After being told by my local San Diego County Credit Union, that they were very busy, and that I should have set an appointment I asked the kind representative of that were any other credit unions in the area. I was referred to Mission Federal a couple of blocks away. When I arrived to Mission Federal I noticed North Island credit union was a bit more modern and sleek, looking so I walked in. Kudos to Senior financial services rep, Raquel Michel, who turned my quick inquiry into a quick account opening. Racquel was very professional, personable, and I was more than happy to set up my account with north island, credit union. During our conversation, I mentioned spending time with my granddaughter, and Racquel jumped up and provided me with a beautiful backpack with school supplies at my granddaughter, ended up loving. The contrast in customer service, and in commitment to the community is startling between the two credit unions. I visited that day. Great job to work out for making a regular guy. Feel important and welcome!

I've been with North Island Credit Union for about 2 years now and I can confidently say I will be a member for life because of Raquel Michel. Banking is all about building relationships and you want your banker to care, to be knowledgeable, to be patient, to go above and beyond to help, and to genuinely enjoy what they do. Raquel checks all those boxes I had a complex issue that needed to be resolved and she navigated it so well and made sure it was done in a timely manner, all while being extremely friendly. I highly recommend banking here!

I got a GREAT interest rate and had excellent customer service from Ryan Doyle that made buying my car so easy. I had such an amazing experience I wanted to do more banking with CCU/North island credit union. In this branch I worked with Raquel Michel to establish my business accounts. Easy and so friendly! I've never had such a painless and pleasant experience with a bank. Bank local and use North Island Credit Union!

We have been customers of North Island Credit Union for decades and remain loyal customers. I experienced another reason why with my interacrion with Rachel Michel, Sr. Financial Services Representative at the Easlake Parkway Bramch in Chula Vista. She provided me with outstanding customer service going above and beyond to help me with opening a new account and setting up online access. Rachel is yet another example of why we choose to continue to bank with North Island Crdit Union.

I went to this location on Friday to accompany a member with making some changes to his account. While I waited in the lobby I witness a staff member rush a customer and tell a teller that their was a disable person who needed help. The customer whom was with her disable son gathered her things fast to walk out of the establishment. (Both customers were disabled) Here's the problem... another teller was behind the teller line who opened up her window. The staff member came over to me and asked if I needed anything. I explain to her that I could of been a potential customer and what I witnessed doesn't make me want to be apart of this organization. This lady was trying her best to soothe her son with special needs and complete her transaction. She tried to get him to calm down several times. So, seeing her efforts and watching the staff member rush her and so rudely was disgusting. As a parent of a disable child, I was completely disgusted and her reasoning to me was that the customer is chatty. It does not matter if the customer likes to talk there is a way to do things. You do not know who is in the lobby. The lack of empathy and justification for such behavior was all I needed to see. If that's how you treat your customers why would I want to become a member? The staff member proceeded to explain she knows them and every member is like family to her. She called out another member in the lobby when that member had to correct her because she called her by the wrong name. Just horrible customer service to me!

I just retired and wanted to cash out my 403b. I talked to Manuel Horner about it several times before i retired. When i went to cash out it wasn't as easy as he told me it would be. I would call him to get an update and on Monday he called me and said he had other clients not just me and needed to help them. Really is this a way you talk to a customer. It's his fault that he had no idea how to cash out my 403b not mine. He told me i could have forward the forms to National Benefits. I have banked with North Island for over 35 years and can't believe the way Manuel talked to me or his professionalism. I will take my other accounts elsewhere asap . I would never recommend any bank or credit union who would employee someone that is allowed to talk and treat customers like this. I talked to his supervisor Paul about this and he is now cashing out my account . Would put your hard earned money somewhere that appreciates their customers.

Excellent service today from two wonderful employees. I'm a very happy customer, they spent the time to help me with multiple things today, they handled it all with grace, even though I had my brother and father with me. I was a member back in the 80's and now I am a member again. I am proud to say that everything is now greatly modernized.

I opened an account here due to location (IB). I am closing it. I experienced numerous errors in the set up of my account, name spelling, address spelling and completeness, etc.by the person who set my account up. Even though my balance in my savings was large enough to more than cover other checks I was depositing they still placed the 10 business day holds on my checks. My statements went to incorrect addresses repeatedly. This took some time for them to get it straightened out. I wasn't supposed to be charged monthly fees due to my balance but was and had to go in twice before it was corrected. In addition each time I have been inside the service was poor, either rude or they didn't know their own system and had to ask someone else. I have been since banking at SDCCU and have been very happy with absolutely everything there. Plus no monthly fees regardless of balance. Excellent customer service.

Customer Service there needs some improving. I came there September 6, around 4:30 to make a deposit and a Filipino lady at the business teller line (the one with the closed door) helped me. Wish I've gotten her name though. When I gave her the money to deposit, she started counting it and had the nerve to complain to me that my money "is out of place," and pretty much told me I need to be more organized when I give it to her. I apologized to her. The thing is, I separated all of the $20s, $10s, $5s, and $1s when I gave it to her. So how much more organized do I need to be? Another thing, when she calculated everything, she told me right away that I was short $20. I counted my money twice so I know for sure that I was not short. So when she counted again using the money counter, she then realized she didn't count all of my $20s and I was correct the whole time. Really lady? That's probably the easiest part of the job but you couldn't even do it right but were so quick to assume I was short. She never even apologized but just went about her business. Just because you're in Eastlake you're probably sitting up in your high horse, looking down on people. Not even smiled once during our whole interaction. I know not everyone's probably like her over there but the other branch off Highland in National City are much friendlier.
