I called in to cancel an appointment that was actually a rescheduled appt., and I honestly was on the verge of tears. Lol. They were so nice. I have a Jeep who has been my best jump and run buddy for ten years now, and there is something quirky going on with it. I needed C.A.T. to drive it and run a diagnostic. I did have someone jump in and offer to run a complete diagnostic, no charge, and right now, that was extremely helpful. We discovered that the problem is relatively minor and I'm relieved. I will add that Chico Auto Techs was highly recommended by a local mechanic who has referred others when he is over scheduled with fleet work, etc. He said he has never been disappointed with the feedback he receives from their shared clients. So, with that said, I will have no inhibitions to return to them for major repair work when it is needed. Thank you, Chico Auto Techs, for your understanding of my little dilemma.

Have used them half a dozen times. I have caught them being honest more than a few times, and they are good at what they do. I have a service background and yes this is very rare nowadays.

I took my car to the shop for an intake manifold issue. They found other codes related to the timing and replaced all the timing parts. Initially, my car was in the shop for about 2 weeks. When I got it back, the same issues reappeared after just two days, and they were worse. During this time, I checked the oil and fluids and found that the oil was overfilled and leaking.
I returned the car to the shop where they worked on it for another week or so. They charged me for more parts, but those didn't solve the problem. I then went to the Volkswagen dealership to check the part numbers. They confirmed that the wrong timing chain had been installed. Despite assurances from the shop that the timing chain was correct, the car continued to have similar problems. I returned the car to the shop at least four to five times only having it less than a day and under 30 mi before the problem reappeared.
Later, one of my fuel injectors went bad, possibly due to the incorrect timing. They charged me $1,000 to replace it, even though it typically costs about $400 for my specific Volkswagen model. When I picked up my car after the injector replacement, it had less than a gallon of gas.
It has taken them months without fully fixing my car, and I have spent about $5,000 on repairs through them. Frustrated, I contacted the Bureau of Automotive Repair, who also questioned the timing chain issue. Today, I picked up my car from the shop again after the fuel injector replacement. And it will most likely be back at the shop in a couple days due to their negligence.

These guys did my smog and they were amazing! I made an appointment and I was so surprised that my car was ready in 7 minutes. The mechanic also checked my breaks, my tires, and driving belt just to make sure my car was good to go (and nothing was sold to me in that regard). I highly recommend them.
UPDATE: I have been back to Chico Auto Tech for a few things since my first experience with them (smog) and they continue to be professional and amazing. This last time my AC stopped working on a hot week and they were able to get me in with a very short notice and fixed my car in no time. Thanks again> You have earned my business

I have been going to Chico Auto Tech for years. They are thorough, fair priced, they have sone quality work on every vehicle I have taken to them. They’re professional and everyone is super nice. I wouldn’t go any where else for my auto repair.
