The Bidwell House is a beautiful bed and breakfast near Lassen National Park. The property features beautiful grounds, a delightful lobby and sunroom, and clean, comfortable rooms with old house charm. Guests can stay in well-furnished suites, including a two-bedroom option. It is described as a hidden gem and something of a cross between a small hotel and a B&B. The friendly service and wonderful staff are frequently highlighted. Breakfast is a standout, with unique, delicious, and custom-made freshly cooked meals. Complementary coffee and cookies are also enjoyed. The location is convenient for visiting Lassen and is close to a lake. Some guests note the nearby main road could bother light sleepers, and there is still visible fire damage in the area from past fires. While the town of Chester has little to offer, local dining options like a pizza parlor and a brewery down the street provide good food. The owner accommodates late arrivals when notified. Overall, it is a highly recommended place for a romantic getaway or a friends' trip.
Saddest Burned out Place to Remember why the woods are still in the Reserve. I guess the house protects as First to arrive as a Home lost to Guardianship.

I am in love! Chose this b&b to go to Lassen park for 2 nights. Amazing service breakfast is exquisite. Look at that omelette with bacon and on a toast. The other morning were eggs sunny side up with prosciutto. The decorations are antique and nice to look at. Stuff is super friendly.
