Cashiers lack costumer service skills. Two unfriendly experiences, go to Bonita dollar tree or across southwestern college instead.

This store is pretty clean, and stocked Everytime I go. The cashier's need better training on the POS registers. I wanted to pay $1.98 on a card to finish it off, every register is capable of entering the amount first and then sliding the card for the exact amount entered, you can also do this yourself at self checkout with the partial payment button. I told the cashier, Alyssa, I wanted to put $1.98 on the card, she smiled and said oh k, rang me up and said $5.44. Just to make sure I said $1.98 on a card. She smiled and said okay. So I slid my car put in my password and it asked me if I wanted to pay $5.44 and I repeat it to her I only wanted to pay a $1.98 on the card and she told me to just hit yes. Of course the card declined because there's only a $1.98 on it and she said oh it's declined. I said I know I only wanted to pay a dollar 98 on the card. And I told her you put a dollar 98 in your register and hit debit and I pay $1.98 with the card and the rest in cash. She just stared at me, and I asked do you know how to do that? She said no. So I paid $4.50 first and ended up paying 93 cents on the card. So now I have $1.05 on the card still. I know Dollar Tree does this because I've done it before, I literally just left a different Dollar Tree and did the same thing with a different card. They just didn't have everything I wanted so I had to go to another Dollar Tree which was this one. The cashiers need to be trained better!!!

I accidentally walked in thinking it was Ross, only to realize it was Dollar Tree. Most items were $1.25, but not everything—like the Advil (24 tablets) I bought for $4.75. Still, I picked up two travel toothbrushes and a nail file for $1.25 each, which I thought were good deals.
The store itself is pretty small, and there was only one cashier working on a Monday night. On the plus side, there’s plenty of parking outside, and overall, it’s a decent little store.

Terrible customer service on 8/1/25. The two younger guys as cashiers were awesome & helpful. The manager Tania? & her assistant kept me waiting for about 20 minutes without a single word. They had to call them again on the intercom because I came by to pick up an online order. Barely said two words to me & when I asked if it was possible to get help taking one of the boxes to my car because I’m pregnant, she basically shrugged me off with a sour look on her face and said once the cashier was off his break.. mind you she wasn’t doing anything. Idk how they are in a management position, they were the worst people I’ve encountered in a while.

Terrible service
They saw I had a bunch of items, and I had ice that kept spilling and had so many items to carry to my car. I kindly asked the store manager TANIA FOR HELP TO GET THE ICE IN MY CAR SO THAT IT WOULDN’T KEEP SPILLING ALL OVER THE PLACE, Since it was melting. She had about five employees to replaced in the Birthday party area, putting things away, One was on the register, And her excuse was “sorry I can’t help you. I have to go clean the isles”
I tried to explain the ice that I bought was melting and making mess and the faster we got it to my car, the The less mess.
She looked at me like a deer in headlights.

I want to express my dissatisfaction with the terrible customer service provided by an employee named Priscila at the Dollar Tree located at 816 Paseo del Rey, Chula Vista. Her attitude was rude and unprofessional, which is unacceptable for someone in a customer-facing role. I believe situations like this negatively impact the customer experience and should be addressed by management.

Was told I couldn't do a refund even though I had my receipt and it is not over the 30 days. I have returned before with no problem. The 2 employees could not figure out what to do and while they struggled with basic register functions, the line grew down an aisle. Very poor customer service. Very poor training. And to think, this was one of the better Dollar Trees. Not anymore. I'll stick to the location in Bonita.
