We had a reservation booked out for an entire month and they called 30 minutes before our pick up time to say they have a “recall” on all their trucks. They double book the end of the month and completely lie. The unprofessionalism is unbelievable and they do not care. DO IT RIGHT. People are moving and this is a life changing situation. DO NOT BOOK HERE. Go with UHAUL. They have standards that don’t allow these situations to happen.

Be prepared for a deposit but they’re fast and it’s easy to rent a truck !!! I’ll be back for sure .

Be careful when renting a car here. Take pictures of the car, before you drive it off the lot, and when you return it. Also, take pictures of the fuel gage before you leave the lot, and when you return it. I rented a car back in March 10, 2022. The tank was not full. It was in between 3/4 and full. The Mexican guy was very friendly and pointed out that the tank was not full and even wrote it on my paperwork. When i got home, I noticed that the white car had visible scuffs on it. I drove back in the morning, as soon as they opened, to point them out to the female employee, with obviously dyed hair, that was working that morning. She told me not to worry about it because, in her own words, "all of our cars have scratches." When I returned the car, I filled up at the gas station that's about 2 blocks aways on Broadway and L. Just to make sure that I didn't waste any gas because at that time, it was about $6 dollars a gallon. It wasn't full all the way, but it had more gas than when i picked it up. So I dropped it off, and I asked the same employee, the Mexican woman with obviously dyed hair, if she wanted to come out and inspect it. She told me not to worry about it and that they'd be crediting my card the holding deposit within 24-48 hours. So I went home thinking nothing about it. Two days later I see a $35 dollar charge on my credit card. I called the office and no one answered. It rang about 5 times and then it was forwarded to their main office. After calling about 5 times, I finally decided to drive up there, with my paperwork. The same guy that rented the car to me was surprised. The woman had charged me $35 dollars because she claimed the tank wasn't full. Even though he had marked it on the paperwork. Unfortunately, he said he couldn't help me. I would have to return in 2 days, when she came back from her days off, or call Customer Service number. I called the number and after answering their stupid questions, over and over, I was able to get a refund. Like seriously, she wanted me to provide her with a receipt, proving that I bought the gas! The whole thing was ridiculous! I thought the whole issue was resolved. But i was wrong! Fast forward to 11/1/2022. I received a letter in the mail from Budget Rental. I thought it was a coupon or something. Instead it was an invoice from Budget, telling me that I had caused glass damage to the vehicle that I rented back in March 10, 2022 and that they would be deducting the amount from my credit card that they had on file. I immediately called the number that was provided, 1-800-984-9123. I spoke to a man. I told him the condition of the car when I received it and also the $35 dollar gas fee that the woman tried to rip me off. Not only that but if this so-called damage was caused by me, which wasn't. Why the hell would you wait 8 months to notify me? And who the hell rented the same care during the last 8 months? After putting me on hold for a few minutes, he came back on the phone and told me that I would not be charged anything. He also preceeded to send me a confirmation email which stated the same thing. Although he corrected this issue, I will never be renting again from Budget Rental. I'm sure I'm not the only customer that they have done this to. It's back to Enterprise for me!

I just want to thank Budget for CANCELLING MY TRUCK RENTAL LESS THAN 24 HOURS BEFORE I PICKED IT UP. I rented this truck because I am moving so obviously this last minute cancellation was a huge inconvenience. Did they offer to get us a a new one or help us find a different location? No. Horrible customer service. They offered no help & basically told us we were on our own since "it's the weekend". Never using them again.

I would give this place 0 star if that was an option. I had reserved a 16' rental truck and a hour before they close, they called me to tell me the vehicle that was confirmed for me was not returned. Jose was the individual that called me to tell me that I can call customer service and figure it out because he doesn't know what to do. That's all he kept saying, "I don't know what to do." As an employee of the company it should be their job to figure out a solution and not tell a customer to figure it out themselves. He was very unprofessional and I took it upon myself to contact customer service since he obviously couldn't do it or want to do it. Contacting customer service pretty much had no solution for me either. All they could tell me was they sent an urgent message to the inventory manager and I should expect a call back within a hour. After a hour I called customer service again and they said I wouldn't get a call back because they are all closed already.... So clearly the employees give out false information or don't even know their own hours. I called customer service first thing in the morning and all they could tell me was they will send another message to the inventory manager and I will get a call within a hour, no more than 2. I was even flexible and told them I would take a 12' truck if available. Never ever received a call back. I received a call from someone at this location name Cesar. I told him the situation and he said he can call around and see what stores may have a vehicle. Apparently no stores in the area had a truck. He said he will contact the inventory manager and call me back. Cesar also, never called me back afterwards. At this point it was 30 minutes before I was scheduled to pick up the rental truck that was "confirmed." Luckily I was able to contact Uhaul and they saved the day. Don't waste your time with Budget. Most useless customer service ever. Rather pay a little bit more for a reliable service. I would never ever recommend Budget to anyone. Save yourself the headache.

