Mission Federal Credit Union gives the worst service of any credit union hands down. I opened up an account online with the East H street branch being my home branch. This was done on September 17, 2023. I received by way of snail mail and e-mail welcome notices, an account number and they deposited my opening balance transfer into the account. I expected to receive a debit/ATM card in the mail from Mission. This did not occur and on October 15, 2023 I called their 800 number. The first phone agent put me on hold and came back to tell me she didn't know why I hadn't received a car but she would send me one with her supervisors approval. She passed me to Barry who told me I would not receive a card and my application for membership in the credit union was being rejected. He stated that they would be returning my initial deposit and he hung up. A week later I still showed the initial deposit in my account and the account active online. I called again and was told by Amanda that my membership had been rejected they were closing my account and no return on my initial deposit had been arranged. I asked Amanda to mail a check back to me which she agreed to do and I received it on October 20th. I went through all of this with Mission Federal CU for what? All they did was waste my time.

I just want to take the time to shoutout Susan Ybarra for being such a wonderful service to me not only today, but throughout the years here at Mission Fed. I’m currently dealing with potential scam and the headache of closing accounts, transferring loans, etc. Susan made sure to check all options for me to try to make this situation as easy as possible on me. She has always made me feel at home and very comfortable with my financials. I truly am so thankful for all of her help & efforts! -Daisy

Had to voice my concerns with this POS bank manager. I've been banking here for years, ever since I was a teenager! They held a check that was important to me and when I showed up for assistance, the bald and miserable bank manager wouldn't even lift a finger to help. My family banks here for personal and business, providing this establishment with a lot of money... I'm shocked that they would not release funds 1 business day early. Unacceptable way to show you care about your members. We will be reevaluating our banking partners moving forward, potentially moving to Navy Fed. Thanks for nothing. Enjoy losing long time members in my family, along with all our money.

This is the second of such letters I've emailed with no response. Just so you guys are aware. It's this dismissive attitude that kept me from being a regular customer with your bank. If it had not been for that loan. I would have closed this account and it would never have happened. I still don't fully understand why either bill was paid. And seriously. $15 drops my score 80 points on one report, you misinformed again and put that highest balance was $300 and you guys don't even write me back at this point. I'm going to be extremely vocal about mission federal through, misunderstanding and misinformation had helped stall my personal credit after I fought the last year to get it fixed, amid the fallout of the pandemic, hindered my business because of how my personal credit effects me establishing business credit. All over $15 that in my opinion should never have been charged. And I can't even get a response like I was promised by your employ.

I feel like I must write a review about MFCU due to all the negative feed back that I'm reading. I can't remember how long it's been since I left Chase and joined MFCU but it's been at least 16 years. I've financed 4 vehicles including my Harley Davidson. They have all always protected me and treated me like family. I originally started at the telegraph canyon branch but I regularly visit the Plaza Blvd branch because it's close to work and the staff is awesome. Natalia and Raschell,( I hope I spelled your name right) always greet me and have always helped me with all my financial needs. Hell I've even recommended my co-worker to MFCU and I have my 6 year old daughter and my 20 year old with MFCU. It is such a convenience to have my debit card, credit card and auto loans with MFCU and if it was in my control I would have my mortgage with them as well. I am constantly online monitoring my credit card points, keeping an eye on my transactions and transferring money from one account to another to make my payments. The ones complaining about the lack of ATM's must not know of the option of using any Co-Op free of charge. The only negative thing I can say about MFCU is the mobile app. The more updates, the worse the app gets. I see myself with MFCU for years to come.

I wish I had checked their reviews before applying here. Seems that others have had the same problems as I have, ultimately leaving a bad experience. Application was easy, and went smoothly and then -silence. Total silence. When I *finally* reached someone on the call-back system, he was super rude but let me know everything was approved. Then... more silence. Keep in mind this is during COVID so all has to be done over the phone. Ultimately, it's probably for the best that I didn't establish a financial relationship with Mission Fed.

This review is about Mission Fed in general, not this specific branch. This info just came from customer service over the phone. Keep in mind I just had to go through two covid 19 messages to tell you this. I just paid off a credit card there and called to close the card. She was able to verify my ID, help with all other information and service. Great, can you please close this card account for me? Oh, I'm sorry sir, that you must do in person at your branch. After ALL of the warnings. After ALL efforts to get people to stay home. After ALL efforts to provide services on line, they are going to make me go into a branch to close a credit card. They can provide ANY other service on line or over the phone. Mattress no sense to me.

What a difference between the Terra Nova Branch and the one in National City on Plaza Blvd. During these tough times, it's hard to get quality help since everyone is so worried about their health. National City Branch surely made me feel like they are swapped with business and managed to push me away by not letting me in the building and after waiting outside for 10 minutes I was then told it would be a hour before anyone would tend to my financial needs. Drove over to Terra Nova and the experience was 100 percent the opposite. Security guard in the front door very courteous and guided me and other customers in orderly fashion. Bank associates have a " Yes, I can help you!!"attitude. I normally bank at this branch but the other branch is closer to my home. Anyway, for future financial needs I won't make the same mistake twice and just drive over to Terra Nova. By the way, I have been a member for over 15 years at Mission Federal. Have a great day and thanks again Terra Nova!!
