mites and they are highly contagious. barc and petco kept this cat in a cage with other kittens. i'm glad we got him to take care of him because obviously they don't. i would hate to see their other animals as well

I love BARC! I have to say they are amazing and we rescued a wonderful puppy from them. 2mths ago we went to just get dog food at pet smart and ended up bringing home Cammo with us as a friend for our other dog Sammie. They were so informative and they were very communicative with me by reminding me when her last booster shot was due ( which they provided) and also a reminder when her spay appt that was already scheduled was. They even contacted me 2 months later just to see how she was doing with us. We are so happy with our new little girl and her bug sister loves her so much and she loves her big sister. It was a match made in heaven. Thank you BARC for being wonderful! I'd highly recommend rescuing a wonderful animal from them that needs a loving forever home!

No, I can understand why they have such low reviews they don’t get back to you. It’s pretty sad when you want to adopt an animal that really needs a home and you can’t get a hold of any but it’s like they really don’t care what you know what this reviews for whoever runs this place get your act together honey!Someone is a really report you, don’t bother calling the number because she won’t get a hold of nobody. She’s a terrible person and rude

I have had my Henry for 3 years. BARC was so helpful with helping me find the perfect dog. Henry goes with me everywhere. He was my companion through Covid stay home mandates. He is the calmest sweetest dog ever.I am so glad I went to BARC. Thank you! ?

I had the worst experience with carol over my wording when talking about a dog. She asked if I knew a dog I was going to see in a couple of hours will be neutered I said yes she then proceeded to say I sound “unsure” I told her no I’m not unsure my dogs in the past have been neutered. She then says you will need to bring him back to be neutered I said ok. Immediately her tone changes and she says I need applicant who will say of course I will bring him back to get neutered…. we need to think about it, then hangs up in my face! She is one of the rudest people I’ve met in a while. It’s unbelievable how people who are supposed to help the public find their next babies can be so careless, rude, disparaging, ignorant and disheartening! Do not put your trust in them they will let you down!

BARC, everyone should donate, anything you can afford, to this place! The lady at BARC, was so patient and kind. You could tell she loves animals. She has a dozen cats at her house and even more at the site, located next to cherry valley feed store on Vineland st and Beaumont Ave. Please check them out and thank them for all their hard work!

These people are absolutely abhorrent and a sorry excuse for a rescue. I contacted them as per their adoption contract if any animal of theirs ever needed to be returned. I recently had a baby (he's only 5 months and unable to bother any animal) and the stress of the life changes has really disturbed my sweet little Siamese that I adopted from them 12 years ago and wanting a better, less stressful life for her led me to contact barc to try to find her a new home with less commotion. I was met with judgement right off the bat by Alma. They don't keep records of their feline adoptions and I explained that I had been in an extremely abusive relationship where when I attempted to divorce the individual he destroyed all paperwork, my computer, even photos of my deceased parents (all thoroughly documented by law enforcement and a court ordered restraining order). Instead I was told 'there's no proof this is our cat'. I have personally worked in animal rescue for years until stepping back due to time commitments with other projects and I know the stress that rescues face. I never demanded they take her back. I offered to even foster her until we could find her another home. I purely asked for help in finding her a better life and was judged and shut down harshly. I love my pets so much. They are my first children. My vet can even verify my dedication to my pets so this wasn't a decision I took lightly or without great turmoil and barc treated me like garbage. These people are jerks
