July 2024 by El S
When I was at WINCO this afternoon around 12:30PM on July 7th, 2024, I saw a gentleman with his service dog come to the deli counter and ask them if he could pay for his cold cuts there because the manager refuses to let him pay for them at the checkout counter. Reason being according to the manager, his service dog was barking, and she wanted them both out of the store. First of all, as a retired animal control officer and animal cruelty investigator myself, she had no right by law to throw them out of the store. I heard the dog bark for a mere 5 sec. at most, twice. That is not considered unruly or a threat to anyone's well-being. Hence, the dog had every right to stay with his owner. Secondly, by law, you have no right to deny a disabled person services of any kind. This manager should be fired immediately. This disabled person and their service dog were denied their civil rights, not to mention their groceries by a bigoted manager who does not care or know the law of disabled people or service animals.
In California, the service dog law guarantees apply to an even broader range of public places than the ADA covers, including:
any place to which the general public is invited (including restaurants, hotels, theaters, shops, concert halls, and government buildings)
medical facilities, such as hospitals, clinics, and physicians’ offices, and
any public conveyance or mode of transportation (airplanes, motor vehicles, trains, buses, streetcars, boats), whether private, public, franchised, licensed, or contracted. PLEASE EDUCATE YOUR STAFF ON DISABLED PEOPLE AND THEIR SERVICE ANIMALS AND REMOVE THE BIGOTS!

This is a pretty good Winco, with really good selection of ready made meals and top quality sushi. The prices are good, the parking is good and convenient and has whatever you need!

Deli Bowls before COVID were 3.98. Used to get 12+ every 2 weeks or so to divvy up between my kids. During COVID the price went up to 4.98, so I gritted my teeth because they were still kind of affordable and my adult kids liked them, so I still got them, but less of them. Recently not only did the bowls change packaging and become smaller also they also went up to 5.98. So they are smaller and you get less with each item. They're made of Deli, Produce and MAYBE some frozen food leftovers! Like the chicken bowls I know are made of 1+ day old chicken strips and previously frozen corn. They were always for my adult kids. So now I won't be getting any of these ever. UNLESS the price goes back to at least 4.98. The bowls, which aren't even in bowls anymore, at their new price are simply NOT worth 5.98. Hungry Man TV dinners are a better choice now.

Really nice fresh veggies and meats. They have a wide variety of everything. Sami was our cashier and even though she was working hard on getting everyone through her line she took the time to talk and kid around with me. She made my day better and I hope that I made hers a little better.

Ghettoest place I have EVER been.
It’s like the grocery store part of the dollar tree, the size of walmart, looks like a warehouse like costco & it is dirty and FULL of ghetto scary people. All of the sounds in the store echo the floor is concrete and cover in trash. I couldn’t even breath because of the dust and dirt.
Seems like AMAZING prices but AWFUL AWFUL experience. Never never never again in my whole life.

Wow! The folks that make up the team at WinCo are always courteous and helpful…but tonight Matt in the deli hit a home run for the winco team, by going above and beyond.
Matt heard my wife ask if deli was open as she wanted some ham cut…but they were not ?
But as we walked away he came out from behind the counter and asked”what are you folks wanting”? We told him…and it wasn’t 30 seconds and he was pulling the ham and making us up exactly what we were wanting.! Thanks bro! Great showing of customer service. Wilco needs More Matt’!

Great place with affordable groceries. But they are very understaffed! The lines are so insanely long there was almost not room for people to stand anymore! They most certainly could use 10 more employees if not more. Thanks for the good groceries though.

Very affordable groceries. they are however very understaffed as checkout and self checkout had astronomical lines. I called their number and the person just said I could check there website for an application. I tried but seemed difficult to navigate. Maybe they should simplify their hiring process.
