My dad had left my ring here to get it fixed and somehow the stones were missing. They had the ring for like 2 months so my mom and I went to the shop to figure out what happened. We asked about it and the old man was very rude, used gods name in vain, and started yelling at my mom, and then called me a curse word... we never raised our voice or anything we were simply trying to figure out what happened.

This is a great family owned store with a lot of inventory and unique items. I wanted to get a watch battery. They handled it quickly and the price was extremly fair. Nice place for all your jewlery needs and more.

I work nearby and noticed this place once during lunch, I've had a white gold ring I've needed resized for some time. Went in and asked if they could do it, nice lady at the counter said they could and to bring it in. Couldn't go in the next day but I did that week. They took it and sized my finger and said it should be done in a week, not a problem I said, see you in a week. I come back following week and they said it's not ready to come back in a few days. I come back the following again it wasn't ready. I get into an argument and ask for my ring back, I'm told it is offsite but can be picked up tomorrow. The next day before I head over and call in and whoever answered said the ring was ready for pick up. I head over later that day and the ring feels a little bigger, maybe, I might just have been gaslit and they didn't size it up but they convinced me to leave it for one more day to size it up a bit more. So I leave it for the next day. The next day sure enough I go over to pick it up and the ring was now too big. We argue back and forth with Mike the owner. Their attitude was absurd, and insulting, that value of my ring came into question and that I had probably gained weight in the week I had first dropped confirmed by them telling me I looked fatter. Amazing customer service skills only matched by their skill with gold, wish I'd read reviews first, now I have a ring too big for my fat finger. Poor work that takes forever and comes with insults.

On July 23 I took a bracelet with a broken charm to get fixed to M and M Jewelry. I was hoping to get it back in a week as it was part of an anniversary gift. Once at the store I showed the bracelet to the young lady at the front desk explaining the issue with it and she called one of the workers who seemed to be in charge of fixing the jewelry). He took a look at both pieces of the bracelet, the broken heart shaped charm and bracelet with the second charm attached. He gave an estimate of how much it would cost to fix it depending on if he needed to be lasered or not ($15-$20). After that he gave the bracelet and the heart charm back to the lady at the front desk. She wrote a receipt for me to take home and mentioned that the bracelet should be done in a week or two. Once in the car, however, I received a call from the young lady from the jewelry store asking if I had taken the charm with me because she couldn't find it at the front desk. I explained to her I had left both pieces at the jewelry place. She just said they were going to look for it. On August 3, a week later, I called to see if my charm and bracelet were ready but the young lady told me no, that it would be done in another week. On August 9th, I called again to see if they had fixed my charm. Again they said no since it had to be lazer fixed and that it would cost $25. On August 31st, I called again to see what the status was of my bracelet and charm. The young lady said no since it had to be lazered. At this point, the owner got on the line and asked me if I had taken the charm with me. I was surprised by the question since it had been over a month since I had taken it in and after a few calls they kept saying it needed to be lazered, when in fact they had misplaced then. He tried to tell me that I might have taken the charm at the time I dropped it off. I asked him what was he going to do about it. He said he would keep looking and if not he would find another. I told him it needed to be the same one and he said he knew what it looked like. He also tried to tell me I was being rude in my questioning and he didn't want to continue talking to me and he hung up. I called back to find out his name. The young lady told it was Mike, the owner. On September 23 I got call from Mike the owner to pick up my charm because it was ready. I asked him where he found the charm, since it had been lost for nearly 2 months. His rude reply was "It doesn't matter" and he hung up. September 26 I went to pick up my charm, expecting it to be fixed. Instead the young lady at the counter brought the charm out in a bag NOT FIXED. The owner Mike, from his work station tells me he wasn't going to fix it because I was rude to him, and that he basically didn't want my business. I have taken watches to get new batteries in the recent past. The young lady and young man have been very polite and pleasant. I still have an antique clock that they sent out to be fixed that is there not repaired. The owner, Mike, has been and is a rude person. Other than him I would continue to do business with M and M Jewelry. As soon as I get my clock back I will take my business elsewhere.

This business is trying to rip off your money. The old man was fixing my eyeglass, but after a week it was still broken, I bring it back to the store but he refused to fix it. He told me to come back the next day and also wanted to charge $20.00 more. He was being un professional and treated the customer (me) with discrimination because I am asian . I do not recommended this store especially with the broken eyeglasses, I have a friend is who's a professional jeweler and he said that the frame can not be soldered because it is not gold, and this store will do anything to get the Money without the warranty. Make sure you ask the old man working there if he can fix it before you pay.

