“I have been very happy with the Chico, CA Vetco since it opened a few years ago. I originally started going there because my long time vet closed her private practice to open the Vetco so I followed her. She has since left and I have seen a few different vets there and they have all been great. The vet techs and office staff are always friendly and show a lot of affection towards my dogs. Purchasing the Petco Premier package has been working out well for me with a $15 credit per month to spend on vet services, online, or in store. The only suggestion I have is to offer weekend services but the emergency vet is open now 24 hours a day so there is another option when Vetco is closed.”

“I have been here on several occasions with sick animals and I have always left disappointed and extremely unsatisfied with the care my pets received. But this past week I was in with my very sick girl and ended up having to put her down which was a shock I did not go in thinking I would leave with out her. The Dr I had was wonderful Dr Masonek - very thoughtful and made me feel like a long time patient of hers. She made my family feel at peace with our decision. And the assistant who helped me was just the most compassionate and kind young lady, Faith. She brought my son some crayons and a coloring book to distract him while we were dealing with losing our girl.. we were treated very well by them and are very thankful we had such a positive experience here . I thought it was an emergency and even though they were booked for the day they got me in to be seen as soon as I could get there. And it turned out not to be an emergency after all but just the fact that they were understanding enough to treat it like an emergency helped me keep calm. I am so grateful.”

“I know that VCA does not always have the best reviews, the fact they’re the only Emergency Vet in Chico isn’t the best but my family had a WONDERFUL experience with them, well as wonderful as it could be given the circumstances. My sweet cat Hobbs had been diagnosed with asthma on the 3rd of September and on the 8th of September I found myself up at VCA with him with sudden complications from it, ultimately I made the decision that was best for him and let him go. I stroked his sweet head and told him that he’d always be my goodest bestest boi, that I was sorry I couldn’t fix him and that we’d all miss him. I had originally paid for a group cremation, (this was the first time I’d ever had to do this) thinking it’d be fine, well after sobbing most of the night I called at about 5:30 in the morning and through tears and weeping asked if I could pay the difference and do a private cremation. Mia the sweetest person ever said “absolutely”, she texted me photos of their different options and described them to me when I told her they were hard for me to see with my eyes swollen from crying. She was soft spoken, kind and so patient. Nobody prepares you for this but having a vet (and tech!) that reassured me I was doing the right thing, that it was the kindest thing for Hobbs not to let him suffer and having someone kind on the phone patiently explain what you didn’t understand the night before because you were too overwhelmed with grief make it just a little less painful. Our sweet boi is home now and I will be forever grateful to VCA for making one of the saddest decisions I’ve had to make hurt just a little bit less. Please hug the vet that helped Hobbs cross the 🌈 bridge on the 8th and Mia for me!!”
