I had such a great experience, our photographer shoot session for my 9 month old son was amazing! our photographer Thomas was very attentive, funny, and helpful. Definitely coming back :)

Our appointment was scheduled for 5:30. Went up to the desk, and they told us it would be about an hour before they could get us in, we waited, an hour passed, went back up to the desk. They said another 40 minutes, we waited. Went up to them again after the 40 minutes had passed, just another 20. You get the pattern. We waited for about 3 hours, and gave up just before our turn, I wasn’t going to pay after this terrible experience. Now to be clear I don’t blame the workers. It’s clear that the way the photos are scheduled is the issue. With multiple people being booked way too close together. It’s just a very very unfortunate experience. I wanted to do something special for my mom. So I got my siblings together to do a cheesy, 80s, awkward sibling photo shoot. We ended up having my friend take our pictures in a parking lot late at night because that was better than this fiasco. So, unless you want to wait over 2 hours to get your photos taken I wouldn’t recommend this place.

Had to wait over 2 1/2 hours when our appointment was at 5:30 and they “couldnt get us in” until 8:30. Booked weeks in advance. They had multiple walk outs of people waiting over an hour.

Our 15 minute appointment was at 6pm. We were there for two and a half hours with four kids between ages 2-5. Reese was helpful and communicated with us. Technically they closed at 7pm, it's 9pm and they are still actively in portrait sessions. If you have children, I would avoid this at all cost.

Horrible Experience at JCPenney Portraits - Sunrise Mall
I had the absolute worst experience at the JCPenney Portraits studio at Sunrise Mall, and I feel compelled to warn others not to waste their time or money here. Here’s why:
1. Double-Booking Disaster and Poor Communication: It all started when I called to confirm our appointment. While discussing the issue of double-booking, they told us our appointment would be delayed because they had accidentally scheduled two parties at the same time. When I questioned why my party couldn’t go first, they originally said it was because my party had an outfit change. I informed them that we would not longer have an outfit change anymore. She then changed her mind again and said it was based on whoever arrived first. I told them I’d make sure to arrive first, only to be told that’s “not how it works.” What kind of logic is that? The line “disconnected” mid-conversation. I immediately called back several times, but they purposely decided not to answer.
2. Appointment Delays: Despite our appointment being scheduled for 6:45 PM, we were still taken in late. Apparently, punctuality doesn’t matter to them.
3. Rushed and Unprofessional: Once we finally got in, the entire session felt rushed. We had paid for multiple sessions, with each session supposed to last 15 minutes. Instead, each session was probably 5 minutes or less. The staff barely allowed us to take proper photos and constantly hurried us through the process. They ended the session abruptly, claiming they were closing, when they were the ones who pushed back our time. This left us no time to enjoy the experience or ensure the photos were done well.
4. Rude and Unprofessional Staff: Two staff members, one named Reese and another one that I did not get the name of, were the only ones working on December 17th around 7:30 PM. Both were extremely unprofessional, dismissive, and treated us horribly throughout the entire process.
If you value your time, money, and dignity, do yourself a favor and go elsewhere for your portraits. This studio is a mess and lacks even basic customer service skills. Never again!

I had high hopes considering all the ads I’ve seen. Our photographer was not pleasant at all. The lack of customer service was disappointing. They took us in way past our scheduled appointment time. Photographer refused to listen to our suggestions on how we wanted things. Paid extra fees for a large group. Studio was extremely tiny and barely fit us in.. so what are we paying for? If they don’t have a larger studio. Over all pretty disappointed and wish our experience was nicer

Our photographer was awful. The session lasted about 7 minutes long, it was supposed to last 15 mins. She never once moved from her stool, so she had me move all the props for each picture. We were double booked with another girl that was the same size as my daughter, so my daughter didn't get the outfit she wanted because the other girl wore it. The pictures were BAD and we basically had nothing to choose from. The lighting was off and theh were really dark. The ones we did choose don't look like they were taken professionally. She was so pushy when it came time to buy the pictures. She wanted us to buy a package but there was nothing to choose from. This was our first experience getting professional photos, and not a good way to start.

This is my second time here and the timeliness is completely different. There are several staff here today for the Easter Bunny photo shoot. Yet I came 15min early and they are no alerting anyone of the delay just avoiding eye contact and walking past customers. Extremely annoying and I have a 1 year old. They harass you to get there on time then when you’re early it’s even worse smh .

This should be 0 star for the black lady at the pick up and return counter, is the skinny one with the wig long, i went to return some pants that I bought 1 hour earlier, she said, we don't recieve return with clothes with hair all over, and I said, i didn't even try the pant, the pants were always inside of the bag since I bought about 1pm, and she was super rude and mean, that's why that store is DEAD.

Photographer Zen was amazing, he was patient with my wild children and took the time to get great pics. We’ve had other JCPenney photographers rush and not care - he was the complete opposite! He worked with our family to pose us for multiple shots and basically worked miracles with my crazy kids. Thank you Zen for making our Christmas Cards perfect!

I had a appointment with shey do not book a appointment with her she dose not know how to cut hair I wanted a simple Bob and she did not know what she was doing it was uneven one side longer i told her that to get the manager and she was no help. Shey has been only cutting since December she needs to go back to school. I had to go to another salon to have them fix it it should not take 45 minutes to cut a Bob.

Very disappointed, came here for Christmas cards and I'm giving 2 stars only because Nigel the photographer was great and put in alot of effort. He left after the shoot and another woman with purple hair spent about 30 minutes apparently deleting the majority of my photos without letting me see them. Then she finally comes out and rushed through the 30 pictures left so fast that I couldn't even see them. I had to ask her to slow down several times and she was visibly impatient and rude. The majority of the pics she had chosen looked pretty bad and we were blinking or had eyes closed. Only maybe 3 were decent. Then when i ask when we'll get our Christmas cards she proceeds to tell me in three weeks, which is AFTER CHRISTMAS. I had to pay an extra $30 for express shipping which was not disclosed when I made the appointment. Had I not asked I guess I wouldhave gotten them late. My first appointment had been canceled at another location due to a worker having covid and this worker here was also sick and sniffling wearing a mask. Why didn't I get to pick which photos I wanted, got rushed through the process and has to pay extra to get my cards in time for Christmas when Shutterfly gives you till the 15th and it's the same company they offer from. Disappointing.