Do not go here! I brought in 2 rings to be sized. They not only made the rings too small, but chipped the stone on one of the rings. Then had the nerve to say I brought it in chipped. I had only worn the ring 2 times. When I brought back my wedding set to be sized properly, they wanted to charge me again and were nasty when I said I shouldn't have to pay for it again! The store is old and dated. So sorry I brought my prized possessions here.

I wish I could give zero stars! My mom has been coming here for 40+ years so when my necklace broke, she offered to take it here to get it repaired. She dropped it off in June and was told it would be a week. After weekly calls for the next 5 weeks it was finally done. When she brought it to me it was clearly not the same chain. My chain was 18 inches and hit right above my scrubs perfectly. This chain was well below my scrub line and appeared to have been repaired 3 times, where mine was new within a few months so only had one break. My mom then returned to the store and was told that it was impossible that it was the wrong chain because they work on them individually in envelopes. When she pointed out the size discrepancy (this one measured 21 inches as opposed to my 18 inch that was dropped off), the jeweler stated that "gold stretches." This is obviously absurd as there is no way it stretched 20% of its length and especially if they claim it sat in an envelope the entire time. They said they would look for my chain. This happened in July. After continued weekly calls they agreed to send us with a new chain of the appropriate length. Excuse after excuse followed for months (the buyer didn't have anything comparable, they were out of town etc). So finally the week of thanksgiving (5 months later!!!) she returned and questioned the repeated excuses and asked for a resolution. She pointed out a chain comparable to what was dropped off. The jeweler agreed and gave it to her then proceeded to yell at her and kicked her out of the store saying she's never allowed to come back (don't worry Mike, we don't trust you and had no intentions of going back). Liars, rude, untrustworthy and thieves. Stay far far away or if you must use them for repairs make sure you watch them do the repairs or they'll try to scam you and give you lower quality items in place of your good jewelry.

Went there with a coupon from San Diego Union Tribune that said, Watch Batteries (for most watches) Includes Installation Lithium (Reg. $7) $5 w/coupon, $3 WITH COUPON (Reg. $5.00) NO LIMIT. Handed the lady at the counter two Omega Watches and the coupon. Without saying anything she took my watches to the counter behind her and proceeded to open the back of one of my watches, once it was open she said it will be $15 per watch. I'm sure I looked back at her stunned at the cost and she said some "expensive watches" are more. I asked how much was the battery and she could not tell me. At that point the Jewler/Owner spoke up said batteries could cost as much as $20 depending on the battery (but did not tell me the cost of the battery) but he said the reason for the higher cost was not the cost of the battery but for the "liability" of working on an expensive watch. After hesitating I agreed to have the Watch batteries replaced in my two watches for which the receipt said 2H6 Batts $30, Tax $2.63 for a total cost of $32.63.

I never write reviews on businesses, but I am compelled to do so for this unfortunate circumstance. I came in to have my brand new wedding band resized. After I received it back I found that the sauntering was very visible and pronounced and that it had multiple scratches on it. When brought to the attention of the owner, he was extremely rude and offended that I pointed out his shoddy work. At the end of a lengthy conversation he agreed to fix the issues. I just came back to pick up the ring and after his repairs he was giving it back to me, not even round! He was offensive in his comments, telling me I should learn English (when that is the only language I speak!). I can understand when someone cannot produce quality work. But treating another person, let alone a customer, in such a manner lets you all know what kind of person he is and the character that he has. It's sad that people take advantage of consumers. I highly suggest that you not consider this poor, sad man and his business.

Had one of my watches die on me. Noticed an ad for M&M Jewelers in the newspaper, featuring $3 watch battery replacements. Three dollars? Yes ! It's easy to find, although parking is metered and very tight on Third Avenue. The store ambience harks back to the 70's, at least. Bowling alley configuration, with a desk and workbench way in the back. The friendly woman there greeted me, glanced at my watch, opened it up, installed a new battery and closed it in maybe 3 minutes. Said it would run for a year or more. Wrote up a receipt for $3, and I gave her $5 for the great service. It's good to know where to go to fix a watch that is exactly right only twice a day.
