The staff would not return my calls or emails over crucial tax information that I needed. Tim filed my personal and business taxes for the 2021 year and the Franchise Tax Board said that I still owed them $11k after that tax year should have been completed. FTB said they needed to make a "change" to my taxes and I got hit with a surprise bill and no way to resolve it with my tax service. I later noticed that others were having the same issues with BRN.

My family has used their tax service for many years. I had the opportunity to work with them to prepare taxes. I am so grateful for the patience and diligence to help me file the taxes by the extension deadline. I highly reccomend BRN and their professional staff.

I had high hopes that I had found a quality tax accountant after my first consultation at BRN, seemed professional and knowledgeable. The job that I requested got done correctly and in a timely manner. However after initially getting an estimate of $250 for the work, I was charged $400. In addition, I was told 3 separate times by the office staff (very nice ladies) that Tim Neller would call regarding some questions I had and he never called. He also did not call or respond to a question I sent via email. All my requests were made very politely and were reasonable questions. I will continue looking for a tax accounting firm, as I will not do business with anyone who ignores clients' questions.

I was referred to Tim Neller by a professional colleague. I'm a residential real estate broker. For some previous years I burned through 2 other tax firms and 1 bookkeeping firm. They were okay (the CPA was very expensive) and I didn't know that better choices existed. Once I sat down with Tim, I knew I had a good human being who would take the time to get to know my business and my family - and understand our needs and just as importantly - the manner of doing business which I value. Everyone's situation is different, but for my family and I, we literally could not be happier. I feel well-taken care of, know I'm getting sound counsel and have zero concerns about my books and taxes being prepared correctly. I can sleep at night now. I like to thank BRN tax for being so helpful. I met with Tim Neller and he was great and informative, he made sure that all my questions were answered and he gave me multiple tips and advice. Tim is nice knowledgeable and will make sure that you leave happy. It was my first time after moving from oc and was very pleased with his services.

My husband and I have been going to BRN Tax for many years. I think we started going there around 2010. Tim Neller was a Godsend for us when we were first looking for someone knowledgeable and trustworthy to handle our taxes for us and he continues to be that for us to this day. I was self employed and my husband was in the military when we first started going to BRN and so our taxes were pretty complicated. Now my husband is retired from the military and my employment situation has changed and Tim continues to be able to help us through all of our life changes. Tim also helps my son with his taxes now as well, which is much appreciated! Tim and the rest of the BRN team are always very responsive to our questions and tax concerns and are always very helpful. They take the time to explain things to you and make sure you understand. I highly recommend BRN Tax to anyone looking for dependable, knowledgeable and friendly tax experts. We trust Tim and the rest of the staff with our taxes and continue to return to them every year for our tax needs. You will be very happy and satisfied if you choose them too :)

If you are looking for an excellent tax person, you must call Dave Ruch. He's easy to get a hold of and very knowledgeable. We have referred a lot of clients to Dave and everyone has been extremely happy with his service. He's also one of the only tax people we have found that thoroughly understands the tax implications of short sales and foreclosures. "Dave is recognized by the IRS as one of the premier tax accountants in San Diego."

I truly had a terrible experience that I am still dealing with months after tax season. I had to get an amended return because of a mistake that was made on their end, and apparently the only way to get the amended return to the IRS was to snail mail it. After mailing it and waiting 2 1/2 months to hear back, I received a late payment notice from the IRS and am currently on the phone with them trying to sort it out still. I will not be returning here to get my taxes done again.

Tim has been super helpful. I’m trying to sort out some complicated financial stuff (complicated to me, maybe not to him). He can easily see when Im lacking knowledge or have a misconception and he takes the time to explain. He explains in way I can understand, but it doesn’t come across as condescending at all.Unfortunately, now I get why so many people dislike the IRS. Ignorance was bliss, so to speak. But since they can’t be avoided, I’m glad I have tim and BRN tax to keep me out of trouble.

I received a referral to BRN tax from an attorney I met with. I didn't love the Attorney, but I've been very grateful for the ongoing support I received from TIM at BRN. My financial situation has changed quite a bit and I knew very little about what I was supposed to do with it all. He's thoroughly explained everything. He seems to easily recognize where I'm lacking information and he explains what I'm missing or misunderstanding. We've met three times and had several phone conversations. I'm very pleased so far.
