7301 Greenback Ln, Citrus Heights, CA I would give a negative 5 if I could for the Pharmacy department. Dangerous activity. Absolutely unprofessional and uneducated staff. Lost my mom's antibiotics prescription, and blamed the dental office for it. When it was resent (2 hours later!) they still could not fill it in because the "insurance website was down". The "pharmacist" had the nerve to say: "Just pay it out of pocket, it is only 20 bucks". Unbelievable! My mom is 74 years old with a disability. They made her wait 2 hours and she still did not receive the antibiotics she badly needed after a dental procedure. When the prescription was transferred to Orangevale Walmart, they were able to give us the meds in 15 minutes! And the website was working. The Safeway pharmacy department does not seem to be interested in the customers' retaining at all. Horrible experience. One day I am afraid they may mess up with a wrong person in a wrong situation and face a lawsuit.

The store was clean and had a great selection. We got everything on our list. Great customer service as well. They have a lot of choices for cold and flu supplies as well as other medicine.

I recently had a minor issue with our personal "Safeway For U" rewards program and needed help from the Assistant Store Director named Tasha. She was extremely professional, very patient, and an absolute joy to work with. Tasha made a phone call and within a few minutes she had my issue resolved. Even though I had just met her for the first time, she made our interaction an easy and satisfying experience and I personally felt like I had known her for years! I would not be surprised if this young lady ascends rapidly through the ranks of the Safeway "family" and reaches the top of her profession. She most certainly has my vote! Lastly, my review would not be complete if I failed to mention another absolutely outstanding Safeway employee named Eda. I have had numerous interactions with Eda over the past year and she has always treated me kindly, with respect, and the usual professionalism that I have always gotten at this particular Safeway location. Both Tasha and Eda are an asset to their company and I applaud the Safeway corporation for hiring, training, and mentoring such incredible employees. Give this store a visit and you will not be disappointed.

I've been ordering delivery orders for a few months due to a medical issue. Almost every order has a mistake. One time I did not get about half of what I ordered. All they did was issue a refund and would not just deliver the missing items. Usually, I am missing at least one item I was charged for. A few times, I got stuff I did not order and was not charged for which means someone else was probably missing what I received. Accuracy rate sucks. They do refund missing items, but then I don't have what I needed. They do deliver on time. Pretty disappointed in this service. I need to have my food delivered and their price is right for the service,so I'll just have to deal with it

I enjoy shopping at safeway and like the selection my main complaint is the deli section. They act like it is such a bother to help the customer's. Especially when asking for a breakfast burrito to be made. On the off chance they have the pre-made ones out I will grab one to save time but when there aren't always ones that I want and it's not very often they have them out. I've witnessed another client get upset with them too while I was waiting in line. The girl who was the worst no longer works there I believe it was sapphire or something like that she was so rude and it was always " did you check to see if there are any pre made ones out" one customer replied no because I want to add things to mine I don't want a pre made one. They will sigh and it's the tone of voice I know they are busy in the morning but don't offer breakfast burritos if it's an inconvenience to make them. The other morning when I went there was a lady behind the counter already making sandwiches and as I walked up she said the sandwhich bar is closed...no signs saying that and no sorry we are currently closed just seemed rude and only because she was busy making other stuff. Finally wanted to leave a review because to me that was ridiculous..

Only store near my house should give it only three stars since it seems like they never have enough people to run the registers. Lots of people stealing items no wonder we pay so much for food California is becoming terrible more by the day.

Citrus Heights Safeway at Greenback/San Juan.I shop at this store about four times a week. Everyone is really nice, helpful, and super friendly. I've learned I can save a lot of money at Safeway if I use the app and shop smart.I decided to try the turkey Thanksgiving dinner for two this year, 2023. BIG MISTAKE. I was so looking forward to picking it up and eating it on Thanksgiving Day only. To be super disappointed!The turkey was very over done, dry as cardboard, but tough as leather. The gravy was extremely salty and honestly I had two little bites of my dinner and the rest of it went straight into the garbage. Super disappointed.Safeway... do better!My dog wouldn't even eat the turkey, and she eats everything!On a positive note, the girl that helped me place my order the day before and that helped me pick up my meal at the deli was amazing! She was very friendly, fast, and very thorough. When I placed my order for my dinner, I had groceries in my arms which the girl at the deli gladly rang up for me...including some vegetables that had to be weighed. She made sure I had my receipt and made sure that my reservation order was marked as paid. When I picked up the food, she walked with me to the refrigerator where the sides were and explained all my choices. She was a pleasure. All the employees at the store are great. Brian, Monica, Nick, etc.

I normally don’t leave negative reviews. However, this is the second horrible experience I have at the deli the customer service at the deli needs to improve. They should probably work on hiring employees that actually want to work and serve their customers. Both times I have been at this location, people there are rude and disrespectful. I will never be shopping at this location again

Beautiful store on Hazel & Madison. Too bad the parking lot is so DARK. Instead of wasting $$$ with that "eternal fire", they should brighten up the tree covered parking lot that's somewhat SPOOKY!!

Went to the deli at Citrus Heights Safeway and had great service from young lady by the name of Jade. She was very patient and kind and helped me with making my purchases.
