Boo Hiss! on Enloe Home Medical Equipment. People with Medi-Cal insurance BEWARE. STOP. GO NO FURTHER. Enloe staff members, including the emergency room staff, pharmacy staff, hospital staff, Enloe Home Medical Equipment and the discharging services staff will, person-by-person, casually ask you: If Medi-Cal does not reimburse Enloe for this, will you pay for this walker (or crutches or wheelchair) out of pocket yourself? If Medi-Cal does not reimburse Enloe for this, are you able to pay for these prescriptions yourself, out of pocket, today? Can you "handle" the payment for your own UBER/Taxi to leave upon medical discharge right now? Your answer should always be "NO". IF YOU ARE ON MEDI-CAL, you have an insurance company. Your insurance company is called Medi-Cal. Medi-Cal will pay for every service I mentioned above if you were taken to an emergency room in an ambulance and received these services associated with that emergency. Enloe staff, meanwhile, are trained to ask the patient if they will pay for the service/product out of their pocket if Medi-Cal does not reimburse Enloe. Enloe staff ask patients that same question for EVERY ancillary product/service they offer (pharmacy, equipment, taxi upon discharge) step-by-step along the way, because: 1) A "yes" response from the patient gives Enloe the GREEN LIGHT to directly bill the patient at the retail rate, which is exactly what Enloe did with me for every single service mentioned above. 2) Enloe doesn't want to be reimbursed at Medi-Cal rates 3) Enloe doesn't want to work with/through Medi-Cal's process for reimbursement., which I might assume could be a bit more cumbersome than private insurance I called Medi-Cal the day after my ambulance ride to the Enloe emergency room and explained I paid for my own prescriptions because Enloe Pharmacy said I was out area (I was on vacation). If I wanted my pain medications that day (or at all) I needed to pay for them with my own cash, check or credit card. Upon hearing this, my Medi-Cal rep said "NO!!" and she immediately called Enloe Emergency Room Pharmacy and spent 30 minutes wrangling with them to accept Medi-Cal reimbursements and reverse the charges to my Credit Card. Medi-Cal went to bat for me. Do NOT LET this unscrupulous Enloe system (Hospital, Emergency Room or any of the unscrupulous, legally separate organizations that use the Enloe name) get away with this. It's against the law to directly bill a Medi-Cal patient. As a patient with a broken bone, in a lot of pain, at the emergency room for 6+ hours with no pain meds during the process, it seemed to me that a decent human being (like me) would say "Sure, if Medi-Cal does not reimburse you, I'll pay for the cost of the TAXI/UBER at about $18 upon discharge. Yes, I'll pay for the prescriptions for about $21 if Medi-Cal does not cover this or will not reimburse you. Yes, I'll pay for the $80 walker if Medi-Cal will not reimburse you. As a person of character and integrity, those seemed the the "right" answers to give. Something a decent human being would say. WRONG!!!! I have insurance. My insurance is called Medi-Cal. My answers should have been "NO" to these repeated questions. Enloe hospital, emergency room and staff at ancillary Enloe organizations are asking this same question every step of the way FOR A REASON. I was unknowingly giving Enloe the GREEN LIGHT to bill me directly and not even bother with Medi-Cal. To not contact Medi-Cal at all, or try a few times and happily give up. Which is exactly what Enloe did. Enloe bypassed Medi-Cal and billed me directly (or left me to pay for the service) at retail rates, for EVERY SINGLE ITEM mentioned above. I paid for the $80 walker ... out of pocket, at the retail rate, after receiving invoices addressed directly to me from Enloe Home Medical Equipment. Medi-Cal assured me they will reimburse me. Further, this situation should not have happened in the first place. I should not have received a direct invoice from Enlo

I had one of their wheelchairs last a little more than two weeks before the spokes broke .. the annoying part is before you or one of your loved ones uses one of these wheelchairs either buy a box of bandages or get ready to spend an hour or so de burring the hand wheel .. Both chairs have well over twenty very sharp ends that will slice your hands and fingers right open.. just about every post that connects the handwheel to the wheel has a burr on it .. and their just taking them strait off the boat from China and handing them to patients without a second look..

I have been using Enloe home medical since 2014. Up until the last couple years I have been happy with their services and staff. I use a BiPap and have always gotten my supplies though them. About a year ago I went through some financial issues and was forced to file for bankruptcy. When it was time for me to replace my BiPap tubing I visited their office to purchase the supplies I needed. As I stood waiting an office person came up to me in front of the other customers and began berating me in front of everyone saying that I had not payed my bill and they would not help me. They would not even take my medical insurance. Only cash. I tried to explain I had been through a bankruptcy. The office manager appeared and told me I would have to prove it, then maybe they might help me. Upon my next visit, paperwork in hand, They still refused my business. The rude treatment by the office staff, including berating me in front of other customers was humiliating. I recently found an online source for my supplies that I'm very happy with and they take my insurance. I cannot in good conscience recommend this place to anyone unless they enjoy this type of behavior.

I have been using Enloe HME for about 4 years now. Like any other business entity of the current times, they have their issues I am sure. With that in mind, I cannot recall anytime where I have been a victim of bad circumstance when dealing with any member of Enloe HME team. Always prompt to answer the phone, address my issue and get my regularly scheduled day make on track. They have never NOT returned my phone call within reasonable time frame. They have never cancelled an appointment (that one really grinds my gears by the way). They have always made me feel like my needs are just as important to them as they are to me. No real complaints. Kayla has helped me several times now and been nothing but a pleasure to talk to while she has always done extra to make sure my needs have been met. Not too mention being knowledgeable about her job while being efficient while performing her duties. Thanks Kayla!

Better off going online for your medical supplies. The ladies who are at the front desk are very nice and helpful, but I've had pretty lousy service from the respiratory therapists there on more than one occasion. They don't offer your supplies directly anyways. It's all done by mail and they don't even carry all the products that people need and want that are offered from certain companies. Just find a cheaper online company and cut out the middle man crap they provide.
