Cheap products, bad customer service.I have had ADT for years, fed up with them and their products. They have cheap products that fail, and even though I have a monthly subscription, I have to pay to have a replacement sensor sent out for one that randomly broke. The too often the sensor just popped off, no one touched it or was near it. This is about the 4th or 5th time this has happen to their sensors. They brag about how they can contact the sheriff if your alarm goes off, but the reality is the sheriff won’t come out for several hours. So you are better off with a system that just sounds an alarm.

The door and window sensors are horrible. When the batteries in the sensors get low they automatically trigger an alarm. You will think your home is being broken into. You would think adt could figure out that their equipment needs a low battery warning so you are alerted to change the battery, before false alarms. Think again

Customer service is very unsatisfactory. I have called 3different times (days), taken through several menus and even after selecting the correct one another robot comes and goes through another menu, then when live person finally comes after a long wait, he/she “can’t assist with this but will get you to the right department”, hold several minutes and another live person comes on and after going through the screening all over again, he/she says “oh, I am unable to help you right with this but I’m going to transfer you to another person whom I’ve told everything you need so you won’t have to repeat yourself again.”, few seconds a live person comes on and says “everything today will be xxx hundreds dollars, how would you like to proceed with this….The frustration caused is too much and calling for replacement of existing censors sounds like a scam to be charged few hundreds for and the option for 3 month upfront of professional installment with requirement for $99 down and a little over a $100 a month because “existing sensors or equipment has no warranty on them”, mmmm…I’m extremely disappointed with ADT and may start rethinking to the decision to continue with them.

ADT person came to our door (we have never had their services) and we told them we weren’t interested as soon as they got to the door. The salesperson laughed in our faces and continued to laugh all the way back to his car. My husband asked what he was laughing at and he yelled that we were rude and he wasn’t there to even sell anything so we told him to leave and then he called my husband a ‘psycho’.

Called sales to upgrade our existing home system with them. Sales took our deposit but couldn't schedule the job due issues with their scheduling system. I never got a call back and they took my deposit. I've called several times to get my money back, but was tossed around from one person to the next and left on hold for over an hour. I will disputing this with my bank. Avoid ADT! Horrible customer service!

Avoid ADT. Moving and just tried to cancel service. Spent over 30 mins on the phone being transferred from one person to the next. Seems like part of the strategy to get you to give up on the cancellation so they can charge you for a service you don’t use. Will file with BBB. This may be even a class action law suit? If you are an attorney reading this review I would be happy to be part of the action. Avoid at all cost!

I have used ADT and both of my houses for a total of about 30 years and I've always been really happy with them. They've always had pretty good prices they've always come out quickly when you needed them however today on a call in my house I have a feature called glass break and in our living room we have two windows that never open they're just decorative but Real windows along with a 8 foot glass patio sliding door. And about a week ago when that door got smashed by accident the alarms never went off so it got me thinking and I called them today to ask what's up with this. Yeah every time I call it's a good 95 minute wait or longer and no one seems to know the answer to the question and you can't really talk to anybody I just wanna leave it on hold and Chevy from Dept to Dept so I proceeded to ask for a manager or supervisor to which response was they are unavailable. Frankly it's shocking and depressing because the system cost me a lot of money and now when there's a question of is it doing its job for the money I can't get an answer out of anybody. So I guess I will try one more time to call them and I might be available if I keep them or not but at this point in time I would not recommend them and if they actually see this respond to me I'll be happy to change my review here. OK SO UPDATE... Decided to call one more time today and it's 10 o'clock almost in California happened to finally get a really smart young lady name is Misty who was incredibly sweet knew just what she was talking about and was able to answer my question and help me in about a 20 minute phone call so I really hope again that management sees this and kudos toher because she was the best customer service person I've had with an a long time.

Total scammers. Scammed my mother and when I helped her realized it, and she canceled it before the deadline, they refunded her then immediately charged her again. When we realized it we called and after being hung up on 3 times finally got someone to confirm the cancelation. So cool...not....when she got her bank statement at the end of the month it showed they never did reverse that charge. So called again, got hung up on only 2 the other times they did not even answer or return voice-mail. Called the company directly instead of local store and they refused to refund her Completely because she was a member for not even 2 day so they got her out of her contract but refused to refund the original agreed amount, the 99 installation fee. Watch out for all those sales people will say anything for a signature, fair warning with this company, protect your signature.

Not here for the home services, but your sales representatives are very rude. I cant imagine the customer service. An adt representative showed up and blocked my driveway for the neighbor's. I was actually outside and greated them at the gate before they got out of thier car (because I was waiting on my husband to open the gate for him to pull in.) And they asked about the new neighbors next door. I said very politely, "Im not sure honestly ,but this is my driveway." He replied, "Yeah I wont be long, Im just trying to talk to the neighbors. " I said," Thats fine, my husband is on his way home though ,and there is plenty of parking 2 ft in front and behind my driveway. " He replied, "No thanks, Im just going to be a minute. " First off its illegal to obstruct your own driveway, let alone someone elses. Anyway my husband called and said he was going to be late,(his mom called and he had to run there first)but I walked out to take a picture of the car for this review, and the man now in front of the neighbor's who had been giving a sales speech too for already 10 minutes, said ," Oh here let me move my car, I dont want to make anyone angry" as if he wasnt a rude person, and I was a bother. I replied "Thank you, my husband is going to need to pull into his own house." Not the biggest deal, but its very rude, and I can tell you I'll never like the name ADT because thier reps have put a bad taste in my mouth for how they treat people, and how they pretended in from of potential "money".

I wish I would have seen the reviews before we had the Defenders, dba Protect your Home, come out. The supervisor on the phone, Roy, promised us 3 cameras, 2 smoke detectors, 15 door and window sensors, etc. The installation fee was $99 which I paid over the phone. When the installer came out, the cameras were "out of stock", but he installed the rest of the system, and had to charge me for the smoke detectors because "I had run out of equipment credit", which I paid unwillingly. When the cameras came in, he would return and install them no charge. Told me to call next week to arrange for the cameras to be installed. When I called today, I was told it was going to be $299 for installation and I would have to pay for one of the cameras since they only give you 2 free. Livid doesn't describe it! I can't cancel now because it's one day over the 3 day cancel period, which Drew told me didn't matter because I did not get the cameras yet. I did get credit to get the third camera after talking to a supervisor but I still have to pay the mandatory $299. This is is very upsetting and I am going to BBB and Yelp to maybe prevent someone else from getting taken.

Man, I wish I had read these reviews before working with this company. We had them come out and were talked into a plan that was $17 more per month than was on the flyer. It wasn't made clear that you have to have a landline to get the cheaper rate. Then, the tech goes over the best case scenario and tells us for all the bells and whistles it would be over $4k. He knew that was laughable and built a system that would work for us. He was very nice and seemed knowledgeable so we proceeded with the installation. The tech installed the key pad in the hallway and sourced the power from the light switch in the bedroom behind the pad. Guess we can't use that light anymore.... Later that night one of the door sensors fell off of the slider door.....it just fell off. With that said, we decided the same day it was installed to rescind the contract within the allowed three day window of opportunity. We are currently on the phone with the company, having faxed the necessary notice of cancellation, trying to get them to actually cancel the account and come get their equipment. We have been on hold for a while, after being promised that there was a customer service manager available (with no wait time) to assist us. Will update if this turns out to be a good experience. Otherwise, assume the worst, DON'T DO BUSINESS WITH THEM. UPDATE - got through to the Customer Service Manager (Zelma), and she hung up on us. More to come...
