Got a haircut from Nichole this morning. It was such an unfriendly experience and I have to pay to get my hair fixed. The whole process for a trim and layering took less than 10 minutes. How? I have hair down to my lower back. She made me feel very uncomfortable and I felt like she was definitely judging me. She seemed annoyed with me right from the start when I was explaining what I wanted.
She definitely seemed to have an issue with my green colored hair. She asked if I bought dye from Sally’s and I explained that I get my dye online. She was snippy and said “I’ve never heard of buying dye online.” She also explained that her daughter who has blonde hair was asking about fun colors and she said she would never let her do the fun colors. That story definitely felt pointed.

I have been going to Supercuts for many years. I like the appointment system. My only disappointment is when your favorite stylist moves away.
Hair type: I have out of control cowlicks but the stylist does her best with them. She can tame them pretty good.

Oddly enough, I had intended to go to the other salon in the same shopping center. However, as I was pulling up, I saw someone walk into the other place. Being under a bit of a deadline, I went over to SuperCuts to see how busy they were. They were able to take me after the briefest of wait times. Everyone was sooo nice. The receptionist and I bonded over cat rescue and care. The hairdresser, whose name I never really got, but who was awesome, really listened to what I wanted done with me hair. The other salon feels a bit like a factory - get them in, get them out. Here, at SuperCuts, I never felt rushed. The hairdresser had me move my head around while she cut my hair to make sure what she was doing worked regardless of my position and to make my hair cut perfectly aligned from side to side (that was the type of haircut I wantes( I wasn’t going for asymmetrical with this haircut). We chatted some, but she also let me zen out for a bit. She cut my hair perfectly and the price was very reasonable. Next time I need a haircut while in Chico, I will intentionally head for SuperCuts.
Requested style: I have long hair. I have!’t had it cut in, well, years, since before the pandemic. In that time interval, my hair has transitioned for dark reddish brown with a few gray strands to majority gray/silver. I usually wear my hair up and it looked odd - gray hair with a dark brown bun. It was like it wasn’t even my own hair. So upon getting a small windfall, I lasered in on getting my hair cut. There is still some dark brown - I didn’t want really short hair (I have all of these items for styling long hair) - but it is not such a jarring difference now.
