Bought t-bone steaks to BBQ. This time they were so tough we couldn't eat them. We're so dissapointed, and they weren't cheap. Not sure if I'll go back or recommend their meats.

This is usually my go to store. Never had one bit of problem with them until yesterday when I bought some eclipse tomatos and went to use them right when I got home and found they were old and moldy and the store manager said he couldn't help me

I was driving by and needed to stop to get some birthday cards and a birthday cake. The inside of the store was nice and open and very clean. The bakery section didn't have the largest selection of cold cakes, but had a nice variety! The cashier had great customer service. If I am in town, I would go back to this Save Mart!

I always have an issue with pricing. There is a statement on their own website that says if an item rings up more than what is posted, you get it free. None of the staff know this, and constantly give me grief over their own policy. Need training to inform staff of this. Price Accuracy Guarantee If the price charged is higher than the shelf or advertised price you'll receive the item FREE (limit one of each item) and be charged the lowest advertised price for all additional same items. Purchases to earn a value item or promotion exclude alcohol, liquor, tobacco, dairy products, prescription and/or pharmacy purchases, gift and financial card programs, money orders, wire transfers, lottery tickets, event and transportation tickets and other products and services which the Company, state or federal agency may deem excluded from time to time.

Friendly people and very convenient. Usually have what I need or an alternative to it. Have dry ice which is great. It is also said that the place might be haunted which adds character to the place. I also love the lights at the entrance. Prices are more than other places but you get what you pay for.

Everytime I come here I always have an encounter with this rude cashier. She's an older woman, with brown hair. She never greets me, just scans my things, and doesn't even offer a bag, even though I'm buying several items. Last time I was in, she told me my total and I inserted my card into the chip reader. There was a sign on the screen asking for my phone number for a rewards program (I'm assuming) and since I'm not part of that I removed my card and pressed skip. The sign wouldn't go away however, so I just stuck my card back in, thinking it would. The lady then stares at me, then leans forward to look at the card reader, then looks back at me and says "um it's asking you something" in a very rude tone, as if I'm d**** I told her I know, I see that, I already pressed skip nothing happened. Then she tried and it took her a few tries before it finally skipped. Then she looks up at me like "was that so hard?" I was very upset, and grabbed my armful of items and left. On my way out I heard her greeting the next customer. I called the store manager when I got home and explained what had happened, and he apologized and said he would talk to her. I don't think he did though, because a few weeks later I went back and she had the same attitude with me. I'm not sure if she's racist, but she sure does treat me differently than her other customers. Because of her, I have to buy my groceries from Madera. I hope management sees this, and handles the situation immediately.

Well stocked. Nice store. Wide isles. Friendly staff. Amazing for such a small town.

we moved here from merced. this SM is SPOTLESS and always in perfect order. Lines never longer than 3 people or reinforcements called in!:) we are weird dieters, the employees are never shy to go searching for an oddball product with me, or then offer to order it is not on the shelf! great place.

Enjoy it while you can, as Stores like these are not going to be around long. The walmarts with their low wages are killing off the good paying jobs, so enjoy a nice clean well stocked store that carries top tier products while you can!

Me and my husband were traveling and stopped at this store. The store had the nicest staff and were very very helpful and walked us around to items we were looking for. Thanks again for all your help!

I bought this ground beef from Save Mart in Chowchilla. There are bits of black stuff (plastic?) ground up throughout the meat! I called the store and was instructed to bring it back. The evening manager, Emmanuel, was questioning how that could've happened. He refunded my money and walked with us to the butcher department to give us another pack of ground beef. He handed me a package and at this point, I'm already pissed and skeptical. So I look at the package that he JUST HANDED ME and there are bits of black stuff in that too!!! He was appalled and embarrassed. They better get to the bottom of this. I'm highly disappointed.

Really love this savemart. Everyone is always so pleasant and friendly - except one or two. Seriously sick of going up to One in particular and after watching her interact with her previous customer takes one look at me and looks like she sucked on a sour lemon. I don't know this person and she may not be required to be friendly but to not be so obviously rude would be nice. Her and another older cashier do this every single time. If there were another grocery store worth going to in our small town I would go just to avoid being treated like a disease! I don't even know you!! Why? Is it just me?

I love the store itself. The African American lady that works in produce is the best employee. I asked her for something once and she walked me from produce to the cheese area which was on the farthest wall. Most employees would just say isle #. Most of the check out people are rude. The baggers are more friendly. Although today I had one small bag and the girl asked if I needed help taking it to my car. I found that odd. I'm only 45 and in good health. The prices are normally good and the store is well stocked.

Good ol' SaveMart! Well stocked grocery store with great prices on produce and meat, and a decent selection of beers. I was surprised to find the Hops of Wrath IPA brewed by local Dust Bowl Brewing Company in their beer section.