I don't understand the low ratings for this business. I was stressed about renting for Thanksgiving but I have had a great experience with these guys. I had heard some stories from friends about issues with pre-Apple paying, but they gave me no issues at the counter. They were welcoming and upgraded my car for the same price. Definitely recommend picking up your rental when they open- you can choose your car and they are honest if a car in your category is not ready! They go above and beyond. Turns out there was a screw in the tire of my first car- they had me come right back and upgraded me to a Ford Bronco! Super awesome and is making my Thanksgiving trip a super fun one. Thank you guys for such awesome service!!!

My husband picked up a car at 0800 on the Thursday morning before the Memorial Day holiday. He was not offered the opportunity to go over the car with the agent. They provided a filthy car, that smelled of cigarette smoke. It had a cigarette burn on the passenger seat and on the door panel. In addition there was a spill stain on the driver seat that covered 80% of the surface area. On the carpet behind the passenger seat there was a "stain" that appeared to be chewing gum. The exterior had a large scrape across the rear bumper and a broken light on the lower right side. When I tried to call them a little before 4:30pm (after i got home from work). The location is supposed to close at 5pm and no one answered. After 5 rings it would transfer to the national number. I continued to call the chula vista location each time it transferred (17) times and no one answered. After their posted close time I tried the national number and was on hold for approx 20 minutes before I gave up. Having to spend the entire trip to from and around Utah for 4 days in a car with a disgusting smell pretty much ruined most of my trip. The car is 2019 and has 53k miles on it. And on top of it all the Ford Fusion has Toyota Camry manuals. The car has NJ Plates. The NJ registration expired May 2020 and an insurance card, that expired 1 July 2019, the insurance card did not have the make and model listed. We rent from budget often and have done so for over 20 years. This is the first time I have ever recieved such a disgusting filthy vehicle.

Avis Car Rental: This place is great! I Uber and Lyft when I'm bored in a 2 year span and I also don't want the miles on my BMW. Itza is really awesome and really helpful along with transparency. I tried at other Avis locations and I just didn't care for them. Itza helped me get into a sweet car for work and everything was ready when he said it would be. I understand to each is own when it comes to reviews, however, for customers all it takes is communication with Avis and as a understanding what they can and can't do. Bottom line, Itza helped me tremendously and for that, I am grateful for all of his help because I had issues at the other Avis locations.

Went to rent a 16' plus a car tow from budget. Moving from CA-TX so a looooong drive. Well everything looked fine when we took the truck. That evening as we started our drive it seems like everything was falling apart as we hit 45mins into the drive. They need to give better trucks with better engines for those using it for a long move/drive. The engine kept stalling, hitch lights didn't even work because whoever did the wiring was lazy as hell so nothing stayed, the wipers were horrible !! And it was raining so screw us right. I paid almost 4K for something that could've left us on the side of the road with all our belongings any time. And did they even try to refund or compensate? Of course not. A s*** show I must say.

Rented an SUV that had a paper that stated the car was cleaned and disinfected, BUT I still had trash from the previous renter, windows were DIRTY, and the cup holder and side panel and cup holders weren't vacuumed.

Impressed! I rented a car here this week. The customer service from both Jessie and José was outstanding from the time I walked in until I returned the car. I noticed they took the time to get to know the customers, even knew by first name and did what they could to make sure everyone was well taken care of. Definitely will be back.

Terrible communication, service and operations!I would NOT recommend this company and it's truck rental service. Unfair and honestly not at all sorry for the panic and stress they put their customer into.

For years I rented cars for business and leisure from Enterprise. I was accustom to poor service and long waits. I thought that was the norm - until I tried renting a car from this Budget location. The entire staff demonstrated warm and outstanding customer service. My car/SUV was topped off and spotless. This Budget location provided me with my ideal vehicle while saving me both time and money. Thank you!
