“Village Market is such a nice place to have in downtown Clayton. They are always very friendly and outgoing! Not to mention the vast alcohol selection, on top of the lengthy Candy isle and those misc things you don’t want to travel to the grocery store for. OH! And the dedicated Haagen Dazs freezer - come on! Great selection on everything for a small market, even have smoky treats. They definitely add value to the small town feel!!Highly recommend stopping by. You’ll leave with a smile. I do! = )”

“Great selection of top notch beers on tap and many more in bottle. The bar tender was knowledgeable and helpful in making selections. It has the feeling of an off the path rathskeller in Germany. Prices on bottled offerings can get high as some are rare or uncommon in the US. We did not try any food. They post their taps on the Untapped app. A great place to try a beer you might not find anywhere else and have good conversation with a friend.Parking: Metered start parking with extended meter hours.”

“I love this store. Certainly not the same store as the original Cost plus but still a fun place to shop especially for holidays. I worked at the Cost plus store in Concord in the early 90's. Great memories. .”

“Friendly local owner, appreciates the patronage and is happy to strike up a conversation, not on his earpiece speaking in a different language as he impersonally looks away and gives you change. He's engaged and attentive to the customer in front of him, which is a welcome change from what I'm used to.”

“I have driven past this market many times and never gave it a second thought. Until I saw them all over my Instagram show casing their elite picks of brews. They have a few cases packed with dozens of craft brews both small and large breweries. I stopped in to grab some fun new beers for a friends birthday. She is not into the IPA craze and I was worried that I wouldn't have much to pick from, but I was wrong! I got 4 picks that I not only think she will enjoy but also the art on the can is great! If you are not into beer, there are other options for you to grab. There is a small cider section and they have liquor and basic beer grabs.”

“Several things that I like about this place that distinguish it from other wine shops:- It's less showy than Kermit Lynch, less overwhelming than KandL, and has much better variety than Total Wine - The Riesling selection is excellent and there's a lot of aged Riesling from not-as-well-known producers - The prices are generally fair and there are occasionally good discounts; this is *not* a place that's overloaded with high-end Burgundies and there are plenty of wines in the ~$20 range- The website is kept up up-to-date with new arrivals and accurate prices (this is very helpful and makes the inventory easy to look through before you get there) Igor is enthusiastic and happy to let you shop or talk through a recommendation. The weekly tastings are great too and there's sometimes even food trucks. Worth signing up for the newsletter to keep track of what's happening. It is a fairly small operation, so you're not necessarily going to get a lot of legendary wineries coming in for events or a lot of bells and whistles, but I like what they're going for here. Definitely a great neighborhood wine shop.”

“This place has grown so much. Half the pumps dont work too well and I wouldnt trust the readers. I just tap and go. One time I just got out of the hospital from a motorcycle crash and a 'nam vet threatened me with a stun baton. Never change Don, never change ?”

“Used the beer finder app from an out of state brewery and they said Cork & Bottle carried one of their beers. Rolled in to check out the store and was very impressed with their selection of craft beers. Prices for most were competitive, not cheap but better than buying through the cooler at local bars / bottleshops. Definitely will pop back in a few times to keep checking the selection rotation and snagging some decent brews.”

“Cheapest gas in Contra Costa County!! (On 4/7/24)SIGN IS DECEIVING!Sign visible from street listing current gas prices shows 2 prices: Price for Cash and price for Credit/Debit.HOWEVER, once at the pump, there is a notice that states debit is the same price as cash!! (See photos)That's right!!!!!!!!!!THE CASH PRICE APPLIES TO DEBIT CARD PURCHASES!!!Better than Super Stop Gas Station (down the street & what was previously the cheapest gas I have found). It is cheaper AND has trash cans!! (Super Stop does not have any trash cans.)”

“I think it was more of understand what the gentleman was saying. What I understood was if you get the 12 piece it's only $2 more then the 8 piece. And he charged me $20.99 instead of the $18.99. Initially I wanted to just pay for the 8 piece for $15.99. It's not about the money just about the communication. Very clean place”

“They've got a cool and varied selection with oddball stuff that's hard to find, but best check your dates on the more uncommon stuff. It might've sat there for a few years.”
