If there was a person with the most empathy, kindness, caring and heartfelt love for animals it is Dr. Darling. We have been seeing him with all our many pets, farm animals and then some since 2007. He is the absolute best! Too many stories to share, but Dr. Darling is truly a man with the kindest heart and so gentle. He treats every single family like " you are the best pet owner and he loves your pet(s) the most. He truly loves what he does and it shows. The office staff is just as wonderful. All loving, kind and extremely empathetic individuals. Always so helpful. We love Darling Veterinary Clinic

Dr. Darling and his staff are the absolute best. They have taken such care of all my animals. When I had to put my sweet Katie down because of congestive heart failure, Dr. Darling cried with me. He is the most passionate caring vet I've ever had for my animals. HIs new companion vet is a mirror image of Dr. Darling when it comes to compassion and care.

Dr. Darling and his staff, are outstanding. They took such excellent care of our dear dog Cinnamon. She wasn't eating and Dr. Darling went to the ends of the earth to find a solution. He sincerely cared. And now she is eating again! We thought we might loose her, but she is her chipper self again. Thank you all sooooo much, Cyndy and Rick Skala

We need more vets like Doctor Darling. My black lab just had his last day and Doctor Darling made the process as painless and peaceful as he possibly could. I couldn't have asked for a better person to help with this extremely emotional and difficult situation of euthanizing my 16 year old best friend. But even before his last day, the routine vet appointments with Doctor Darling have been stress-free and informative. Not only does he have a ton of knowledge about animals but he cares immensely for them and will give you his advice as if your pet was his own. I've recommended Doctor Darling to all my friends and family who now take their pets to him, too. Also, Denise (the new receptionist) at the front desk is very kind and helpful! Darling Vet Clinic is the best! 10 stars!!

My Wife and I cannot state how HELPFUL and KIND the Staff and Dr Darling are at Darling Veterinary. Our doggo was on her way out and they ran test after test on her, she's now back to normal and healthy. We are forever loyal customers! Thank you!

Receptionist is rude and unprofessional... With that being said my dog was very sick and they his practice is just to refer them out.... Im new to Chico and made and paid for a meet and greet appointment so i would have an a vet i could take my two dogs to... wrong no one told me he mostly sees large animals vet and is almost always in the field. His priorities are not with dogs and cats.

Based only on today's visit. I work at the hospital and my husband is a teacher- we both left as early as possible to make this last appt. Of the day for our dogs. Upon scheduling I informed the scheduler of this fact and she kindly stated "I will add a note that you will arrive by 415, should be fine". We arrived right at 415 and same receptionist stated "you are late and they will not be able to have their exam". She claimed she would never have said that and was embarrassingly patronizing. Up until this interaction based on the Dr and techsI would have said a 5 star review. This really disappointed our family.

What a great vet. We felt welcome from the moment we stepped in to the office until we left. Our puppy loved Dr. Darling and that love was reciprocated. No pressure, no up-sells, just extremely good care. Big thanks to all the staff!

I dont know how the vet is but I had heard good things about him so I called to get an appt. The woman who answered the phone was incredibly rude -just really cruel and mean. I explained that my vet had recently retired and I have several elderly pets who needed checkups. She seemed annoyed that I called. This person raised her voice, said the "doctor wants no new clients" and hung up! Ok, strange and surprising but everybody is entitled to a bad day. I waited about a week, called again - sounded like the same person - I again explained about my issues and that this vet was the closest to my home and I'd really like to get an appt. Once again the raised voice - almost screaming "We arent taking new clients'"!! So, I guess they arent taking new clients! I'm not sure why I was treated like this. They dont know me and I dont know them. It just seems harsh to act like that when she could have just explained the situation and maybe offered to let me know when they could take new clients. None of that here. If thats how the receptionist is trained, maybe its not a bad idea for me to skip this vet.

Been to a number of vets in Chico and Dr. Darling surpasses them all. He is adept at ways of looking at and palpitating your animal, FIRST, as opposed to just rushing into expensive diagnostic equipment and procedures. Our animals keep us sane. Dr. Darling demonstrates his own understanding and compassion, of not just a vet, but as an animal owner, himself.

I cant say enough great things about Dr Darling! We are goat owners and we had some born premature and there was some complications. with no appointment I called early in the am and he was willing to see our dying baby. He was able to save her and gave me updates all day long. He even sent me a picture of him feeding her. You can see the passion and love he has for all animals. The bill was reasonable and we are very happy with Dr Darling.

I am very happy I found this veterinary clinic for my kitties! The staff are very friendly and professional. The office very clean too. The most wonderful thing is how fantastic Dr. Darling is with people and animals! I recently moved to Chico from the Bay Area. I was nervous about finding a new veterinarian for my kitties. Especially as one spoiled kitty is quite bratty at the vets. All went wonderfully and Dr. Darling took lots of time with us going over history and their current health. Very gentle with the animals and genuinely cares. I am so happy and relieved to have found this great office!
